Brilliant stay! We would be more than happy to be back here. The room was super clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they even offered us breakfast which was a nice surprise. The location is also good although renting a scooter is recommended.

Everything was amazing

The staff's assistance and kindness were truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to help us with everything from renting bikes to arranging laundry services, and they even graciously drove us to the port on our departure day. On the downside, the location is quite a distance from the Ao Nang center, and the breakfast offered is rather basic and unappealing in appearance. However, considering the overall experience, the value for money is the best we've encountered so far.

I have been travelling Thailand for 18 months and have stayed in a variety of hotels ranging in prices and I would say this place was definitly great value for money. I stayed here 6 nights. This is a family owned hotel. Three brothers I believe. The owners/staff were extremely helpful and kind. Always aliavable to help with any questions or wants. it was the same staff working everyday which i enjoyed. The room was very spacious and very clean. Serviced daily to a very high standard. The room had everything you need to make a cuppa in the morning. Hairdryer and Iron at front desk for use. They also hire motorbikes from here however we had pre booked a bike from across the road for easy return. I picked this location purely because i wanted to be away from the crowds. However it is a 2 min bike ride to the beach. One end of the beach is amazingly quiet and the other end has all the shopping and people watching you could ever want. If you turn left out of the driveway you see on your right a bike hire shop and seven11 continue on to the beach and shopping. If you go right out the driveway you will find endless food and good food . Western and thai and hallal at Thai prices. An English speaking chemist is next door also. All in all this was a great stay and I wish the owners and staff all the best on their Hotel journey. xxxxx

That I had to leave.

The owner and his brother with their family person run the whole hotel. They were very polite and helpful. Our check-in time was 2 pm but they gave us the room at 12 pm as we had arrived early. We booked our scooter and island hopping with them which was very convenient. I think at the given price in booking.con you can't expect to get anything better than Baan Thara Guesthouse. Obviously the rooms were not new, but it was neat and tidy. They were very accommodating. It's not far from all the restaurants and beach. I could have stayed at this place for longer if needed. very safe, felt right at home.

The rooms are very nice, big and clean, with great and super clean beds. A very good breakfast is included for free (much appreciated, but should be specified on booking.com as it's a great selling point as the combo for the price is unbeatable) Their tour prices are extremely competitive, cheaper than the actual tours (if booked with the tour company), they probably have good deals with the locals, just ask them at reception and they can book right away for you. (We did a 4 island tour for 900THB, super fair price). The guesthouse is only 1km from the night market, but still in a quiet area away from the noisy tourists. Perfect location in my opinion considering how small and crowded Ao Nang can get. The staff is amazing, 10/10, Ju and his brother are friendly and extremely fair with you. They suggest secret spots and ways to save money and travel hack living like a local, plus they constantly make sure you are ok and having the best time ;)

There are some ants crawling around, but that's normal for this area of Thailand. Just make sure you keep your food in a ziplock bag to avoid any surprises ;) Bathrooms could use some descaling, but that's a very minor thing.

+room was big and clean, +bed was ok, we slept well +breakfast was included in price, it was basic, but for person who doesn't insist on morning buffet, it is really fine and enough (bottomless toasts, bananas, free coffee/tea at lobby, yoghurt , plate of fruits) +People working there were AMAZING,CARING,CUTEST ever and POSITIVE, and in fact, this absolutely beaten all the small negatives +provided Trips, transports, laundry, barber, and motorbike all for fair prices +they kept our luggage 6 hours after checkout and let us have a shower, which was a blessing after hard day

-TV was really old (mind during rainy season, I did not mind) -on booking, it says 650 metres from the beach, in fact it is 950 metres, they promissed they will correct this information.

The owners and staff at this guesthouse are really really lovely! They were so kind and helpful to us for our stay. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was great, with great free coffee available through the day. We had a great stay (and special thank you to their gorgeous friendly cat!). The national park beach just down the road is really beautiful. Good value for money considering we booked last minute and Ao Nang didn't seem the cheapest place.

The location isn't the nicest area, but we hired a scooter and it was great.

Breakfast is included! Toasts, jam, yogurt, fresh fruits, coffee and juice - perfect for a day start. Daily water in bottles. The stuff is friendly and always ready to help. It happened our AC stopped cooling all of a sudden and they fixed it asap. Scooter rent and various tours can be booked at the place. 15 min walk to the beach and about 20 to the night market. Cute cats living in the hotel:) And the hugest plus there are no kids! Thank you owners.

Loud scooters always passing by at night, but that's not actually hotel's problem. Also it would be nice if rooms have additional hangers or stands for towels and clothes. Cuz even nowhere to dry your swimsuit.

Baan Thara Guest House is a Krabi hidden gem. The staff are amazing and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and welcome. They will give you advice about places to go, and help you get cheaper deals on tours, bookings, and all sorts. WIFI is free, breakfast is included and coffee is available 24/7. But what we truly loved about Baan Thara, was how genuinely kind they are. They truly wanted us to have the best time and did whatever they could to make sure of it. We were traveling as a family with a small toddler and the way they treated him was amazing, we couldn't have felt more comfortable. Baan Thara Guest House is also located closer to Nopparat Thara Beach than to Ao Nang. Nopparat Thara includes the Ao Nang night markets, a ton of separate shop fronts, the Muay Thai boxing arena, lots of cannabis if that's what you are looking for, and in our opinion, a better-looking and more enjoyable beach. There are only boats up one end of the beach, and on the other end is a beautiful little cove where people snorkel and you can watch the boats come in and out from the pier. It's also way less crowded and there aren't tourists drinking. All the locals come down for dinner (which was a sign for us) and sit by Nopparat Thara and watch the incredible sunsets and most stay quite late. The beach is only a short walk from Baan Thara which is especially good if you are working with a small budget and don't have transportation (scooter or taxis). We absolutely loved our stay with Baan Thara Guest House and would highly recommend anyone who is planning to stay in the Ao Nang area to also stay here, we will absolutely be booking here again when we travel back to Krabi. We felt super comfortable in the hotel. The owners were always available for questions and a nice chat. We could rent a bike, got explicit directions and recommendatios and they even helped made another booking for me alone at a later date possible although it was nearly booked-out. Breakfast was great, even home-made yoghurt and lots of fruits. It was very quiet at night. The beach is awesome with lots of shade. There are nice and cheap restaurants just across the street and also shops, a laudromat, etc.

You have no direct access to the beach, you have to walk a little bit or get transportation.
