Suite 607 was an amazing space to hang out & rest after long days exploring. Fantastic location, this was the reason for booking. Friendly staff.

Room 607 Suite is located on the side of the hotel overlooking the school. Unfortunately, every school morning between 8-8.30am for half an hour, their daily assembly was outside with a very loud PA MICROPHONE 🎤 blaring out. Just spoilt the morning within this beautiful suite. Not hotel fault, I understand this. Breakfast was a little limited.

To be greeted on arrival with an upgrade to a suite was an unexpected but very welcome surprise. The Amora is my go to hotel whenever I visit Chiang Mai. It has an excellent location just outside the old town walls and is within easy walking distance of the Tha Pae Gate, on the Eastern side of the old town, where you will find Walking Street set up on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The rooms are spacious (even without an upgrade). Hot water availability for the shower is good as is the water pressure. Car parking is available on site and is free.

Didn't find anything not to like

The location of Amora Thapae enabled us to walk to almost all our desired activities. The staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. The breakfast was ample with many choices available. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great location and friendly staff

We didn't use the pool as much as we would have as it didn't appear to be 100% clean ( green slime on thevwallss) and broken steps leading into the water were dangerous. The staff were helpful after 3 nights with lack of sleep... our mattress had springs protruding and was well overdue to be replaced. This they did when I mentioned it to them for which we were grateful

The hotel's location was great, it was within walking distance to Tha Phae Gate which had plenty of restaurants and attractions. The pool was nice and the staff was excellent, they did not hesitate to help or reach out. Rooms were kept clean and the two water bottles daily were a lifesaver! The free parking was also a really nice perk!

Although nothing substantial, I would absolutely stay here again- The hotel was slightly outdated and could use a bit of remodeling around the hotel, rooms, and pools. There were pigeons hanging around the windows and it never failed that they would wake me up in the morning as they were extremely loud. The walls are also slightly thin, I could easily hear my neighbors next door.

There is a lot to like about the amora, the entrance and reception area has the wow factor big doors, porter, koi, friendly staff... facilities are more than adequate. Room was spacious but starting to look a bit tired and the location is close to east gate of the old city.

There are a few things that let down the experience. The room could do with better seating than what was there. It also was in need of redecoration especially the bathroom. Air conditioning was a bit on the noisy side, however none of this stopped me from enjoying my stay and I will happily return.

What a great spot to stay just outside the old city walls! The staff is more than courteous, and the breakfast is generous. The room is spacious and comfortable and we both slept well. Convenient tuktuks outside will take you wherever you wish, but don't hesitate to haggle the prices a bit. Within easy walking distance of so many gorgeous temples.

The hotel, probably built 40 or 50 years ago, must have been lovely at the time. It still is, but could use a good paint job and some redecorating. Other than that it was a perfect place to stay.

The location was great, close to the Old Town. The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. The staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast buffet was fine.

The pool was all day in the shadow and the only guests using the pool were the pigeons. When booking a room, you get standard 2 pigeons on your balcony railing that constantly make noise. It didn't feel very hygienic. Bathroom a little outdated.

Good location, although a 15-20 minute walk from either the night market area or the area around Wat Chedi Luang. Huge room (we had a suite, which includes very large, separate, sitting and dining areas), at a very reasonable price. Tastefully decorated, fast internet, and great A/C.

Breakfast was disappointing - few choices, whether you opt for Western or Asian breakfast. Guy at front desk upped the price for our taxi at the last moment, because we were four - at 4:30 AM. Hotel could use some TLC and updating, especially the showerheads from the 90's.

Great location. Nearby all tourist places. Very friendly and kind personnel, especially in the bar. Clean rooms and other facilities. Good restaurant and a morning breakfast is also fine. Interesting user control system/interface in the room. Hotel is nice and modern. Mostly English speaking staff. Would I come next time - definitely yes. Would I recommend it to friends - absolutely. Great for its price.

Rooms' condition could be a bit better. Some things need to fixed by an engineering service. Conditioner in the room could be less noisy. Personnel at the reception desk could be trained more with a modern payment systems such as NFC/phone payments etc.
