The rooms and location are beautiful. Even the next block that says “didn’t like” isn’t really a didn’t like just things that could be added to make it even better!
Not so much didn’t like but would make the experience even better: if a hotel shuttle could be added and perhaps a little better wifi.

Service in the Restaurant was rubbish! ...if this is a Guide Michelin restaurant, then the Guide is seriously losing its credibility! Half the items on the menu were not available (Singha beer, Pork Ribs, Oreo Ice Cream, Croissants at breakfast). On the subject of Desserts, they ONLY had Cheesecake, which arrived warm and with a blob of strawberry jam on top, rather than the fresh berries shown in the menu photograph... I asked for an Americano at breakfast and got what must have been a quadruple Espresso - had to go lie down to recover =o

Beautiful views and their upgraded suite room was charming, very colonial. Some very friendly staff like the check in lady.
It was far out, which we knew but other than the ultra expensive but not great restaurant, there were no other choices. Bring so far out, we tried to have the hotel book some activities but they seemed just as confused as we were. My wife and I said, the hotel staff doesn’t know why people come here, meaning: they didn’t know how to facilitate literally anything outside. We wanted to stay in the mountains and have a nice view and we would have loved for the hotel to have a list of like 10 things a tourist could do in the area and provide transport and prices. Fees would be ok! But they just didn’t have the capability. The restaurant staff was so nervous to speak in English and they weren’t the most friendly. They more made you feel like you were inconveniencing their lives. Although there was a young guy who was friendly and the manager was nice. Finally, the staff wasn’t always available. We would try to call the front office and no one would pick up. That wasn’t great. Overall, it wasn’t bad. But! Do make sure that you have your own plan and your own transport.

The view is amazing. The pool was refreshing. And the room was nice, especially when they upgraded me.
Too many taxidermy animals gives the place a creepy vibe. Plus, the hotel has zero staff available overnight, so when another guest had a medical emergency, I had to help him get an ambulance.
