It was a really comfortable stay. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and thoughtfully appointed (there is a microwave). The swimming pool is nice. The staff were really helpful, knowledgeable and nice. Good with travel advice and practical help like laundry... We stayed 3 nights but could be comfortable for an extended stay...

The location was down a quiet Soi and not much goes on in the area. However, it's 12 mins walk to chiang mai gate, and 20 mins walk to Central shopping mall in the opposite direction. We drove and parking can be tricky.

Amazing hotel! Staff were super nice/ helpful. Room was super clean, they had Netflix, gave us bottle of water/coffee sticks everyday, all accessories you need! Pool is big enough and well maintained. Located in a quiet neighbourhood. 10min walk from the old town and if you are here on the weekend, the night market is right there!

We had hot water on our first night then barely warm for the rest of our stay…

The most amazing hotel in the whole of our Thailand travels Spotlessly clean, the room was large and airy and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, lovely shower and jacuzzi bath. The mountain view was stunning. Close enough to walk yo the town but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The swimming pool is a bonus. Breakfast was superb 👌

Everything was a really high quality

We loved the ultra comfy bed, everybody from the staff was amazing 😍 The AC was quick and efficient. Good swimming pool, we would have preferred reclinabile lying chairs to tan our back too. 😅 The location is awesome, right next to the Saturday night market, and close enough from the old city.

There were a few things that weren't so great. Sometimes the bathroom smelled funny during the day so we kept it close all the time. The room isn't very luminous due to the passing corridor next to the window, it also wasn't feeling great to have the curtains open since people were passing to reach their room ( full vue on our room). The balcony isn't accessible from the room, you gotta cross the corridor and reach your balcony, which takes us to the last point. The balconies are close to each other, we came to like our balcony but the neighbours were so noisy on the next one that it was a little awkward for us to be on ours, they stayed put till late in the night talking on the phone...

The Hotel De Wualai is hands down the nicest place I have had the pleasure to stay at in Thailand. The staff here are exceptional; everyone from the manager, restaurant staff, and housekeeping. They are kind, friendly, and very helpful. Whenever I come to Thailand, it is the people that make the journey worth it. Everything, the bed, the facilities, the beautiful room, is a 10. The hotel is very clean with attention to detail. For me the location is ideal; it's close to the airport, and good value for money, and good value for the money. And, there's a lovely back garden. I will be back again.

If you have any doubts about staying at this hotel, honestly don't and just go for it. It is very reasonably priced, location is great, the hotel is very modern, gym is basic but adequate. I would like to highlight the staff - everyone we interacted with from reception to cleaners were extremely friendly, polite and really helpful. I would like to call out Kang (the receptionist lady) who was marvellous and helped us out all the time. Also the pool was really great and perfect for winding down after a long day out. We found some cafes and vegan restaurants within 10 mins walk and all were really nice and we frequented them often as a result. You can also buy cold beer from reception at a very reasonable price which was a bonus. 2 bottles of water was provided daily in the room.

Parking was tight, but with the help of reception we could leave the car parked outside on the opposite side of the road.

We had the best time in Chiang Mai and it was probably also due to our amazing experience at Hotel De Wualai. The type of room that we chose was moderately big and included a balcony, smart-tv and a bathtub. The staff is truly great and kindly helped us to book day-trip/half day-trip packages (even with some discount), as well as taxi for the airport and providing us with clear explanations of the city's attractions. The breakfast and the pool are also just fabulous.

I would pay more attention to the location. It really depends who you are travelling with and if you do not mind walking. The old town of the city is about 15/20 minutes by foot, which can be slightly annoying if you want to visit it several times on different days. Nevertheless, the hotel is outside of the city walls but basically 100 metres away from the biggest night market of the city, which takes places on Saturday.

The staff! Every single one of were so kind and helpful! Lovely people! The hotel is very clean! Huge flatscreen in the room. Modern and nice bathroom. Nice, but small, pool.

The ratings said 9,1 on comfy beds. Not so in our room. It was rock hard! They put in an extra matrass for us and it helped a little but it was still hard. We had a foul smell in our bathroom but with the door closed it was not a big thing. The location was only ok. Close to much but very few shops or restaurants in walking distance. Would still come back! Overall, we had a great stay!

If I could give 11 or 12 out of 10, I would have done that! A superb place, especially for that money. The staff is exceptionally friendly and always happy to help, the location is ok enough, cleaning is every day and well done, the rooms are quite new, VERY nice, the TV big and good, plus you have enough space for your clothes and other stuff. The swimming pool downstairs is also nice. Plus you have your own balcony with fan and lights, so you can enjoy your meals outside looking at the city

There are only 2 problems: 1. Water in the bathroom, it's either COLD or BURNING HOT, not something in the middle. I spent 3 times more time in the bath switching from hot to cold and showering in the short moments in between. 2. Swimming pool is mostly in the shade all day so the water is quite cold, maybe during hotter days it would be ok =)
