The ambience and layout is amazing very nice decor.The staff and owners were lovely and the restaurant served delicous inexpensive food.Big extremely clean swimming pool.The owners can organise massages day trips etc.All the rooms have tv with netflix etc. Unfortunately the weather was unseasonably cold whilst we were there especially in the evening as the cottages are set out in such a way that they dont get any sunlight which keeps them cool in the summer. Would highly recommend a stay there for a few days fantastic value for money !

Nothing was all great

The resort is designed with a great eye for detail and very well maintained! A place where you can sleep with the windows open (with musquito screens) or, if preferred, with airco. The whole setting is super beautiful; the garden - with in the evening the lights in the tree tops - the swimming pool, the houses each in a different colour, the restaurant with it’s wall decoration, even the rain tap (!), etc. The owners and staff are super friendly and happy to help organize a trip or fully packaged day. ( Elephant Care, temple hike, etc.). The food is delicious, and varies from original Thai to European. A great base to explore Chang Mai and it’s surroundings. For me it was home away from home. Cannot wait to come back and stay longer.

The location definitely requires you to have your own transportation as it’s quite remote for amenities , if you’re after some where to sit in the sun and relax this isn’t the place for you, due to all the beautiful nature. There is No English speaking tv so be warned to bring entertainment for yourself

This place is amazing. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, the bungalows are in front of a clean and small pool, a nice place to chill out at the sunset. The restaurant is perfect, you can find different dishes, Thai and International dishes, good prices and well-cooked. The staff is really kind and helpful and the all the resort is well-preserved and clean. Wi-fi is also good. The area is plenty of opportunities and Grab arrives there. If you like walking, you can easily reach the most important attractions in 30/40 minutes. It took 30 minutes to arrive in Chiang Mai but it is calmer and the temperature is better in the burning season. Highly recommend!

nothing, it is perfect.

- a secluded hotel. a place to reconnect with nature. the only thing that you only hear is the signing of the birds. - the location is excellent. Far away from noisy and polluted city center of Chiang mai, in quiet a street. You need off course a scooter or a car to explore around. 30 minutes from hotel to samoeng viewpoint (attached picture.). There are two waterfalls near hotel and countless other attractions. 7-eleven and a drug store is nearby. - The owners and the staff (the boys and girls) are extremely helpful and nice. - The swimming pool is very clean. The views from swimming pool are divine. - The hotel is spotless clean: you would see the staff are always cleaning and taking care of hotel. - The food is really delicious and cheap. - the room was really clean and had everything that you need. I liked the hard bed.

Very relaxing environment. Nice swimming pool, great green scenery, helpful staff, great value for money. Very recommended as there are many activities around. Its about 35 min from the changmai city so if you have a car or a scooter you are more than fine.

Nothing but I would recommend to heat the pool a bit.

A rare small resort with beautifully designed ‘cottages’ in the most exquisite orchid garden. This is a very relaxed place. It has a good restaurant, is run by a delightful small group who care for it passionately, and is perfectly situated for a touring this lovely hilly area of the Chiang Mai region. The pool is large and salt water, set among the trees. It is a real retreat living up to every expectation.

The hotel is at the bottom of the hill so our driver was relieved not to have to drive the 20 minutes up the winding hill to our previous location 15kms away. The hut-type accommodations were fine - clean and adequate with a little patio for two chairs and a table. It's a very leafy location so the sun isn't able to break through much- not reaching the patio or, 3/4 of the pool area. Meals were good. Very very strong coffee, beware.

Too many trees, blocking the sun

As frequent travelers we were amazed of the serene and calming atmosphere of this location, the staff is truly committed to bring you the best personal service which is not commonly seen nowadays in some locations. The whole resort is well maintained and in an excellent condition, the forest garden is beautiful with it's trees and flowers giving you the feeling of being back to nature. In the middle of the resort you can find a pretty good size swimming pool for making morning swims or for a nice cool down late afternoon. Due to the forest environment and the surrounding mountains the temperature of the location is 5 degree less than the city center of Chiang Mai which is only a 25 minute drive. Our cottage or traditional bungalow is spot clean, like new. The bed is very comfortable with good medium/hard mattresses. The room has all comforts that you would expect. The restaurant deserves a real recommendation, traditional Thai, or European dishes. We've tried the Thai menu and it's superb, absolutely delicious. For future travelers, I recommend Monoceros Resort. We'll be back soon again for sure.

Beautiful resort with a green garden full of large trees, orchids birds and squirrels. The kids loved the large salt water swimming pool. The staff is nice and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good and not expensive. In fact, they grow a lot of their vegetables and spices at the back of the garden. We had a great Thai massage in a pavilion nearby the pool. They arranged a daytrip for us to see the Chiang Mai city highlights (the city is less then ½ hour drive). Another day the resort arranged a visit to an elephant sanctuary, were we pampered the elephants. All in all, we had a lovely stay at Monoceros.
