The location on a little rocky hill overlooking the sea was breathtaking. Easy access to the swim area with plenty of sunbeds & umbrellas. Kind & helpful staff. Good breakfast platter to kickstart the day. A short slow walk 10min to old town area.

A tad dark if you walk back from dinner from old town…we brought torchlight for better vision. Safe area

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Caretta hotel for a weeks holiday and had the most incredible stay. It’s only a 10 minute walk from the old kalkan high street, so in the evenings we walked in for dinner but loved how during the day we had peace and quiet and privacy away from the business of the main town. The hotel itself is simple but has everything you need, you can tell it’s family run and looked after with love! We were blown away by the crystal clear water of the hotels beach club, which we spent every day at. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. We stayed over my birthday and they knocked on our door with a birthday cake! We will absolutely be back again, a true treasure trove!!

If you want character and charm with million dollar views and terraces to sunbathe on and a great spot to swim then this place is for you. It is not some large chain, it is run by the owners. For the price and the location we haven’t found better value in Türkiye.

If you have a small child/toddler it may not be suitable for them to swim in the water as it is very deep, but you could go to the beach about 800metres away - that said it is a positive for me as you can dive into the beautiful blue water straight from the terrace. The rooms aren’t perfect, so if you want the modern plastic style hotel this place may not be for you- we thought it added to the character.

We absolutely loved it! We stayed here back in 2013/2014 and were delighted to find it hasn’t changed much. The hotel is a real gem with a fantastic private beach, in a quiet part of Kalkan and yet a short walk to the marina. Everyone was super helpful and attentive. Rooms are a bit old fashioned but super clean, big and the AC works! The property is just beautiful with beautiful bougainvillea trees and fantastic sea views.

Just returned after a great experience at Caretta hotel. The location is perfect - a quiet and peaceful area but just a 15 minute walk from the city with private access to the sea. What stood out is the hospitality of Mr Murat and his team - they stayed up till 1am for our check in because we were slightly behind schedule and surprised my partner with a beautiful cheesecake on her birthday. 11/10 would recommend!

Everyone working there. I felt completely welcome and looked after. The location was incredible, falling asleep to the sound of the waves on the rocks and waking up to jumping into crystal clear waters. I was staying there alone, at not one moment did I feel alone. My room was perfect, clean, spacious, beautiful balcony looking out to the sea and trees. The sound of crickets as I slept. Murat (the owner) had incredible warmth and humour. The other staff members were equally as warm. I felt like I was visiting family. A complete get away, going into Kalkan, then knowing I was coming back to Caretta was like a secret paradise away from the hustle and bustle. 1000000000%%% recommend.

Great value for money in otherwise overprised Kalkan. Hotel has very cozy artificial beach with amazing views on the peninsula. It is slightly away from the harbour - less than 1km, quiet place where you can enjoy your vacation without noise from the city bars. There are no lights on the road, but it was fine even at night, you can easily see the way. Even side sea room offers spectacular views

If you want to be basking in the sun with a superb vista of the ocean and Kalkan town without haggling for a deck chair this is the place for you. The building is a little tired but you don't go to Kalkan to stay in your room. The location is perfect, a pleasant stroll to the port but far enough away to provide serenity when there. The staff were super friendly and helpful, always ready to be of service (even reminding me I was on holiday when I started to carry my own bags). Things could be done to this place to turn it into a swanky upmarket beach-club, but it would then become much more expensive no doubt. The sun shines on a cheap deck the same as an expensive one and the water is the same too!

-neglected room -shower cabin, sink are moldy -old aircondition is still on the wall but already out of order -the staff came into the room when we were resting inside, knock would be nice -untidy curtain -there is a pool but it is not in very good condition

Caretta hotel is amazingly located right on top of the beautiful blue sea of Kalkan, a few steps away from the water. My room was at top floor with a nice terrace with an unobstructed and terrific view of the sea and Kalkan. Quiet but at the same time just few hundred meters from the old town and the marina. Room was spacious and clean, comfortable bed. Very friendly staff, always ready to help. The manager, Murat, is super kind and readily available to assist. On my arrival, in the evening, was so kind to drive around in the centre to show me some restaurants, and helped me to quickly arrange the rental of a scooter Big thank to Murat! Don’t miss Kaputas beach, a must-see. If back to Kalkan, I would stay at same place.

At night, the last part of the road leading to the hotel is a bit dark. Improving the public lighting would be good but it’s a minor thing, and is clearly outside the responsibility of the hotel.
