We arrived late, stressed out from battling the Kampala traffic, which was horrendous. The staff greeted us eagerly and not only told us where our room was but escorted us there to ensure we were set up with the minimum of fuss. We had supper by the pool in a very relaxed atmosphere, which was just what we needed after a very stressful and challenging day. The staff were responsive and had a sense of humor, with nothing being too much trouble.

There was just one couch for four people but the other facilities were so good it didn't affect us. Why sit in a room when there are such relaxing areas by the pool.

The bed and bathroom are exceptionally clean , and the airco is silent and powerful. The build quality of plumbing, furniture, windows, elevator, swimming pool, fitness room, etc... is of very high standard, which is rare in this beautiful country. Traffic noise is audible in the background but not a nuisance. What really stands out is the friendliness of all the personnel: not only at the reception desk and in the restaurant, but also the security guards and the cleaning personnel will make your stay a 5star experience.

Very beautiful hotel, with unique and creative designs. The room was very comfortable for our family of four. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and they went out of our way to make our one-night stay feel like a holiday! The free breakfast was very filling, and the other meals were delicious, too. The pool was very clean, the beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom, and it was an overall peaceful, calm environment.

Improving their security during day would be advisable. We never had any problems, but my husband noticed that there was not a full-time day guard.

We arrived late in the evening after a long day in the car. We were greeted by staff the moment we stepped on the property. They gave us a tour, and brought us what we needed to get settled…extra towels, and iron. The restaurant stayed open and the food is divine. The next day the owner introduced himself and personally checked that all was well. The pool is beautiful and you can eat poolside.

First of all i want to thank the owner ,his family and his staff, it was a safe havean in Kampala and i would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quite beautiful safe place to stay in Kampala

The only thing the breakfast should include pancake ,some cheese variety,some eggs .

The staff was very kind and helpful. We also enjoyed the pool, the restaurant and everything. It was a very nice hotel for us, and we would love to come back.

It is not a big thing, but the aircondition didn't work. We got another cooler instead of that, but it made so much noise that we couldn't use it.

If Uganda is truly the "Pearl of Africa " then "Duomo Hotel and Suites" is surely the 'Pearl of Kampala '. I am so glad I found this gem of a place. I previously stayed at the so called ' up market ' Golf Course hotel when in Kampala. Hotel Duomo is half the daily rate of the ever increasingly costly Golf Course hotel ( its been increased again apparently because of the lifting of the curfew they told me ), and yet the Duomo is far superior from my experience.  Hotel Duomo has a friendly welcoming family atmosphere which is a joy to experience after the Golf Course hotel. From Carol on reception, Gloria and Gladys  in the bar and restaurant , Kenny the pool attendant and all the other staff ( who's names I can't all recall at the moment),  you are immediately made very welcome. They are more like friends than staff after just the first day or so. The staff at Golf Course hotel are not unfriendly, they're just not friendly either.  I got the impression they were always being watched after by their supervisors and appeared to be reluctant to converse with the Hotel clients or even smile back to them. Here in Hotel Duomo they take time to talk to you and have a laugh with you. The owner / boss Mr Lee has a very visible and hands on approach . Every day without fail he will greet you at some point to ask you how your day is and if there is anything he can do for you. He even helped me with an outside matter that was not connected with the Hotel. When you are sitting on your balcony you may feel you're on a Greek island paradise rather than the sprawling city of Kampala. The gardens in the grounds are beautifully maintained by the owners wife.  Your view will be of palm trees, exotic flowers and bushes,  a lovely crystal clear swimming pool and the surrounding appealing green hills and trees. The swimming pool is meticulously cleaned and maintained early every morning.

Breakfast was amazing! Actually all meals are superb. We always like Asian food and Duomo's asian food is very authentic, especially the korean food, never expect I found a great Korean food like in Duomo. Their local food is also amazing. In general, all their food is definitely tasty.

great reception team, especially for a girl who i don't remember the name. the Wifi is ok, the breakfast should get more fruits and juices. The food meu is really good, I loved the dishes. ofc i will come back soon . best regards for all team also for the hotel airport driver that is really a good man.

Very interesting menu! The main host at reception was fantastic. It's in a Central location - everything close by. Spotless facilities. Quiet, relaxing and comfortable. I would return. In fact this may now be my goto place for short trips to kampala.
