We didn't have breakfast as we'd had a huge meal the evening before, celebrating a birthday. The rooms were all spotlessly clean, comfy and on the 6th floor with good views, some of the city, some of the river. Bathrooms great with quality toiletries. Fabulous shower, both overhead and handheld hose .... don't get those often !! Loved the small bathroom light which lit the underneath of the washbasin which meant there wasn't a bright light when entering to wake other room occupant at night. Switch next to the main bathroom light. Location is excellent for alternative eateries both budget and higher end should you wish to venture further than the hotel which does have a beautiful restaurant Hotel reception staff are just so welcoming, smart and efficient. Luggage storage available both prior and post stay if, as we had trains later than check out time. Not an issue at all. Bar and housekeeping staff all smart and friendly All in all, and excellent stay in a really lovely hotel.

That we couldn't stay longer

Our staff Christmas party was held at The Bristol, so perfect to stay over. Great central location to visit other attractions in Bristol. Lovely to have a room upgrade with a water front view, thanks. Comfy bed and pillows. Loved the Christmas decorations and trees in the foyer. Friendly and helpful staff.

If I was being super-picky I'd mention the height of the hook in the bathroom - not designed for short people like me to hang their dressing gown on! Also would be lovely to have a nozzle on the hairdryer to diffuse the heat, and a longer flex to make it easier to plug in and see in the mirror to dry one's hair. However, these are very minor things.

The location was brilliant for our stay, you cannot get more central! It was perfect for us to be able to head back to our room whenever we needed a break from exploring, and before heading back out for the evening. The staff were friendly and happy to help whenever we had any questions. The room itself was lovely, comfortable and clean. We had a room overlooking the harbour with beautiful views of Bristol, but it is worth baring in mind the clubs across the harbour are very loud! We still slept well despite this but you may struggle if you’re a light sleeper.

It was great being able to park right next to the hotel but a shame that it cost us £32 for the 48 hours. Especially seeing as the car park is attached to the hotel. Understandable to a degree with how central the hotel is and it being Bristol, but still an added expense to our stay. An expense that quickly racks up the longer you’re there.

The hotel provided me with an upgraded accommodation, a more spacious queen bedroom with an elevated view. The establishment exuded a classical ambiance, which was also reflected in the design of the room. While I did not have the opportunity to dine at the hotel, I noticed that the dining room for breakfast appeared to be quite pleasant, with a scenic view of the river.

Though the room had space, a suitcase rack was not provided, and I used the large desk to open my luggage. On the television, the program guide displayed white text on a light gray background, making it challenging to read. I was unable to locate the option to modify this setting.

The room was lovely and clean. It overlooked the Quay. Parking was easy as it was right next door to the hotel. At breakfast there was a good selection for everyone.

Our corridor to the room was very cold. Our room when we first entered was very cold. Once the heating was put on it warmed up lovely. Just had a slight problem with breakfast, we had to chase up a couple of times to get a cup or tea and coffee. The staff were really good but just busy clearing up and relaying tables. Could do with there own section of the restaurant to look after, just advice not criticism.

From the moment you enter the hotel there was a warm and friendly welcome. The room was fantastic, roomy and very comfortable. The restaurant was very good, although we didn't have much time for dinner as we had to leave early for a show. Breakfast was buffet style, with a large selection of both hot and cold foods available.

Unfortunately, for us there were too many stairs, as we both have mobility issues. However, we would return to the hotel and request a room nearer the lifts, and without additional stairs to access. Also, we were told on departure that there is disabled access to the restaurant via the kitchen, so problems solved!

Hotel was clean, comfortable and accommodating. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms were nice, bed was comfortable. Location was excellent. Straight out the hotel and you was by the harbour. Had excellent views from the room. Told the hotel was visiting for a birthday, and they upgraded the room, which was nice of them. Also a note and small chocolate to wish happy birthday. Lovely touch.

I was surprised there was no mini fridge in the room. But we had ice so that helped. We asked for a later check out but was told it was only until 12.30pm complimentary as they was busy, unless we paid extra. How ever we did not, as a two night stay already we had paid enough. Aside this, it was a lovely stay and would stay again.

The breakfast was good, the restaurant was very busy so had to queue for a little while, but didn't mind. (8.30). The staff were all very friendly.

It took us an hour to get to the hotel once we reached the town, as our sat nav kept telling us to go down bus lanes , we passed primark 3 times going round in circles because there is no turn to go left, it's all changed to bus lanes, in the end we went down a bus lane so will probably get a ticket. It would be really handy if you were able to supply directions after booking. As this has put us off staying again, it's much easier to get to the Marroit.

The central position, the hotel is right in the centre of Bristol, 15 minutes away from the train station, walking distance from the main attractions. Spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Dog pillow and dog bowls.

Clear information on the website on the pet policy before booking. It is very important for the owners of pets having clear information ahead because it might influence the decision of booking in others solutions. On the description the hotel specify the dogs are welcome. However it is not mentioned that medium and big size dogs are not allowed. I was lucky because my dog is a small size well trained so I had no issue. The fees is £20 per night which is not mentioned on the hotel description. The coffee machine was not available and in the restroom some cleaning tools were missing.

The staff were brilliant. They were all obviously trained to a high level of customer service and it showed. Even the cleaner said Good Morning and acknowledged us. We had a Cocktail in the bar which was lovely and because we said we really enjoyed it the Bartender explained how it was made. He then explained how to do it at home, including writing it down for us!! Every body we met were engaging and seemed to be genuinely interested. It was not false. To obtain that brilliant customer service consistency from the Bar staff, reception and cleaner we met is fantastic. Well done everyone!!
