Location to Chester View from rooms of racecourse

We checked in a bit early to decorate the room for a 18th and the corridor floor carpets were filthy, I stayed about 3 years ago and the room looked a bit dated now from when I used to stay. I booked for my son and his girlfriend

It was clean, friendly and secure and the location was only a few minutes walk from the center of Chester. Facilities in the hotel were good and the food, especially the breakfast, was excellent.

When we arrived back at the hotel after an evening out, we found our room heating wasn’t working. We contacted reception who explained they could control it remotely. It took about 20 minutes for any warmth to come through, which might not seem long but we had been out in -3 degrees and had hoped to warm up quickly when we arrived back. I’m not sure why the heating would be turned off remotely. The shower room was very modern and stylish, however the shower wasn’t fitted with a grab rail which I would have liked.

Beautiful room , cosy double which was far larger than expected, really friendly welcoming staff , lovely comfy bed and very nice bathroom which was not over close to the bed which is lovely for a little more privacy . Easy parking and close to the centre . Highly recommended .

Only one tiny thing, lots of snacks and pop in the room which is always nice but comes with a price , understandably , but disappointed water was also included in this extra at £2 a bottle . Would expect a couple of complimentary bottles of water or even a pre made jug/bottle for the room. Minor thing , overall the hotel is amazing and the staff are lovely.

Good location, lovely late lunch on arrival , bed comfortable, sleep well .

I think it was a shame that had to pay for parking at the hotel and especially as paying £149 for bb

We attended a graduation ball for my daughter at the Chester Racecourse, so the location was ideal. Also within short walk of centre.

(1) We found a luggage tag under the bed that was dated in May from a former guest ??? (2) When we checked in we asked if our room had a view of the racecourse. … the gentleman on reception changed our room (saying we were very lucky as there was only one room left with a view of racecourse) … this did not have a view of racecourse - we later found out that the room we were given originally had a view of racecourse … this we found very disappointing as it was a very special occasion for us.

The room was pleasant and in a good location, close enough to walk into the centre of town. Nice view from the room and very peaceful. The breakfast was lovely and the staff serving it were excellent.

Not all of the lights in the room worked and there was a stain on the wall, which we weren't sure what it was. It was not clear how to access the wifi. However, these things did not prevent us from enjoying our stay and I'm sure the staff would have accommodated us, had we asked for assistance.

The hotel was clean, and the checking -in process was efficient and fuss free. The car park is a great feature. We had a large room which is convenient as we had a number of luggage.

One of the supervisors in the hotel restaurant was inexperienced managing her staff, ordering them around. The restaurant was serving a tapas like menu but didn't explain. As we are foreign tourists, we didn't understand. A staff member tried to explain, but the supervisor ordered her away and then assigned an inexperienced staff to take our orders. We ended up with an unhappy dining experience where we were still hungry as we ordered too little.

The staff were very helpful, we upgraded to include breakfast and were very happy that we did as it was an excellent breakfast with lots of choice. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The hotel was in an excellent location with the town centre in easy walking distance.

The downstairs bar did not open at all during our stay which was disappointing. The bathroom had a slight smell (maybe from the drains). Christmas decorations a bit on the sparse side, no real effort to decorate for Christmas.

Modern and good location with parking.

Breakfast was like a slapstick vintage comedy. Is it so hard to give your paying guests there coffee or tea at breakfast time within a few mins of being seated. We don’t ask for much. 20 mins later still waiting. Wasn’t that busy. No direction from the manageress. It was only like that on the last day. Also the first day at breakfast they didn’t recognise our room number. They had to phone reception for confirmation. Also they didn’t clean the room as they didn’t think anyone was in the room until I complained. Apart from that it was fine.

Great location, Room size and facilities great especially with having a 9week old needing a crib next to the bed the was plenty of room space. Excellent staff very welcoming, tentative and helpful nothing was any trouble, we required an extension lead for our toddlers crib light, This wasn’t any issue and the night staff helped. Perfect location with parking onsite, great breakfast all fresh to order. The Brasserie Manager (Joe) was extremely helpful and set a great tone for customer service & experience here.
