The hotel was lovely, room was great and the hotel staff were brilliant

The restaurant staff were rude to me and my partner, they seemed very nice and polite to the older people at the hotel. They weren’t very helpful and their attitude towards us stunk, heard them talking the same way to another young couple that came in the restaurant too. The food in the restaurant was awful, ordered pizza (seeing the pizza oven thinking it would be fresh pizza) and received raw(ish) potato’s on what appeared to be pre bought pizza basses/pizza. The breakfast was okay though. We did have plans to eat at the restaurant on our second night but decided to avoid it.

Really prompt customer service . Excellent help from housekeeping , friendly reception , good food and menu . Very relaxed atmosphere , spacious lounge / lobby area . Good parking .

Our half of the hotel didn’t have an elevator so we had to manage stairs . We hadnt realised that in advance . Don’t remember that being mentioned on booking.com ? The other side of the hotel does have a lift but the buildings are not linked internally and we had to manage a pram and travel cot on the stairs . That said , MARIUS from housekeeping saw us struggling when we left the room and carried it all from one wing to the other for us !

We have stayed at this hotel pleasure and business, and it never fails to deliver. Located just off A1M, it is ideal for touring the North East Region, including the coastal towns and other places, including Durham, Richmond, and Swale areas. There is plenty of free parking available. Although the rooms were in the small size, they were well designed and equipped. The food was excellent (Italian themed restaurant), particularly very well serviced buffet breakfast. The whole hotel is a busy place, with events and activities going on all the time which is good to see. The comfortable lounge bar is well stocked and has a Starbuck stall, adding to the range of choices. (Cakes & sandwiches and snacks!!) The hotel is well managed and lead, recently winning awards for its standard of customer service, all delivered in the context of value for money. However, the real stars of this hotel are its staff, without exception everyone delivered outstanding cheerful customer relationship. You know it's a happy place to work when you have (unusually for hotels these days) plenty of staff meeting the guests' requirements. It would be unkind to single out the staff, but for the record, Nick at the reception and Tracy in the restaurant were amazing. Well done, Team!!

We had a large executive room which was really spacious with a comfortable superking bed. Staff were really friendly and helpful as i asked for an early check in which they were able to accomodate. Breakfast was tasty with a large selection and good bacon and hash browns. It was great that guests could use the pool in the leisure centre next door for free (although you may wish to check timings of classes as i ended up in some aqua aerobics class by accident..!)

Only BBC worked on the TV but at least i was able to screencast netflix from my phone! Room was a bit tired looking and could do with a fresh bit of paint Scrambled eggs at breakfast were very soggy!

a well used stop for us, but only for the buffet breakfast, this time we stayed over, ideal for one night, a late check in was pleasant and easy, the room was ideal, probably recently refurbished, everything worked as it should, clean and spotless breakfast was its usual excellent self service eat all you can buffet, we were set up for the day, check out was easy as pleasant plenty of parking, all covered by parking eye, so put your reg in and your parking is free the staff were truly excellent and great fun at breakfast, thank you

despite the other reviews, ours would have been a 10/10, three minor niggles, and I do meam minor niggles, in the room, no decaf coffee, no spoon to stir tea/coffee, with and at breakfast out of stock of brown sauce!!

The reception was clear and airy and the staff were friendly . Food was excellent . Rooms well equipped and clean . We had excellent customer service - especially from reception and help from Marius in housekeeping .

Our side of the hotel didn’t have an elevator ! We had to get a baby, pram, cot etc upstairs and through heavy fire doors . The other ‘wing’ had an elevator but no rooms available on that side . It should be mentioned in booking.com . We were exhausted carrying everything up and down steep stairs !

We stayed here for the convenience of the location, and because it had EV chargers. The staff were really friendly and accommodating - a level of service that you would expect in a fancy hotel, but with the value for money of the Holiday Inn chain. Considering you are overlooking the junction, it does not cause too much disturbance.

We happened to stay on a night when there were various wedding parties, loud guests of big families - so we could hear screaming and banging from the rooms either side of us... of course this is no fault of the hotel but I am considering investing in ear plugs for my next visit !

Room was available early. Easy and friendly check-in. Convenient parking. Good evening meal and breakfast. Convenient location for onward travel which is why we have used the hotel before (to break our journey.

Having booked a table on arrival for dinner, we were initially informed there were no tables available as there was a coach party booked at the hotel. We were offered our meal in the bar at first, but eventually the dining room manageress cleared a suitable table for our use. We have seen her before and found her always helpful and friendly.

The hotel is lovely, bed was great nice and comfy, air conditioning was a bonus. You can even bring a dog if you want to. Plenty of parking. Food was good and bar great. Staff very friendly and polite. Will be back again.

You have a bath but the bath wash is aimed at having a shower. The menu choices are a bit limited for fussy eaters, could you put a margarita pizza on the menu or a chicken breast burger. That would make it a 10 for me.

Excellent stay at a reasonable price. Stayed 3 nights as a centrally located location to take in some sights. Very comfortable room and an exceptional breakfast. A big shout out to the breakfast chief who thrilled our young daughters with fresh pancakes and cookies! Also to all the breakfast staff who were super friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was a hit with the kids too. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
