We found this an excellent place except ….. they closed the restaurant on 21 and 22 Dec! Would not this have been more profitable to open this close to Christmas!! The breakfast in the restaurant was brilliant! Even fixed a sausage for my Service Dog who got a bone shaped biscuit on arrival! This place is very dog friendly!!! The staff were welcoming and outstanding!! So why close the restaurant on a Saturday and Sunday night just before Christmas!!! They even have plenty of charging stations for electric cars!! About six!
Had to go find somewhere else to eat supper!

We have stayed many times and so we know what to expect, big room with all facilities in a quiet area at a great price , it is very busy during the week with workers so the carpets in the halls can be a bit grubby and while the rooms are clean they are basic , no wall art and basic chairs . Large parking area, just make.sure to log your car registration at check-in, it is an electric charing station for Tesla so lots of traffic . Handy next to the A1 for anywhere , Toby carvery only a few hundred meters away .
Nothing for the price

The staff on reception were lovely, room was clean, bed was comfy. Cheap and cheerful, great for a short stay. I'd stay again. Easy to find, I didn't have breakfast but on arrival the gent at reception asked if I'd like to book in for a breakfast, I declined as I was leaving early but it sounded lovely.
Lack of plug sockets, the only one in the room was the one with the TV plugged in. So nowhere to charge my phone, I had my portable charger with me so didn't matter. But inconvenient. Bath VERY slippy, there was a sign advising of this and to contact reception for a bath mat if needed.

Good breakfast choices, freshly prepared. Friendly helpful waitress. Room adequate and bed comfortable.
The hotel entrance sign is badly positioned, being only a couple of metres before the turn in, giving very little time to warn following traffic of your intentions to turn off the road. It is also very narrow and unlit, and has a very sharp turn immediately after entering. As we were leaving a car wishing to turn in had to wait in the road until we had left as it was impossible for two cars to use the entry at the same time. Not good at all, as they do have enough frontage to make a much better entry/exit.

The paid for full English was of good quality, sausages not full of bulk out rubbish, bacon with full on flavour, in fact it was a damn good morning meal to start the day with. The bed, 2 singles zipped together, was not the most comfortable, a good mattress topper would work well. The staff were helpful to the point of being above and beyond.
The fact that when I booked this Hotel, I was under the impression I was much closer to the City centre, misled by the photos advertising the hotel, but my own fault for not reading ALL the details. As I said before, the bed could have been of a better quality.

Staff friendly and very helpful.
I stayed at this hotel five weeks ago I am a disabled person when I arrived five weeks ago I was very angry and I complained to head office that out of the three disable car parks one had a smoking shed built over it one had two very large and stone flower pots blocking it and the other was a car parked without a blue badge I have to open my car door very wide to get in or out and the normal car parking spaces do not allow me to do this, Head office promised me that they would sort it out, So you can imagine my anger yet again when I arrived very tired after drive from Devon nothing had changed. I will not be staying at this hotel again and all disabled drivers beware.

I booked The Campanile Hotel as we were looking for a reasonably priced overnight stop close to the A1. At check in we were offered breakfast which was included in the price which we weren’t expecting so was a pleasant surprise. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Toiletries were available if needed. We’d definitely stay with Campanile again.
On arrival, the signage and interior paintwork looked tired. However our stay was very pleasant due to the friendly and helpful staff, the cleanliness and comfort of our room and the breakfast was outstanding.

Ground floor room with enough space, decent lighting and a good bathroom. Good value for money and quite close to A1(M) for an overnight stopover, even if I did get a bit lost over the last mile! Nice staff, decent breakfast (although rather weak coffee, and I don't think that I'd have paid the £13 sticker price for it).
Evening meal/restaurant was advertised, but there was no chef on duty on the Saturday night we stayed. That said, there's a sports bar, a pub and a Toby all within about 400m, so it wasn't a major issue. There was no remote for the tv in our room (21), and there wasn't a spare at reception; happily there was an evening of Abba so we didn't need to hop channels!

The room was clean and tidy. The windows could do with a clean but understandable with the weather we have had. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Asian lad on reception went out of his way to do room service as my wife asked for cholate and the machine was being cleaned. He delivered the drink to our room. The staff do a brilliant job considering they are multi tasking.
I was working in Ponteland and the A1 was a pain just like every other commuter was experiencing.

I stayed here about 6 or 7 years ago, it was quite run down then. There has been quite an improvement, especially the room I was in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Especially a young blond girl at breakfast, I forgot to get her name, but I overheard her saying she was 19. She had an excellent attitude to all the guests and was very proficient at her job. I hope she either works her way up through management or realises her dreams. Anyway the room was clean and comfortable. You had to step into a high sided bath to have a shower. For people that have minor mobility issues this will not be easy. Normal amenities like shampoo/shower gel. For what I paid it was about right. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Oh forgot to say, yes the place is dog friendly, they keep dogs on one side of the restaurant. So people that are allergic or not a fan of dogs are kept separate. Which is good. As accommodates both types of guests. As it's really frustrating when hotels say they are dog friendly, but are only dog tolerant (a massive difference) This hotel is dog friendly. Also there are good grass areas near the hotel, with secure footpaths. So you can have a morning or late evening walk. So overall it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, friendly and efficient staff. With good facilities for my dog and I
The only real negative was the lack of power sockets in the room. As most people now have laptops, phones plus tablets. Especially if you are a couple of family traveling. So just be aware, possibly take a 4 gang extension lead or something. I'm sure if they got a sparky to upgrade the sockets to a double gang and with usb ports it wouldn't take much. The only other negative was someone's painting skills with the furniture in the restaurant (using a paint brush) As it's just been painted black, using the wrong paint. The black looks good, just the finish is poor. So looks naff lol.
