Beautiful old building with very interesting history. Feature working lift from 100 years ago.Massively wide staircase.Appealing hotel entrance.

Unfortunately it was not as clean as it should have been .Dirty window in bedroom and dust all over the place.I have added photos of the same.

We arrived pre check in. Told lift was out of order and offered 3rd floor room. Explained that due to recently diagnosed health issue this was not suitable. Immediately offered an alternative room on a lower floor. Very impressed with this solution to an issue we had not previously considered. Thank you so much!

The only thing that was disappointing was that we couldn't afford a second night...

We loved everything! Stunning building with a great history, very close to the centre of town. Lovely staff and a great breakfast. On arrival, check in was seamless despite some complications with my stay logistics - I had booked for work for one night and leisure for another two so wanted to make sure I was in the same room for the duration. The receptionists were very helpful with this. They also helped me switch rooms as the first one had a broken window. They also gave us great advice on our last day about seeing Loch Lomond. The breakfast was a rarity - a la carte! A range of dishes on the menu and all seemed to be very tasty, with attentive service too.

It felt a little tired, maybe in need of a refresh, but it’s not that bad really - it’s forgivable when you consider how old the building is!

This hotel made my trip even wonderful. When it comes to travelling in Scotland, People always said Glasgow is not as good as Edinburgh. However, I completely changed my point of view after staying in this hotel. The location is sweet (a 8-10mins walk from train station) and there are a lot of cute little live band bar nearby!!! The lady at the reception knew it was my first time in Glasgow so nice was she that recommend all the sightseeings that are worth going! Like the food, the cathedral etc. And they were soooo good. Love the elevator so cute cuz u need to close the door by yourself!! The room is comfy, big and kinda give me a mysterious vibe;) would come back again!!

very clean good comfortable bed value for money breakfast was very nice and the dining room was very clean

no kettle in the bedroom or free tea/coffee only products which had to be paid for and as an elderly lady on my own i couldn't get the tops of the water to unscrew. i think water should be available free of charge. the dining room was freezing they had problems with the heating but still wasn't sorted on my second morning. the lift is picturesque but too heavy and cumbersome for an elderly person to manage although the very nice receptionist lu helped me when asked..

Deluxe room was nice and big - with about 20 foot high ceiling, recently decorated. The building is nice with its heritage elevator as a centrepiece of the lobby. Bed was huge and very comfortable.

No USB or power sockets next to the bed (on one side there was power) but no USB in the room. Bathroom was old and cheap - it didn’t match the quality of the bedroom. Staff were nice and trying hard but understaffed and under trained / inexperienced. Restaurant was closed in the evenings presumably due to staffing issues. Aircon looked retrofitted in about 1980… it would only blow a gale of cold air at max speed so had to be off for our whole stay.

Hotel was very close to the city centre, the bus stop was just in front, supermarkets near by. The old building was nice, but need more maintenance.

I didnt like their policy regarding the bathroom towels. I never had one towel for 2 people. When they took it, and my husband jumped in the shower after a long day and there was no towel at all in the bathroom, we find out that was another one hidden in the wardrobe in a bag. I understand that cleaning and changing towels can generate a lot of pollution, but for me it was a bit extreme. The furniture in the room was very outdated and chipped, no fridge in the room.

These are rather small but beautiful rooms that have been updated. The hotel has some lovely old features and the staff are friendly, knowlegeable, and helpful. The beds and pillows are soft -- but spectacularly comfortable.

The lift is an old fashioned one that, unfortunately, stops working if guests forget to close the gate behind them -- a staffer has to run up and close the gate to get it working again. Some of the rooms are stuffy without enough ventillation, but others have wonderful opening windows.

Stay was only one night. Staff were friendly on reception and happy to give information we asked about.

On arrival we were told about the discount we would receive for the car park across the road but wasn't told we had to register car as soon as we arrived. So because we only tried to register on leaving we couldn't get any discount and at £27 for one night it was quite steep. This system different from the one we had used before where you took your ticket to the car park office who would give the discount. Other than that the place was quite quiet and soulless really.

Very central to everything Glasgow has to offer. 10 mins walk from Central Station. Lovely and welcoming staff all with great personalities. Pleasure to stay in a building with character rather than some anonymous corporate monolith. Place had a nice calm feel about it, maybe because on one of its past iterations it was home to an ex Prime Minister no less. 1912 lift added a new experience which is what travel is about. Beds super comfy. Breakfast exceptional value. All items freshly cooked. As I paid for bed & breakfast could have anything and everything off menu despite some items costing £7 or more each If came in off street. It will be tough not looking a pig and ordering 5 items!

There was no gym but knew that when booked. Fantastic gym literally across road so could have got day pass I guess if wanted Would have appreciated cereal option on breakfast menu and no choice of brown bread other than sourdough. I had long journey and wasn't up for walking too much so was going to have dinner at hotel but restaurant closed on Mondays. I'm sure it says that on website however and there are so many places to eat straight outside hotel so not huge problem but would have been nice to have that option.
