Breakfast - friendly and chatty staff who we enjoyed talking to. Room was perfect for allowing pets - we brought a dog who really benefitted from the room being secluded and at the end of the corridor instead of being in the middle and getting upset at people walking past the room all night.. Also the main bedroom area was nice and comfortable. Old fashioned, manor-house style but that's what you're after when you stay somewhere like this!

Two single beds pushed together even though advertised as a double room. Shower not good - not very powerful and cubicle very small. The whole of the bathroom just needs an update - it's a shame as we felt it let the bedroom down a bit. BUT it's all functional and did the job for us! We were staying at the hotel while in the area for a wedding and the room was a good size for this, however none of the mirrors have good enough lighting to do your hair and makeup!

The staff are absolutely lovely. So friendly and helpful. We were visiting family in the area so brought our dog with us and the hotel and staff were very welcoming of him & all the dogs. The breakfast was smashing, hot fresh and lots of it. Our room was spacious, with plenty of room for the dogs bed and gear. It was nicely decorated, clean and warm, comfortable beds and lovely bedlinen. The hotel is a beautiful building and holds some fascinating history. The staircase is gorgeous.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. The en-suite shower room was a little dated and snug, but it served its purpose with lots of hot water, so not an issue.

Beautiful old manor house in lovely grounds, welcoming staff and very interestingly decorated bedroom. The lounge/bar area had a lovely warm atmosphere and a great pint of Worthington's. Choice of food was good and what we had was excellent, the same for breakfast and the main dining room. The whole place was charming.

My only problem was the bed, which obviously is a very personal thing. I prefer a softer mattress, and I give off a lot of heat when I sleep. So, the beautiful, plump duvet was very much wasted on me. If there had been a sheet under the duvet, I could have peeled the duvet over and just used a sheet for a cover. My wife, on the other hand, loved the duvet but did think the mattress was a tad hard. There was nothing else I didn't like! 😊

The hotel was easy to find and close to where I needed to be the next day. There was ample parking, A welcome reception, and my room was very good quality. The food was excellent in the restuarant anfd it was a lovely setting to enjoy a drink outside before hand. Bedroom was comfortable and clean and very well decorated and appointed. I also had a beutiful view.

The promised wifi was non existant but actually it was Ok because it stopped me working and I was able to concentrate on just relaxing. The staff seemed a little thin on the ground at times but were very good when responding to the bell

Staff very welcoming. We brought our young dog and they made her most welcome as well. The hall is very interesting. It's very old with many original features including sloping floors in places. Our beds were really comfortable and breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. The hall/hotel is family run and it shows - the staff are happy and really helpful. We were in the area visiting family and had already had 4 nights in a cottage, we only tagged on a one night stay in the hall but next time we come up it will our first choice for our full stay. If you want a modern hotel this probably wont be for you, but if you want to stay in a old manor hall with friendly helpful staff, comfy beds and a good breakfast then I'd fully recommend it.

We couldn't find anything to dislike.

The hotel was in a lovely setting, with original features. The staff were warm and friendly. The room was comfortable. Ample clothes hanging space and drawers. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice. It was my birthday during our stay and we opted for the Giant Yorkshire pudding filled with roast beef and vegetables... it was amazing! There are 2 beaches within 5 minutes of the hotel, which is a bonus.

The bathroom could do with an extra shelf. There is a tiny shelf over the basin, but once your toothbrush is there, there's no space for toiletries. Also an extra hand towel would have been handy, to dry your hair! The tv was on it's last legs, it was difficult to turn on and off and randomly changed channels when turning the volume up and down. Or maybe it was a problem with the remote! I don't mean to sound negative as we really enjoyed our stay.

The food on offer for breakfast and dinner was excellent. There is a great menu to choose from and the food was well prepared and presented. On top of that we feel the pricing was very reasonable too.

To be honest there wasn't anything that disappointed us. The room we had was great but there were a few uneven stairs to be negotiated which might not suit everyone.

All the staff we met were so helpful and welcoming. When we arrived the last in reception was so lovely, friendly, welcoming, chatty and helpful, she even asked if we needed help with our bags, showed is exactly where our room was. Breakfast was amazing and the staff serving breakfast was so accommodating, friendly and service was fabulous. We stayed in Room 10 and the bed was so comfy, everything was clean and everything was in there that we needed for a 1 night stay. The setting where the hotel is located is do pretty, beautiful grounds and the outdoor bar was an extra added bonus, to be able to sit on the front of the hotel, having a drink in the warm sunshine, looking at the beauty thst surrounded us. Will be definitely recommending.

We loved everything

The room was warm and comnfortable, breakfast was served very efficiently. My evening meal was very enjoyable.

When I went down to the restaurant for my evening meal I would normally expect to be shown to a table to make my choices from the menu. However I was taken to a seating area to wait, then asked go to the bar where I chose my meal. Then waited to be taken back to the restaurant . It just seemed a little odd but it was fine. Maybe it could have been explained to me. The staff are all lovely so no issues at all with them.

what an amazing building. it's old. I find it interesting and love hotels that are different. the staff were all polite professional and friendly the barman refused to sell a customer the huge amount of sambuca he asked for. I thought the barman handled the situation perfectly. I was very impressed we both slept like logs and didn't want to get out of the massive comfortable bed. however we are so pleased we did. there was nothing advertised about the breakfast therefore we had no idea what to expect. the breakfast was honestly the best I've had in my 48 years of life. other guests were also making comment about how fantastic it was. I hardly eat breakfast, but this blew me away and I ate the lot. I will most definitely return.

I have thought hard but cannot say anything negative about this hotel if you expect perfection stay in a chain hotel. this is different
