Bedroom very comfortable & well-appointed. Public areas, eg bars & restaurant nice & spacious & welcoming. Staff very attentive & good throughout. Good range of choices at breakfast. I had the vegetarian 'Special' on the December menu and it was amazing - really substantial, colourful & tasty. The swimming pool complex is fantastic - the best I've come across in a hotel - large really warm pool, good steam room etc. Plenty of (free) parking available.

I don't really like to write anything negative when the overall experience has been so good, but I guess the mattress was a bit soft for me - that could just be personal taste though.

Overall very pleasant indeed , with helpful and cheerful staff. Breakfast really good. The Club really good.( gym and swim )

The exterior ( both levels ) of the building around the main entrance could do with a coat of paint ; looks a little shabby. Unannounced fire alarm test Wednesday morning. Extortionate £5 charge for room service delivery of a meal. ( All of 30 seconds from the kitchen : my Indian restaurant only charges £2 to travel two miles ! ) No fridge in room. Discounts / promotions for returning guests ' ongoing visits ?

Originally I was booked into a double room. In need of being refurbished. Sink in bathroom large score which may harbour germs. Television as screen damaged. Telephone out of order so I had to gain access via my mobile to speak to the receptionist. However Jess on the main reception desk was excellent. She arranged an upgrade to a superior room. She also met me at my initial room and helped me with my luggage making sure I was happy with the change. Very professional and a valuable member of the staff. Following my change of room I had a lovely stay. Great breakfast and staff. I do think that a total refurbishment of one side of the hotel needs to be a plan for the near future.old

Staff were very helpful and got us a fridge in the room when asked . Location very good and easy to get to.. The breakfast was 1st class.

On the first night we ate at the restaurant , I had sheperds pie and my wife ordered a steak When the food was served my wife's steak was as tough as boot leather and was sent back after informing the staff. There were no spa treatments even though the hotel advertised spa treatments. The hot tub was in a bad condition with broken drain covers around the edge possibly causing a bad injury should your foot fall through it..

Location and view are lovely, food was delicious and staff were exceptionally helpful and courteous. building was quirky and interesting, room was comfortable and bed was comfy too. plenty of parking , German Doner Kebab restaurant up the road..

we discovered that a wedding reception was being held in the hotel after we arrived, which was fine, but we were woken a few times during the night by some excited guests, just maybe check in future or ask for a room away from the guests. otherwise all good. green bar is full need separate lights above the tea and coffee area, had to put the 'big light' on each time. just a minor one though. I'm still typing because the little green bar isnt full. now it is.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Our room was fine, clean with a very comfy bed and quiet. Dinner was excellent as was the breakfast buffet. The Club - pool was ok. The sauna and steam, although very small were great. Staff were friendly.

We arrived at sunset and wanted to have a drink looking at the stunning view but weren't allowed to go and have a drink in the restaurant (where the great views are) even though it wasn't busy at all and we were going to eat there later. Also, the bar said they didn't know what negroni's were and couldn't make them! (think this was a newish team member). Wine at dinner was served to us by a young woman who plonked the bottle on the table and walked off without opening or pouring it. The pool and surround needs a bit of tlc, very tired looking. Disappointlingly the jacuzzi wasn't working.

We paid less than £150 for a double room with breakfast included. I thought the value for money was great as the resort was quite big with excellent facilities (like gym, pool, bar and restaurant) and a really spacious room. There was also a quite nice breakfast buffet.

1. Location wasn’t too central in Portsmouth. Although the hotel has a nice car park, I’d suggest to drive 20 mins away to Portsmouth Park & Ride and use the bus service to visit Portsmouth city centre. 2. The hotel felt too busy but I think this was because there was a wedding on the day we arrived and a few other events that were taking place there. If you like quiet hotels this might not be for you.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay in a superior double room. The room was clean and modern with lovely walk in shower. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of both cold and hot offerings. Room service was delicious and speedy. We also enjoyed a Sunday roast which we can highly recommend. Drinks at the bar are on the expensive side but always to be expected at a hotel bar. The leisure facilities were good, the pool and Jacuzzi were clean but I would recommend bringing sliders or flip flops for both the changing room and poolside. Having read some horror reviews on the hotel I can honestly say I was worried about what we may find but we had a great time with no concerns and can’t wait to book our next trip!

We were woken up at 9am by a housekeeper playing very loud music in a room near us. Breakfast was slightly confusing as there was a sign asking guests to wait to be seated so we stood for a couple of minutes before we were just told to grab any seat by a rude gentleman working in the restaurant. Ran out of eggs and pastries pretty quick, staff seemed more interested in getting their own breakfast rather than restocking for customers or cleaning tables. We were told to find a table ourselves but the majority were dirty from previous guests. The bedroom was nice however the headboard was thick with dust, one bedside table had a sticky mark on it and the toilet wasnt the cleanest we have seen before. Could have done with a little more attention to detail

Breakfast was everything you’d expect from a self service buffet, a bit scarce on fresh fruit, that just my preference.

Our third visit, next time I’ll request a room away from the car park that serves The Club as we were awakened very early with vehicles and loud car music as the clients arrive for there morning gym etc., we also had a key card that didn’t work so every time we returned to our room we had a long walk back to reception. Just a bit unfortunate when you’re in your late 70s, however all in all it’s a great location and will probably use again in the future. But make requests for a ground floor and away from car park!!!
