This was staying in a pub rather than a small hotel and should be reviewed as such. Free parking available, good breakfast options exactly as advertised. Limited but free Continental Breakfast (toast, jams, marmalade, cereals and hot drinks included or lovely cooked breakfast at reasonable price cooked while you wait. The rooms are big and airy with iron and ironing board available to use. Friendly staff and a code for late access after hours. Excellent value for money as a base to visit local friends and nearby Cotwolds and a trip to Bath. We would return.

It's an old traditional pub, so the rooms and back stairs etc reflect that. Bit hard work carrying up the suitcase. Everything was clean, but the accomodation was tired, not modern. BBC reception didn't work on the TV but we weren't there to watch TV. But I knew what I was buying. It wasn't oversold as modern and up to date and and I don't want these comments to reflect badly. We absolutely got what was advertised and what we paid for at a great price.

The pub was fantastic, with some excellent food. Staff were nice, helping with every concern I had. Check-in was quick and easy and they had a car park on site for the car. Room was comfortable enough, and just right for what I needed. Location was fantastic - only a few miles from where I was going and the town itself had everything needed. So happy with my stay I've booked it again for next year

The room was very basic, but enough for what I wanted. Could be doing with a bit of a refurb as it looked a bit dated. The bathroom was very small, but again adequate

The little market town, where the Saracen's Head is placed is a gem - very pretty. The Saracen's Head itself is a characterful Tudor building. The bar and dining room were characterful too. Plenty of local ales, a varied menu and lovely staff and locals. The evening meal was delicious. All "homemade", fresh ingredients and plentiful portions.

My mattress was uncomfortable - I could feel springs making it lumpy. I spoke to a staff member in the morning and was told that the mattress is new, so it could do with a topper if replacement is not possible. I also missed having a bedside table, lamp and seat.

The warm welcome from the hosts and the locals. Everyone was lovely and chatty. The town has many old buildings and all the facilities you need. The price for 2 nights for me and my son en route to Silverstone was the same price as the car parking at the track. Excellent choice of beers at a really good price. Didn't eat there as travelling around but the food looked good. The room was a bit tired but had a TV and good shower. The window opened out to the Town Square which is pretty. Will definitely stay again. Kind of sad to leave

Absolutely nothing

For what we paid the room was more than fine, but having stayed in a much nicer room at the same place previously, it was clear why it was so reasonable! It's a lovely old pub though, the staff are really welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent - it's well worth treating yourself to a breakfast upgrade because it's fantastic!

Room was a little bit tired, as was the mattress, but I still slept well. Having stayed in a much nicer room previously I suspect this one is on the list for a refresh soon.

Loved the location, the building was amazing. Staff where helpful..food value for money. Comfy clean beds. Quite hotel so a good night's sleep.

We couldn't park in the hotels car park, as it was full with cars parked so far apart taking up many unnecessary spaces. Couldn't eat in the evening as restaurant was full but that's not the pubs fault (we should have booked) but the friendly staff member sent us to a lovley Indian. Rooms and hallways could do with a referb.

Friendly staff, comfortable room, nice toiletries and towels, great location, convenient parking, tasty breakfast (sugar free blue Alpen could be offered aside of the red Alpen). This would help diabetic and pre-diabetic guests, 75% of customers.

Check out time is 1030am, quite early. A bit more time would be helpful please. Shower curtain needs a good clean. Lots of slamming doors; these could be fitted with slow closing mechanisms.

It was everything you would expect from a budget hotel. The room was clean ,the linen was good quality, small en suite with a shower and toilet , tv ,good size wardrobe and chests of drawers . Complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee. Continental breakfast included in price but well worth the extra for a cooked option . Staff are friendly . If you dine in the evening here the food is fantastic ,good value for money ,plenty of variety and good service . WiFi available code given on check in, Separate entrance with code for after 11pm at night . Free parking out the back of the property and a very nice pub garden . Perfect for an overnight stay and a very good price

Few minor things the room had a TV but no remote to work it,so we were unable to have that on Tea and coffee tray only had 1 wooden stirrer no teaspoons. The chest of drawers the fronts were coming off. Nice wallpaper but paintwork in window and other areas in need of attention I have to say none of this effected our stay but its an observation we made and was asked for in the feed back request.

The property is very easy to find. It has ample parking in the rear of the hotel. You’d need to check in via the bar, the staff are cheerful and friendly during check in and check out. The soap and shampoo given were lovely. Ample coffee and tea provided in the room.

No place to hang clothes like a closet or coat stand .. granted the room is small, but maybe it can be looked into to come up with a creative solution.

Staff were lovely. Room was clean & perfectly good for an over night stay on a work event.

Room did smell a bit funny when I arrived ! But honestly not a drama & could live with that, just opened a window! Pub only serves food until 8pm, I arrived at 10 to 8 and the staff were fab & made sure I got a sandwich and some chips to keep me going. So not really a negative, my bad for not checking when they stopped serving food!
