The fact I turned up 5 minutes before check in to be told there was a treat waiting in my room! Well, I don't win raffles nor the lottery, so I was curious. Ok, it wasn't either of the above mentioned but it was I had been chosen as the chosen "guest of the day" I had a bottle of wine and some nibbles. It was the fact that there is the focus on guests and it's not just a bed for the night. Very chuffed at this gesture. And, unbeknown to the reception staff, I am challenged with my limited mobility, but hadn't said anything during the booking, so when the member of staff said I was on the ground floor, that was a little like winning a raffle 😂

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lots on the menu to choose from with very good prices. Loved the breakfast buffet, too! A big selection of food to choose from, and it was great to have this on until 12 pm. The room was lovely and clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were comfy. It was nice to see there were extra pillows in the wardrobe if needed. The bathroom was better than expected as i was expecting an open-plan bathroom in the bedroom. Was a treat to have checkout time at 12 pm.

The lift was clean, and you can tell it's cleaned often, but it did smell old and fusty. I can only presume it was the flooring in the lift or maybe the lift shaft itself. The lighting over the tables in the reception area were a little bright for an evening meal, if these could be dimmed then it would feel more cosy and not feel like you're on display in the window. Both points weren't very big issues, though.

The location was really good, close to train station and the city centre. Basic facilities, but very clean!

Very helpful and friendly staff. Reception always staffed. Food available until 10pm and bar snacks at other times. A safe short walk from Hull Paragon Interchange. Warm room and lovely big showers in ensuite. Very comfortable bed. Toiletries plentiful. Tea, coffee and hairdryer in room. Good free WiFi

On my first trip although the room was clean it was a bit tired looking and carpet stained but on my second trip the room I had felt fresher. Power socket next to the bed and a bench seat with cushion for sitting and watching TV. This was missing in the first room I had.

This is a hotel with rooms that remind me of the cabins on P and O ferries. It is functional, but its location is superb in the middle of the city. It is close to shops, the Venue, restaurants and the train station. As always here, its the staff that make the difference. This time Maisee (who I have met before) was fantastic at giving me city tips and storing my bags on the last day so I could shop before catching my train. Definitely staying again

You can't control the traffic outside - but it was noisy with the window open.

Have stayed here before and overall. doesn’t disappoint . Simplistic but decent sized rooms inc bathrooms and shower . Very very close to Station and quick easy walk to Centre , Old Town and Marina . Staff friendly and efficient .

Nothing serious but for me the Breakfast disappointed , quality-wise . Much as view from window shouldn’t be important , mine was overlooking a yard where commercial bins were kept : plus overlooked by a couple of other rooms to the side ! Was made more frustrating as I was originally booked on 3rd ( ie highest ) floor as per my request , but changed for some reason on check -in.

The location was good as it had many bars, shops and restaurants close by. We were visiting Hull Minister and it was close so the location was suitable.

The whole hotel smelled of Cannabis and many of the other clientele were obviously using drugs. I understand several of the other groups were Hen and Stag Dos and other Party Groups but it felt a bit unsafe and inappropriate, especially as I was travelling with elderly family members. We sat in the bar area and there was a man who was clearly causing distress to other people, including us, and he was not approached by any staff members. In the end, we left the public bar area and went to our room as we felt uncomfortable and unsafe. I would be more comfortable returning in future if I was aware that the Drug use problem was being addressed at this property. This is a shame as I am usually very impressed by Ibis properties.

Location would have been good as it’s a short walk from the station, unfortunately there was significant traffic due to road works so as the AC was not working and it was a hot day the room was roasting and had to open window, this meant I had the pleasure of listening to the traffic, roadworks and the very drunk ppl outside the pubs. The room was ok needs some maintenance doing and with the room costing more than days inn and Travelodge you would have expected it to have been kept on top of. Again staff fantastic they can only work with what they have.

The rooms are spacious, clean and well laid out, tea and coffee etc in the room also. The staff were lovely, nothing is too much to ask, we were a little warm and the receptionist sorted us a fan free of charge, customer service felt natural and not forced which was really pleasant. The hotel is ideally located close to everything (marina, centre, rail station, theatre etc). To top it off the bed was extremely comfortable so had a great night's sleep too :)

Nothing, our stay was fantastic

I went to Hull to go to a classical concert at the City Hall. As I hadn't been to Hull for about 10 years I thought it was the chance to have a good look around. I needed an hotel near to the centre and I remembered where the Ibis was near the railway station where I would be arriving.

I really liked the Ibis. Unpretentious but had all I required. The only thing I was very disappointed with was the breakfast. The staff when I arrived in the morning were very welcoming and helpful but the food was awful. I chose orange juice - great. The coffee was the usual machine type - not good. The worst part was the cooked food. Although my knife had a serrated edge I could not cut the bacon because it was so dried out under the heater and so was the hash brown. The tomato was OK. Had a bit of trouble with the toaster but a member helped me. That was the best part of the meal.
