Very warm welcome from staff. All facilities as described. This is most definitely not a 3 star it deserves much more all staff very friendly and helpful nothing is any trouble . The room was beautiful and everything you would need . An added touch not that we used was an array of crisps and biscuits with an honesty box just incase you were peckish later . We were bed and breakfast 🥞 which we could not fault at all all cooked to perfection and also there was a continental array available also. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a restful stay . Thanks to all the staff .

The only thing I would say is we turned central heating off as rooms are very warm . Not a complaint in any way just a personal preference.

Excellent service and welcoming ambience. Breakfast was superb. We felt we mattered. Staff were cheerful and went above and beyond. The room had great lighting, including where I sat to do my hair and makeup when so often it's like being in a cave. There were sockets handy for the hairdryer and I could actually sit to do my hair and makeup. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and well cared for.

Being picky here: my husband thought the coffee served at breakfast was average and thought they should try another brand. We were surprised by the number of vehicles that used the road through the village, so I suggest earplugs for light sleepers who sleep with the window open.

We would highly recommend this place , it is just of the A1m , near to a lot of amenities, eg, Harrogate , Knarsborough , York , Ripon . In a beautiful village we went for a little break for my husbands birthday and to meet up with family , from arriving we were welcomed by a lovely girl , we were taken to our room , it was gorgeous, the bathroom was amazing with bath and very large shower , his n her sinks , beautiful room with very large comfy bed , the room was warm, comfortable , exceptionally clean ,with tea & coffee making facilities, TV , beautiful oak furniture and lovely decor with attention to detail ,making it feel like home from home , family came on the night to join us to have an amazing evening meal , where the staff were very attentive, pleasant, we were quickly served , the meal ,drinks were good value for the quality which was of a high standard . We had breakfast , which consisted of cereal, coisant, fruit, yoghurt, jams , then full English or various cooked breakfast menu , orange or apple juice and as much tea and coffee as we wanted , again the service was friendly , quick , and cooked to a very high standard , making our overall stay there excellant and we would definitely return and recommend. The blue bell is exceptionally clean throughout ,tastefully decorated, and all the staff are very pleasant and accommodating . Thank you for making my husbands birthday a special memory

It wasn't a dislike, as there was nothing we didn't dislike. It's more of a recommendation to advise for there to be coasters in the bedroom , as we could see previously someone had put a hot cup on your beautiful oak furniture and we thought that was such a shame as everything was immaculate

The staff’s enthusiasm was infectious with a nothing was a problem attitude, the ambiance was great and c/w generous portions of home cooked food from the restaurant was greatly appreciated. We stayed in one of their four boutique rooms, which was super comfy and highly recommended. The breakfast was excellent with loads of choice all of which were freshly made.

The Internet was a problem with limited access in the room; however this can be a blessing in disguise!!! Being a ‘very big lad’ the shower in room 1 was rather restricted – maybe ask ahead if you need another solution.

The staff were amazing - so helpful, attentive and friendly. The room was immaculate and comfortable and an offer was made to service the room on Christmas Day which I would not have expected. A lovely Christmas gift and a complimentary bottle of champagne were delightful and unexpected touches. As for the food it was exceptional-the best Christmas lunch ever. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and all food in the restaurant was excellent. A perfect place to stay for Christmas

Nothing could have enhanced our stay as it was perfect

The welcome we had we did live down the road from the Bell and we both agreed what a Transformation the new owners have done. The rooms are super and i would not add anything. The meal we had was the best we have had since arriving back to the Uk as we live in New Zealand. Even better later when we surprised friends that live just up the Road. Thank you guys this was my second stay with you hope to get back and stay again. Breakfast was also so good. Linda and Martin Clements

Second visit to room number 2, and it is still as good as the first visit. Very comfortable huge bed in a large room. Plenty of toilet rolls, hand wash, shower/hair gel, hand cream, tea/coffee etc and a couple of bottles of mineral water. We ate in the restaurant with friends and we all enjoyed our meals. Breakfast used to have to be ordered the night before but now you don't have to prebook breakfast or the time it is required. Lots of free parking. Very handy for a stop over from the A1. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Nothing.

The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed. There were complimentary biscuits, water, tea/coffee etc, shower gel that can be used as shampoo, hand wash, body lotion, tissues, plenty of toilet rolls, fan and large glass glasses instead of plastic cups. The heating in our room was individually controlled by a thermostat in the room. The food was delicious, breakfast was great, you have to order the night before and state a time for breakfast but that is not a problem, there are only four bedrooms so no point in doing a buffet. A pen in each room to fill the breakfast form out would be great, I had two in my bag but neither worked. The evening meals were very good with good portion sizes, they went out of their way to do a batter without beer to accommodate one of our party. Very friendly staff. Plenty of parking with easy access to the A1. I would definitely return if I was in the area and I would recommend The Blue Bell to family and friends.

Nothing.

The room was well presented and a very comfortable bed As our shower didn't work we were upgraded to a larger room our second night. Wonderful! Staff were friendly but not overly attentive. Some would find this a negative but we didn't mind being left alone and signalling when we wished to be served. Food overall was very good (breakfasts and Sunday lunch superb, special main was small )

I was a little disappointed there wasn't a celebration plate on my husband's birthday after emailing and telling staff on day. But we had generous Sunday lunch portions and the room upgrade was a treat.

Easy parking. Quiet location. Good size room(number 1) although the shower was a bit small even for me and couldnt adjust the height. Bed super comfy. Food at night was excellent and also breakfast.

One small point...filling in a breakfast pre order and the fact that first thing it days is you can have one hot drink and one fruit juice or starter etc. Never been anywhere and we go lots and lots of travels, where hot drink at breakfast is restricted or pay extra. We didnt need one but just felt it let down an excellent stay at such a nice place.... Still 10/10 though.
