Sofa bed very uncomfortable- the springs could be felt in your back when you lay down Bar was very quiet during dinner but with sky news on the Tv with volume up and American elections on and flooding in Spain. Rather serious and upsetting. Would have been nice to have had music, ambient music or something more light hearted Poor communication re booking the pool. We didn’t know we had to book until we arrived but luckily there was space. The children loved it.

Breakfast choices etc excellent, staff were generally very friendly and bubbly in the Bar/ Restaurant. They were very attentive, although, Reception was more "run of the mill" appearing to be more standardised lip service and minimum social contact, but still pleasant enough. Evening meals were good quality as was breakfast. Bed was nice and comfortable - Enjoyable stay as a few of us were on a weekend course.

I wish that i had taken more advantage of the facilities such as Sauna/ Pool/ Gym, but was tired and rushed for time to meet with my party. So no reflection upon the hotel.

The staff were great, nothing was too much. Rita was excellent with our children at breakfast and was so kind. The room was large and comfortable. The gym and pool are great and everything you'll need. Waitrose is just down the road.

Pool swimming times for kids were quite restrictive at the Nuffield gym, there was no fridge in the room and food choices in the bar were a little limited. The kids' playground was broken which was a shame because it would have been a great addition.

Accommodated our needs (and dog) when we needed to book last minute. Room was lovely clean and homely. Heating was great. TV amazing, nice room features. Grounds around the hotel was beautiful and staff were soooo friendly. Couldn't do enough to accommodate any needs we had and went above and beyond.

Price was expensive considering we arrived past midnight and was out about 10am. I would have thought later booking meant cheaper prices. No dog bowls and no drinking water in the room but staff happily supplied with alternative for a dog bowl and had plenty of water downstairs.

The hotel and surrounding manor buildings were beautiful and unique. Everything was clean and cozy. Food from the bar and during the breakfast was delicious. As I was a guest to the wedding event that took place there, I could see that the staff there gave their all to make it run smoothly and that everything could be perfect, everyone was friendly and lovely.

Wi-fi was a bit tricky to use and finicky but as it was an older building with thick stone walls, sometimes understandably that can affect it as well.

An old, characterful building in a lovely location. I was warmly greeted upon arrival and everything was explained to me. I paid for what was described as a small, cozy room so was expecting a small space but was pleased to find a decent sized room with good facilities. A small shower room with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The bar is spacious and comfortable. Lytton's Restaurant was nice for an evening meal with a good menu, also available in the bar. A nice breakfast is served offering plenty of choice. All the staff members I met were really friendly and helpful.

My bedroom could have done with modernizing and the air-con unit fixing or replacing. Unable to supply gluten-free bread at breakfast.

The bed was so comfortable!!! Room was large and nicely decorated. Although we couldn’t open our window. However there was already a fan in the room. Although one or two minor issues we would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was nice, however the quality of the sausages for me weren’t there. The fried eggs were quite oily and pastry’s were hard and a bit stale. We went down for breakfast at 8 so there was still an hour left of service. I would understand it a bit more if we were last in.

The breakfast was as any IHG hotel, which well stocked with full breakfast tea and coffee, and many choices of fruit cereal etc. And the setting of the hotel and ambiance really made it special, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the beds were very comfortable with two quality hard and soft pillow.

The sinc unit in my bathroom was set far too low, I have no other complaints, the shower worked well the towels were top quality. I cannot fault this hotel.

The breakfast was fantastic, staff service absolutely perfect and the location was great. Our room was completely mad, with a long corridor - it was all a bid jaded and past its sell-by date, but it was fun!

The hotel is a bit "old hat" and needs some loving care...examples were the shower floor was bouncy (I thought I was going to fall through it), the TVs were hanging off the wall and half of the side lights didnt work etc. However, the amazing staff and fun atmosphere more than compensated.

The food was very good. The room ,corridors and public toilets was spotless. The gardens the surrounding areas was very well maintained. The hotel's atmosphere was amazing. We definetly go back in spring time.

The mattress was too soft almost feels like a water bed. Personaly i would love to read about the hotel and original building's history in the hotel not just online. I saw couple of photos but that's it maybe i missed it.
