Very warm welcome, late at night, after a long drive. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything we needed (and more) was provided. The toiletries in the bathroom were particularly nice, and the waterfall shower was excellent. There was a Tunnocks tea-cake on the tea tray - what more can you ask for?? The cooked breakfast was substantial - it has to be preselected but I was able to specify all my little foibles (like cold beans, burnt toast) and it included haggis. There was also a selection of cereal and yoghurts. The location is perfect when travelling up the M74, close enough to the motorway that you aren't making a big detour, but far enough away that it is quiet. We would definitely stay again.

We had to choose a breakfast time when we arrived, and because we arrived late there were only two time slots left, so it was lucky that we were able to get a slot that suited as we had a very tight timescale on the morning we left. We are not sure what would have happened had there been no time that suited - I suppose we would have just had to have had cereal rather than a cooked breakfast. The room was very cold when we arrived because we arrived so late and it was about 2 degrees outside, so although we appreciate that its difficult to get it right for everyone, and an overhot room is uncomfortable, we would have liked the radiator to perhaps have been on low before we arrived just to take the edge off.

I''ve been looking for some time for a reasonably priced B & B close to Annan & this is easily the best I have found. My room was spotless, with plenty of space, & the double-glazed windows meant it was quiet - an important feature, given the Village Inn's closeness to both the A74 (M) motorway & the main railway line to Glasgow. An excellent full Scottish breakfast is available to choose from &, last but not least, Alison is a friendly & welcoming hostess.

Driving to & from Annan by the shortest route is best done in daylight, as the first part of the road is very potholed. However, this won't affect most people staying here, who will very likely arrive via the quiet & underused B7076.

Alison was very accommodating, loved the in house bar for guests and able to have takeaway as no eateries in the village (I drove the 4 miles to the nearest restaurant) The breakfast was fantastic very large portions and choice and yummy. Great spot for a travel stopover, surprisingly quiet being so close to the motorway

the TV was fixed so I was unable to turn it towards the bed, so had to veiw side on, but their wasn't anywhere else to have it

We have two dogs and Alison the host was so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. She has a lot of repeat business, which says it all. The full English/Scottish breakfast was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. There is a cosy bar for the guests in the evening and a very good reasonably priced inn for evening meal a short way away. We will definitely stay there if we come to Scotland again.

Nothing. Ticked all the boxes for us.

As a multi time visitor to The Village Inn I have nothing but good things to say about my stay. Alison is a wonderful host willing to help or provide assistance in almost any way if she possibly can. I am sure she has the word hospitality running through her veins. As always whenever I leave I am looking forward to my next visit. Excellent food, lovely clean rooms and comfy beds. What more can you really expect from a bed & breakfast? I would give it 5 ***** everyday of the week. Thankyou Alison.

I can honestly think of nothing I didn't like (even the weather played nice on this stay)

Amazing place to stay to break up a long journey when returning home to Scotland. Beautiful countryside location with seating area outside to enjoy a drink or two after a long drive. Large and comfortable room which was spotlessly clean with beautiful decor. Great bathroom and shower with good quality toiletries provided. Delicious full Scottish breakfast to set us up for the day. Alison is a very friendly, accommodating host and you will not be disappointed if you book a stay here. Although evening meals are not served, Alison provides the use of a microwave together with crockery and cutlery in the dining area.

Everything , what a great place to come and stay , The Family room i stayed in was massive with a great en suite and a great powerful shower which blows the cobwebs away. Proper Scottish Breakfast in the morning was superb even had haggis on the plate and the host was very accommodating , cheerful , and welcoming. i do like that you got the use of a microwave so evening meals wasn't a problem would recommend anyone to stay , Great find..

A pool Table or Dartboard would be great but that's just being picky ...

The Village Inn might not look much from the outside but do not be fooled as it’s a great place for a stay in the beautiful Scottish borders. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with lovely views across the Scottish countryside. Location - just off the motorway - is peaceful with easy parking. Breakfast freshly cooked and enjoyable. Venue very dog friendly. Alison is a great host and made us feel very welcome.
