Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful facility.

Toilet in room 17 didn’t flush solid stool.

Cleanliness Evening meal was superb but just add a few more biscuits and maybe a celery stick to the cheese board

Breakfast seemed unorganised, cooking fresh bacon, sausage, eggs is a nice idea but not practical when 20+ people arrive at 730-45

The staff, location and facilities were good.

Litter in the grounds and a general lack of exterior maintenance spoiled the general atmosphere as did the very low level of sound proofing between second floor rooms

- very good location just at the entrance of Penzance, convenient for driving and walking into town - the hotel is on the slopes of a hill overlooking the port and St Michael’s Mount. The common areas and rooms have excellent views - breakfast was excellent with the chef cooking eggs on the spot as per your preference - the staff was very good.

- the parking is limited and costs extra - which we knew - but it’s also on a slope and rather narrow. People driving SUVs, vans etc might consider parking elsewhere - our room had erratic hot water but the staff did sort it out, so it was ok in the end.

I liked the quaintness of the building. The grounds were nice and the views from dining room, lounge and patio were fantastic. Room was clean and comfortable and serviced each day. Coffee, tea and snacks were provided which was a nice extra touch. Even though I had a more economical room, the view from windows was of a bamboo forest and flowers - very pleasant.

The only reason I didn't give an "excellent" rating was that the walk up to the hotel was a steep hill which is a little difficult with a suitcase. Could be challenging for an elderly person or someone with mobility issues. However, I suspect this could be the case for most hotels in Penzance as it is a very hilly area.

Location is great as only a short walk from the town centre. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable, with an excellent view overlooking St. Michael's Mount (not all rooms overlook but I would stay here again in another room). Washing/toilet facilities were good, with a powerful shower, despite being on the top floor. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast range was good, with good hot veggie options, hot drinks, cereals, fruit, etc. Good range of facilities in room, including hairdryer, iron, TV, dry cleaning facility (to order).

The hotel was undergoing some renovation work, which meant hot breakfast options were not available for a couple of mornings, but understand due to the time of our stay. Would return again during a busier period. Noticed some aspects of the room needed a bit more cleaning (around windows), but again, this would not deter us from returning. Sometimes staff weren't immediately available, but again, this was understandable considering the aforementioned works and time of stay. Again staff were attentive and helpful when needed.

The room was very comfortable and I did have a sea view. However the heating was inadequate as there was condensation on the windows. The service and staff were excellent and were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

The food. Meat eaters were catered for at breakfast but for vegetarians the only cooked option was a choice of eggs ie scrambled, poached or an omelette, the latter being the best option. Vegans were not catered for. There were no vegetarian sausages and no hash browns.

The heated outdoor pool, how chilled out and helpful the staff were and how quiet the place is. The cleaning lady and the night man were super amazing, both went out of their way to help. Lovely views and a tasty breakfast. I would stay here again.

The add ons to your dining bill, it suggests ‘optional’ but it’s kind of not once it’s on there. Rarely will people ask for it to be removed without feeling like a horrid person. Thus feeling forced and not my style at all.

Even though I arrived late...was able to book in after reading the instruction on the notice on the desk. Had to ring the person....who later said she didn't get the call as her phone sound was off...did read instruction to say find the person in the resturant...no issue about it though. Was quick and efficient in getting checked in. Excellent place and will book at same place again

No one there for checking out. Had to search for the person. Perhaps instruction letting us know what to do would help when checking out.

Breakfast was very good and we ate in the restaurant one night which was great too. The views from our bedroom were great and the room facilities top notch! Ironing board, iron and hairdryers in the room too. Location was fab a five minute walk from the town and the train station

We found the young lady in reception to be very abrupt when we arrived. The 'heated' pool was very cold so we didn't go in it. They obviously spent alot of money on doing the rooms up but spoilt it slighting by having a cheap plastic toilet seat! It is located on a very steep hill so walking back was an issue.
