The bath was brilliant and views just beautiful. Croissants and biscuits were lovely as was the tea. But I’m a sucker for fresh milk with my tea.. Bed/ linen all comfy. Water was a good touch.

Had to fiddle around to get radiators working as it was cold on arrival.

We had a fantastic weekend at the Sail Loft. Our room was comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a stunning sunrise view each morning. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a delicious meal upon arrival and the staff were very helpful and accommodating when I inquired about gluten free options. The shower was wonderful very spa like with great water pressure. We loved that we could open the windows, listen to the waves and enjoy the fresh air.

Although the windows in bathroom were frosted, a blind or shade would have felt more private. Not much to fault as we greatly enjoyed our stay.

The Sail Loft is in the perfect spot with a great view out the back.walking distance to the beautiful town & the fabulous unspoiled harbour...it has great seafood huts & you can get a ferry to Walberswick. Staff were very polite & helpful, We were in room number 2... it was very clean & comfortable with a great complimentary selection of hot drinks, biscuits & water daily also a croissant which was a nice touch as breakfast isn't served until 09:30. The breakfast was amazing so fresh & delicious. We ate here every evening they have a great menu & the food was fantastic.We have already recommended The Sail Loft to friends, family & we will be booking again in the future.

We knew there was no restaurant or bar on the premises due to flooding last year but the room was very well decorated and clean, spacious and well equipped. Shower room was very good too. Tom phoned me soon after booking to ensure we were fully aware of the restaurant closure which showed good service. I inadvertently left a bag behind when checking out and I rang Tom a few hours later when we realised what had happened. Tom said he would check it out and rang me back soon afterwards to confirm the bag had been found and has offered to retain it until I next visit Suffolk in a few weeks time. The Sail Loft is not in the centre of the village but it only takes 10-15 minutes to walk in, which we did both evenings we stayed. The location was very good for walks to Walberswick, around Southwold fens and along the coast

It was self check-in, which has its draw backs.

Great location and good value for Southwold. Food was superb. Best risotto I've had in ages. Breakfast choices were varied and interesting

We had a nice room BUT unfortunately as we were over the kitchen for most of the day we could hear the kitchen extractor fans. Thankfully they were turned off around 9pm so we got some restful sleep. Room 1. The mirror half hidden under the TV was a bit pointless and distracting. I'd remove it tbh.

The room was lovely and spacious and the facilities were great. Host was very helpful and informative when telling us about checking in and making sure we knew about the restaurant being closed due to flooding. We had tea/coffee/biscuits and croissants topped up each day which was a nice touch. Really good location, close to the town/beach etc.

The restaurant wasn't open (but can't be helped with being flooded) and the walls were a bit thin (one night we could hear the people in the room next door for a while and their TV but not the other 2 days)

I like the position of the property, ie between the town and the harbour, and across from the beach. It has a pleasant atmosphere, the food is very good and the staff very friendly and helpful.

I found the pillows very uncomfortable, they squashed down to almost nothing. Walls very thin, could easily hear neighbours.

The Sail Loft is in the perfect location for us, we loved being across the road from the beach, you can walk in one direction to the pier another to the harbour and another to the high street and we enjoyed getting the little ferry (rowing boat) across to Walberswick. The staff at The Sail Loft were so accommodating and the food was fabulous. The room was excellent, clean and comfortable with lovely views from both aspects.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast of granola, Greek yoghurt drizzled with honey & strawberries followed by two poached eggs on a slice of lovely bread on both mornings which tasted superb & were nicely presented. The shower was a choice of a Rain shower Or handheld whichever was your preferred choice with plenty of hot water. There were French doors which opened onto a decked private balcony overlooking the view beyond & which I left open during the night as it was warm during my stay here. Lovely white bath sheets & bath mat. I had a wonderful firm mattress & two comfy pillows to sleep on. A reasonable wardrobe/drawer unit with deep drawers & two bedside chests which were very adequate for my stay. There was plenty of light coming into the room which made it appear spacious. Bottled water together with a glass were provided on each bedside chest for guests. Plug sockets were positioned above the console table for the kettle & my curling tongs.

The furnishings were a little tired for my choice. The flooring had been badly fitted with frayed edges along the skirting boards. The curtains were dark brown & looked & felt like faux suede. Not ideal as it is a coastal location. It didn`t give a holiday vibe to me. The yellow cushions on the bed were a bit flat instead of being full & plump. The black bedside lamps & lampshades didn`t give out much light. Take your own shower gel as only shampoo & conditioner were provided. Luckily I had taken my own.

The breakfast was from 9.30am (perfect for us) and offered good choices. We chose good-quality smoked salmon, spinach, muffins and nice homemade hollandaise sauce. The manager Tom was very hospitable and helpful - for example taking in our bags for the following day.

The balcony could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly before us, but as we didn’t even expect to have one - and it was so welcome in a heatwave - we were not exactly complaining!
