Great location with fantastic views of the harbor. Some reviews make too much of the steps up to the property. Unless you have a lot of luggage or are in some way disabled, it is no big deal. I'm an out of shape 74 yo and had no problem with them.
For a B+B, the breakfast was nothing special.

Location was amazing. The staff was exceptional. The rooms and property are an old (probably historic) building, but everything was very clean. They don't do hot breakfast anymore- since a Covid I think- but they still offer coffee and fruit and there are many breakfast options nearby.
My only suggestion would be to folks who have disabilities getting up steps to maybe choose another property to stay at. You have to go up LOTS of steps to get to your room which didn't bother my wife and I but I could see where it would be a deal breaker for some.

I like the new hostess and her uncle, and the location. I don't have to get a taxi with that added expense of an unexpected night in St. Thomas. I also liked how Saida canceled the reservation I'd made for the wrong night.
Soon as I closed the door after checking in the power went out. Really need some kind of rechargeable light or lantern in each room with all these power outages. I use Coleman lanterns. Rechargeable fans as well, maybe available at the front desk. I wish there was a refrigerator in the room. Of course, WAPA might not agree!

I absolutely loved the location and beauty of this hotel. It’s a very authentic island experience right in the middle of everything in Charlotte Amalie. I read a few reviews where people said that the staff was rude.. I had no such experience. I was able to meet the owner as well. They all treated us like family and made us feel welcomed. Very conversational. This is a very humble environment. If you come with your nose in the air, you will receive the treatment that was mentioned in the bad reviews.
I will definitely say if you are old, out of shape or overweight…think wisely about your stay. I had a great time, but I know that the stairs could be difficult on people with limitations. I really can’t think of anything I disliked about the stay. I do wish there was a little bit more space in the refrigerator or even microwaves in the room. It’s a bit outdated, but at the same time if you want a resort experience, go to the resort.

The views of the below bay of Charlotte Amalie are among the highlights of St. Thomas. The rooms are comfortable though there can be some improvements. It is close to many restaurants and to the ferry bay where during November to April you can get a ferry to St. John.
I do not have an issue with the stairs, but for people not inclined to climbing this may not be the property for you. Water supply was temperamental on mornings and the WiFi connection was poor.

The staff are the best. When I told them that I needed to leave the following morning earlier than 8 am (when the started to serve breakfast), they said that they would give me something later that night. Around 7:30 pm, I went to remind them and the lady did give me a big muffin, banana and energy bar 😀 The lady also told me that my plan to use the safari bus to get close to the airport and walk to the airport made sense. I decided to do so after her encouragement and the final walk took only 15 minutes. The location is very central. It's about 16 minutes' walk to the Blyden Terminal to take ferries to Tortola or St. John.
There are mosquitoes and ants .. and I saw cockcroach on the last day. But it's OK as I felt a little like living in a rural village in a sub-tropical region. The staircases did take some energy but it's good exercise 😀 ( I have always got hot water though maybe one needs to wait for 1 minute and turn to the right direction. )

Beautiful view, nice pool, breakfast was pretty solid compared to what others had said. There was an assortment of granola bars, pop tarts, packaged muffins, bananas and oranges, everything bagels (that were actually good) with cream cheese and butter. Hot coffee, hot water, cocoa powder, cherry juice - served from 8-9:30 on the terrace with a lovely view. The AC in the room kept things cool but the fan did not work.
Tons of mosquitos in the room, only so much you can do about it/its what you would expect but still not pleasant. My room did not have a bathroom and I had to use a shared bathroom down the hall, it was clean but not super clean. Bed was comfortable enough but not super comfortable. Value was phenomenal and the location was great. I'm quite fit so the steps weren't too bad, but it is a lot of steps from the front entrance if you are older/less fit/ have a lot of bags

Lady at reception was nice, they let me use a phone charger, which was very helpful and room with balcony had a very pretty view and it felt clean, dish TV was also nice to watch a movie at night and they have a pool which unfortunately we could not use due to time constraints, also parking outside easy accessible
Breakfast could have been a bit better (was a bit hostel style I'd say) e.g. hard boiled eggs would have made me happy or fresh juice instead of bought cranberry juice, pool opening hours maybe extended to 10 pm ? (we couldn't make it to the pool as during day we are discovering St. Thomas) - lots of steps by the way, maybe not for older or injured people suitable

Very friendly staff. The rooms are dated but clean.
We are 2 couples in our 70s. One has breathing problems. We were unaware there were so many steps to the rooms. One had 84 steps, the other 97 steps. That's a long jaunt any time you leave and very difficult with luggage. We did have a nice young man help us with our luggage when we left. Just a note, the whole town is built on the side of a mountain, so steps are everywhere. I would suggest you read all the reviews before deciding where to stay in St. Thomas USVI
