There are only 18 rooms at the Sonoma Coast Villa, so it really felt like we were on a private retreat. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We brought our dog and it was nice having a pet relief area (a small patch of turf) available, as well as a large lawn in the back for him explore. There are also other amenities that we’ll explore when the weather is better, like the putting green, bocce ball court and pool. There’s also an indoor jacuzzi, so be sure to bring your bathing suit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The reception staff went into detail explaining the nearby dining options and personally showing us to our room. We had the junior king suite by the pool, room 6. It’s quite spacious and has a wood-burning fireplace. Note that each room has a mini fridge (big enough to hold wine bottles), but there are no microwaves in the room. There is a microwave you can use in the dining room whenever the front building is open. I was also very pleased with the included breakfast. They offered eggs, bacon and sausage, in addition to pastries, oatmeal and cold cereal. There is also coffee and cookies available throughout the day. We’d definitely recommend this place.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Staff are super friendly. Grounds are spacious, pickleball court, fire pit area with s'mores and a movie. Nice, extensive area to walk our dog. Room was also very spacious with a fireplace. Shower was fantastic!! Room had a separate tub area which was helpful to rinse out our dog after a day at the beach. Location was close to some amazing pet friendly beaches, Doran, Dillan, and beach at the end of Pinnacle Gulch coastal access trail (this one was the best! cleanest and least populated)

Limited variety, but even breakfast was good here. Bagels, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, and cereal. An egg and sausage selection were the hot options. Maybe a waffle station?

Even though room was between office and spa, the room was generally quiet. Staff on arrival was not overly helpful but she did warm up later. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Excellent shower. Very nice breakfast both days. The staff seems to trying very hard to make your stay a pleasant one.

Upon awakening the first morning, power and water were out. Understandably, this happens on the coast periodically, but a backup generator for the well pump would have been an appreciated benefit. If the power outage had continued, we would have been forced to leave as the bathrooms were not functioning.

I can't say enough good things about this property! The staff is AMAZING, incredibly helpful, and approachable. Glass of wine and snacks were available upon check-in and the front desk associate helped guide me to my room at the back of the property; he even helped me with the bags since I was holding wine! My room was huge, very comfy, clean, and the floors were heated! At night, there were smore kits and movies by the fire. I also was able to check out the hot-tub, and it was nice and toasty. Breakfast was very, very good and helped sustain me while at work. I will 100% stay here again.

Cell reception is terrible (but I believe this is noted in the listing. This was totally fine by me as I did not want to be bothered or tempted to work. I ordered a Pizza and the driver got very lost. Thankfully the front desk associate was able to find her and even brought my pizza to the room! This is not the fault of the property; the location+bad cell service would make it difficult for any driver. I just recommend bringing food or going out because the pizza was cold and soggy when it arrived about 1.5 hour later.

This is the second time we come to Sonoma Coast Villa. It is rare for us to stay at the same place multiple times but our experience was so good the first time that we decided to come back. The environment is gorgeous and peaceful. The rooms are cozy and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious. The available games were fun. We loved the s'mores and movies in the evening.

Nothing to complain about. This place is really amazing, and we'd probably come back if we want to stay by Bodega Bay again.

Loved the grounds, it was beautiful. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the villa was spacious. I also loved the wood burning fire place and the welcome cookies, water, and wine!

I would have loved a ceiling or floor fan in the room. There was a swamp cooler connected to the window, but a fan would have been great to have on while sleeping.

The staff was friendly and accommodating literally every time we addressed them over our week stay. The breakfast was friendly to our dietary restrictions (albeit basic) and the beds and linen were kempt. For a quiet getaway, you cannot go wrong here. The value for what you pay is immense. I would have paid 40-50% more and felt it was fair.

The employee who showed us our villa was operating off a script in their head. It would go further to emphasize an interactive engagement between guest and host. If, perhaps, each villa had a rundown of the amenities that the host could direct the guest to, the interactive first encounter would feel less rushed and able to cover permanent information in the hand out; providing an engagement vice informative brief (that can be provided later via hard copy) for new arrivals might be more appreciative.

I was blown away by the size of our room! It was so spacious and I loved having our own private courtyard entrance. The variety of snacks and breakfast items available was also really wonderful. They had everything you could think of - fruit, granola bars, yogurts, cereal, pastries, hot food, drinks, and more. We felt generously loved on by all the complimentary items/activities.

Although our room was obviously cleaned, there could have been more attention to detail. I found a couple black hairs on the clean towels. The property could use some updating since most things look kind of dated. Also, although the staff was pleasant and helpful, their daily uniforms were so casual they looked out of place for a Villa. Replace the plaid red shirts for crisp white or black polos and it’ll take things up a notch.

The facility is pleasant but isolated and a short drive from the bay and the modest touristy center. The facility boasts a pool (non heated and unused), and indoor spa (with a startling warning sign), and an outdoor area devoted to light sports activities, like a putting green, corn hole boards. At night, the fire pit is lighted with fixings for s'mores while you watch a movie on the outdoor screen. Fog is very common this time of year, so did not see too many takers. The staff is very pleasant and greet you with a glass of local wine. The room was large with a wood burning fireplace, in our case, necessary since the room did get cool at night. The bathroom boasts a nice shower as well as a jacuzzi bath tub asking to conserve water. The breakfast was not varied but adequate for most every need, and included eggs, bacon/sausages, and potatoes, as well as a host of other breakfast items including a fruit cup. yogurt, bagels, sweet rolls. The coffee was outstanding. Always ate dinner out, including the The Tides and The Casino. The first is iconic with great views of the bay, the latter is good but only accepts cash. Sonoma and Healsburg are not far away and it was easier to have a big lunch in these towns and resort to crackers and cheese and a glass of wine in the evening. Better value and better choices in the two towns mentioned.

The location is close to Bodega Bay, Sonoma wineries and cute little towns. The rooms are well furnished, and the grounds have plenty of places to sit with friends and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee. The breakfast was good with homemade quiche and a selection of breads, muffins, Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. We didn’t use the small pool area but it looked welcoming. There is also an indoor hot tub.
