The Carriage house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served in your room every morning which was delightful. Snacks and water are replenished every day and are included in the price. There is a complimentary wine tasting every evening 5-6pm served alongside some snacks. Ample secure parking is included in the cost. All the staff we encountered on our 5 night stay were lovely and very helpful. The location is perfect just a stones throw away from the restaurants and shops. We ate at the mission ranch and the mission bistro both nice places our favourite was the pacific edge restaurant fab food and service with a sunset view to die for. We also ate at the Greek place Dametra, the food resembled that of a Saturday night kebab in the UK if that is your thing then expect to pay $100 for two chicken kebabs!!! Disappointing from our perspective. We enjoyed the 17 mile drive, whale watching in Monterey, 6 mile hike around lobos point and a little retail therapy and fairytale cottage spotting in Carmel by the Sea.

Staff is absolutely wonderful!!! Room feels more like your own bedroom than a hotel. Jim, Michelle and Victor are awesome; they made a point to make sure all our needs were met and that we were happy with everything. Victor went above and beyond when I called about a microwave to reheat a coffee I had picked up in town. Victor actually came to our room, ran my coffee to their sister hotel next door, heated up my coffee and ran it back to me. This was not necessary but Victor insisted he wanted me happy and to enjoy my coffee. Breakfast in the morning was delivered to our room, it was wonderful and beautifully presented - such a treat. Location was great. Close enough for any easy walk, but not in the midst of tourist traffic We will be back!

A softer bed since I am a side sleeper. The foam topper did not do much for the pressure point on my hip.

The hotel is tucked away in a quiet part of the village, yet close to everything. The room was very quiet, clean, comfortable, spacious, attractive and even though it was on the first floor, we had a nice view to the west. The breakfast was delicious and served with care right to our room and always on time. Perhaps most of all, the staff went out of their way to make us feel most welcome. We would definitely recommend this beautiful little hotel.

Breakfast was great, very good quiche. Everything was good. The drinks and snacks came with the room and I appreciated the bubbly water. Would like to have seen different menu for breakfast on the second day, but, all-in-all, the food was delicious. The Inn is also very close to the Sunset Cultural Center where we could walk to our concert and just a block away from all the shops.

The access to the shower is a hop over as the tub is tall. There was a hand rail to hold on to, but I didn't think the access was senior friendly or for anyone that might have a difficult time stepping over. Plus when you opened the door to get out, the hand rail was on the inside and the door covered, so a hand rail on the outside would have created more safety.

The breakfast was a nice surprise. Enjoyed the brewed coffee with real cream and the quiche. So lovely to have it brought to your room on a well-appointed tray to enjoy in a leisurely fashion. The room was cozy, spotless and had so many thoughtful amenities. It was within walking distance of all of our town center venues for a family and friends weekend.

We did not find the overstuffed mattress topper comfortable. Next time we will know to have it removed. Also, not fond of the overhead shower nozzle.

Our room was gorgeous, the staff couldn’t do enough to please, the breakfast brought to the room scrumptious, and the location perfect.

Toiletries below standards for the rest of the hotel. Parking spaces were very difficult to get into and out of but were just quibbling. We can’t wait to return.

Beautiful inn, great location, charming area. Excellent wine and ordovers at evening social with breakfast brought to your room each morning. Service with wonderful conversation and info about the area.

Bed, for me I need a much harder mattress. But that's a personal preference.

Breakfast was delicious. Location is fantastic.

We were locked out of our room 15 min before check out time while we were still loading our car. It took quite some time to find an employee to let us in to our room so we could collect our luggage. A few hours after checkout we were notified that we left some clothing items behind. We asked for a description of the items (and for the number of items left behind), which the staff was unable to provide. We were on our way to the airport so we could not search our luggage until the next day to determine what was missing and whether it was important. We were disappointed that the staff was not more accommodating and did not provide us a photo or even a description of the items.

The room was so comfortable and well though out. We loved the breakfast delivery to our room each morning. The quiche was fantastic. The fireplace added a lovely relaxing ambiance. We loved it so much, we are already looking for a time to come back.

Nothing. Honestly. Everything was so comfortable and well taken care of and it allowed us to just relax and enjoy! If I have to pick one thing for improvement, it might be having designated parking by room, but again, such a minor inconvenience, that it is hardly worth mentioning.

As other reviewers have said, the location is exceptional, if a bit difficult to find on its street because other similar buildings are all squeezed together. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. There is no valet, luggage carts, or elevator in this 2-story property, but staff can provide some help with luggage if needed. The office is staffed 8am-10pm, but emergency staff contact numbers are provided. The included breakfast is EXCEPTIONAL! And DELIVERED TO YOUR ROOM! The choice of 2 hot quiches are from an notable bakery, as are the croissants and, bagels, and muffins. There is cold cereal, and choice of beverages. You are presented with a menu each day and you select the items you want and the quantity (within reason) of each that you desire. I guess that you could order every item on the menu, but you may get a dirty look from staff. The beds are extremely comfortable and include a thick feather topper. Staff will remove the topper upon request. We can't recommend this place more highly. What a wonderful surprise!

Limited, free on-site parking is available, but all but a few spaces are underneath the 2nd floor rooms and they are very small. A few outdoor spaces are available, but tight. Getting out of the spaces requires several forward-and-back moves, and navigating a unbelievably narrow and tight bend by the office. There is limited on-street parking in front of the inn.
