Beautiful, spacious & clean room. Good location for those who travel by car or rent one, especially for Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu. Affordable parking fee.
No breakfast option, bit outdated at the pool area

I travelled with my husband and 2 kids aged 11 and 16 years and we stayed in a family room at this hotel for 4 nights. Overall it was a great stay and good value for money. You have to bear in mind the 3 stars so it is a bit like a standard US motel but with some great touches such as neon signs, wall murals, ping pong tables, colourful and quirky decor in the rooms and also within the grounds of the hotel which make it more fitting for the trendy Abbott Kinney area! We found the room and the pool a little on the small side, but again L.A. is not cheap so this was acceptable for what we paid compared with nearby hotels. We saw lots of other families staying here so I would say it's a great family-friendly budget option with some cool touches to make it feel more contemporary and design-centric. The main drag of restaurants, boutiques and cafes of Abbott Kinney Boulevard is around a 10 minute walk with a further 15 minute walk to Venice Beach itself. Parking is on site which was convenient but it's chargeable at $22 per night. An excellent option for families who like stylish hotels but are on a budget!
We thought we'd be getting 2 standard beds but unfortunately one of the double beds was a sofa bed which was not the most comfortable! As the room was on the smaller side, it made sense to have a sofa bed but perhaps a more comfortable one would have been better!

Decor, spa pool, table tennis and the location.
Rooms were a little bit noisy but not a deal breaker. The other guests weren’t loud

The location of this property was great. So close to Abbott Kinney and its stores and restaurants. During the day I could walk there and a night was a quick and easy Uber ride if I wanted to go out to dinner. The neighbourhood was also really nice by the water (beach and canals). As usual for LA, lots of random type characters lingering about in Venice beach, but overall a good area to stay. This room was huge! Basically the size of a one-bedroom apartment. It was pretty much a suite and I really liked that there was a separate living room & bedroom area. I travelled solo, but so much space for a family or couple. I also liked the mid-century modern design of the room. It was a nice touch and really fit in well with the vibe of the area. Made it feel kind of boho-chic.
Security. I really didn’t like that it wasn’t possible to deadbolt the door. There was actually a deadbolt, but the mechanism to “lock” it in place wasn’t lined up properly, which made it impossible to lock. For that reason, I didn’t feel comfortable because it seemed so flimsy. Especially since there was a second entrance that wasn’t monitored most of the time.

The hotel is very nice inside and outside, the rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is helpful and friendly, the hotel parking is very convenient (indoors so your car doesn’t heat up during summer).
If you are a family of 3 or 4 with children, do not book the King room with pull out sofa. It is better to book the room with 2 Queen beds. The pull out sofa is very uncomfortable. While the room itself was really spacious, this really made our stay less desirable because my 11 year old son couldn’t sleep well. The location is 1.1 mile from Venice Beach and from the heart of Venice Beach (with the nice stores and bars), I would say even further. So not really comfortable walking distance, it is also very far from other attractions like Beverly Hills (18 km), Universal (more than 30km), Hollywood sign (also more than 30 km). So be aware that this hotel is only convenient if you are ready to go everywhere by car.

Fun little hotel that stands out from the generic chain hotels. Pretty good location if you're willing to walk a little bit (approx 15 mins to the part of Abbot Kinney with restaurants and shops, approx 20-25 mins to Venice Beach boardwalk). Beds were comfy and facilities were really clean. Close to LAX. We had an early morning flight so I appreciated the quick drive over.
The bathroom was clean but old and a bit grungy as a result. Hotel staff got the job done but they weren't all that approachable or helpful.

Good location if you want to be close to Venice beach, you can very easily park for free on the street around the hotel, so no need to pay for parking.
As of today, which is 28 days from the date I was there, there is still 550USD blocked on my credit card for this hotel! I called them 2 weeks ago and they told me they don't see that on their side so they can't do anything ... Hopefully it gets released soon. Elevator was scary because it jolt. Carpets in hotel rooms is unsanitary.

We really enjoyed the location. There is street parking on the side streets. Lots of great things nearby. We were able to get into the city and beach easily. We didn't get a chance to use the amenities, but everything was really well kept and looked fun.
There is a bit of a tobacco smell in the lobby and rooms (even non smoking). Felt like a bit of old Hollywood. If you park on the street, there are people camping in the back and there was a bit of yelling. They do have security and we felt safe despite the noise.

We came to the hotel, early in the morning, around 6 am and we knew that check in was in the afternoon but the very friendly lady in the reception found us a room and checked us in, on spot many hours before the ordinary check in time. That is good service! It takes aprox 20 minutes to walk to the Ocean, then another 20 minutes north to the actual Venice Beach and then one more hour walking to Santa Monica Pier, just so you know. A general tip (You all already know this): This is Los Angeles, you need a car. We didn't get one, we were only there for a few days and walked a lot (that's why I'm talking about walking distances ), combined with Uber rides, which is fine for a few days but if you are staying a bit longer, really consider getting a car.

The room was great, I had the king suite and I absolutely loved the decor. There was a small Tv mounted in the room and we needed that! You couldn’t see it in the pictures on the website, so that was a pleasant surprise. Also, the view was the cute little courtyard with hammocks. It was a pretty cute setup.
The pool and spa/hot tub area was too small and we were not able to use it because another group kind of monopolized it. Better accommodations for hot tub use should be utilized.
