Fantastic location, charming neighborhood. Cool artist loft style building with creative decor and art. Beautiful little main floor open-air lounge. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. A short drive from the airport. Loved the cool eco-toilet which had a mini sink built in on top - clever! Thoughtful kitchen w tea, coffee, etc. Clean, comfortable unit.

The mattress sagged in the middle, which was the only major drawback of the room. Despite that, we slept well! A few minor comments: there wasn't a single hook to hang clothing from - it'd be nice to have at least one hook near the front door, and another in the bathroom for towel, etc. Also, the elevator lobby on 2nd floor had some boxes and furniture stored in the middle, which made it feel strangely like a storage space when you stepped off the elevator; maybe this stuff could be stacked off to the side or hidden, to make the lobby feel more like a lobby. :)

The room was exactly what I needed. The location was PERFECT: super central in Hillcrest and close to coffee shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance, which is what I wanted. The bed was super comfy, and I was lucky with my neighbours as I had a very quiet and peaceful stay.

The check-in process could be better. The receptionist took my credit card, and I got a text with the room codes. That's about it. I would have appreciated more information on how to lock the door on your way out, a reminder of how to use the AC, etc. Also, the remote control has a weird design and finding the volume was challenging. For instance, these little bits of extra info in a Welcome letter in the room would be great. A more personalised check-in experience would have been appreciated. I still 100% recommend this place to any solo travellers or couples who want to be centrally located in Hillcrest.

Overall a solid option. Pretty convenient location with lots of options for food, shopping, and entertainment. Has most anything you'd need to stay for a couple days (sink, dishes, microwave, fridge, shower amenities). The AC/heater was nice, too.

Not a huge fan of the loft layout. If I come back in the future (which I very well might), I'd instead probably go for a more traditional room where I don't need to climb a ladder to get to the bed. Glad I tried it at least once to see how it was.

Check-in and check-out was easy. The location was great, with plenty of food options and close to public transportation. Parking was semi-private, but safe. Staff was friendly and reachable. The room was clean with decent amenities. The code-locked elevator was a nice security feature.

WiFi barely worked the entire time. When it wasn't too slow to watch streaming services or browse the internet, it was down.

The location was great and the views were spectacular

Theres no staff on site (its not really a hotel - hotels have staffed desks), the windows dont have curtains meaning youll be up with the sun. The bed is in a homebuilt loft up a steep ladder with no rail. There are no light switches or plugs near the bed. NOISE! You can hear everything going on in other rooms, including walking on the floor above you. The bathroom door was coming off its hinges and didnt close. No silverware was in the kitchen. I actually didnt hate my stay there, but if you have ANY mobility issues or need quiet or darkness to sleep, Id avoid this place

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the gift shop was BONUS with a couple unique itema spotted perfect for a couple friends

The bathroom with the bifold wall that dragged on the floor. The toilet/sink while ergo friendly -- Only cold water and caused a flush Sink basixally unusable for any thing. Warm water needed to wash hands/face etc. So all tasks had to be performed at the large kitchenette sink. A bit Ackward.

Very convenient location!! Everything we needed was right there within walking distance.

I would say the studio room that sleeps 4 people would be the challenge. The steps to get to the beds are creative but a little on the small size. I wanted to put my suitcase on the bed but wasn’t able to drag it up. But that’s the only thing! Everything else was AWESOME!

It was a fabulous location in the Hillcrest community. Restaurants and shops were closr by as was Balboa Park. Downtown, waterfront and airport were all less than 2 miles away. They had a delicious cafe/bakery/coffee house on the first floor. The staff were fabulous. The rooms were unique with environmentally friendly features. It is an excellent value

Everything was fine

Great location. Quirky room. Fun with teenagers. Good parking (undercover and spacious). Nice cafe/bakery incorporated (didn't take advantage of it, but nice to know it was there). Very easy location to travel to and from. Would stay again.

The maintenance in the room was a bit poor: The tap fitting was loose. The A/C unit was under the table/bench, making the floor very cold (unpleasant), but not reaching the loft box rooms, meaning they were very warm (it was August).

Great hotel with a convenient location. Lots of windows and light inside, really liked the atmosphere. Very tasty restaurant right in the courtyard of the hotel.

There is practically no noise insulation. Our neighbors were incredibly loud and it was difficult to sleep.
