Hotel Z is a true gem. From the moment we booked the place, we knew we were in good hands. We were traveling with our two dogs and had started our trip at the Margaritaville down the street, which was a disaster. We ended up cancelling our stay there because our dogs were getting noise complaints from barking and there were no solutions from staff to move us to a quieter part of the hotel or move us into a room that didn't have large gaps around the entire door so that our dogs couldn't hear every little noise. We ended up calling Hotel Z, as I had seen that they are extremely friendly, explained the situation and they provided a solution right away! They suggested, without us even asking, if we'd like to stay in a room down the hall, to avoid other guests. Let me tell ya, this worked! No more dogs barking and we could finally enjoy our vacation. Additionally, everything is spotless, the rooms are cozy and they gave us four free drink coupons for all of our hassles with the other hotel. I would highly recommend staying here (and definitely NOT the Margaritaville)!

I loved the entire stay! People say the rooms are small and yes they are, but they're clean, nice, comfortable, and so cutely equipped. I love the location as well. It's in the middle of everything. You can find food places and bars no matter which direction you walk. Overall, I loved everything they offered from the complimentary drink, to the bikes you can borrow, to the water bar, to the cute coffee area. I will definitely stay there again when I return to SD.

The only thing I would have to say is the room I stayed in had a see-through window straight to outside. I was somewhat uncomfortable that someone could see too much inside. Luckily the window faced an alley way that wasn't accessible to anyone but the employees.

Clean very friendly staff, the check in process was smooth. The room is set up very nice. They gave complimentary non alcoholic cold beverages in the lobby. The free refillable bottle that you can fill in the lobby was also pretty neat. They have the best bed linen and pillows i didnt want to get out of bed!

No parking was the only downfall

Fantastic position in the heart of Gaslamp District walking distance for Seaport area . Quirky extras a pineapple water bottle which was refilled in the lobby, unlimited tea and coffee pods for a smart machine in the room and free bike hire. We loved the two single duvets on a double bed it worked well, fridge and microwave in the room. They only service your room every 2 days but are happy to give you fresh towels everyday. The WiFi was strong and free. We didn't park but it did appear to have parking just behind the hotel. They gave us free drinks vouchers from the fridge behind reception and also printed our aircraft boarding passes willingly without charge . I would definitely book another Stay Pineapple in another location if offered. Generally most of the staff we encountered were professional and helpful.

This is a city centre location, don't expect any sort of view. The air con unit in our very pleasant and light room 318 was in a low position next to the bed which was not ideal as it was a low cold draft when on.

The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel offered some extras that really improved the stay—they offered complimentary drinks (incl alcohol), a water bottle for unlimited refilling of filtered water and free bike rentals. The location was close to the centre of action in Gaslamp but far enough to not to hear the noises.

The rooms are not very sound proof; you could hear the door slamming next door. There’s only one elevator so sometimes it’s a long wait.

The place was amazing!!:) Looks just like in the pictures.. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Cynthia and Lulu! Thank you very much!!! I extended my stay twice because of a flight cancelation, and was very happy to stay at the same place! The room was very lovely, it was equipped with everything I needed, especially the coffee machine ;-) The bed was so comfortable, and everything was just wonderful! The location was perfect for me, right in downtown, close to public transportation, restaurants and shops.

The bed and bedding was great. The location was central to Gaslamp area and easy to walk to attractions and restaurants We loved the little touches like reusable water bottles and a bottle filler in the lobby. The cookies in the lobby were a nice treat

The rooms are a bit small for a family to share unless you have small children. No on site parking. If you are going to visit during a ball game or concert pre book your parking at a near by garage

I wanted to have a little getaway trip to San Diego, and this hotel has really made my trip so much better. It's a bit of a walk from the Amtrak stop at Santa Fe Depot station, but it was very scenic. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile, a complimentary drink voucher, and some tasty pineapple-shaped sugar cookies. The bed was very comfortable. I was alone, so I only needed one duvet cover, but it's great for couples who don't like to share blankets evenly 😂 There was a great selection of channels available on TV if you decide to stay in for awhile. There was complimentary coffee and tea in the room, along with a reusable water bottle that you can refill in the lobby. There is a microwave in the lobby. The desk and work chair was very comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. There are an ample amount of outlets and usb ports in the room. Although I didn't have a city-facing room, there was still an ample amount of natural lighting, so I didn't worry too much about the view. I always appreciate hotels having hand soap. There was hand soap and and hand body lotion next to the sink, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. The water pressure in the shower was great, and the towels were comfortable. There was an AC-Heater in the room, so you don't have to worry about the summer heat or the winter breeze. For any dog-owners, they have dog treats in the lobby, and can make a pup-cup for your dog. There's an elevator, and a ice machine on the third floor. If you are able to, I highly recommend using the available bikes to explore the city. The bikes alone are worth the resort fee. The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of the Gaslamp quarter. It's a mere half-block away from the main street, so it's close enough to join the action, but far enough where you don't have to be woken up late at night.

If you plan to bring or store perishable food, I recommend bringing a small cooler or insulated bag to keep your food fresh, as there is no fridge in the room.

The location is perfect for walking around downtown at night for restaurants or bars. The room itself was incredibly comfortbale- best bed I have slept on at a hotel. Bathrobes and 2 comforters were provided which was more than appreciated. Everything was very clean. They also allow you access to bicycles, a water refill station and a complimentary drink when you arrive. Could not have asked for a better experience!

There was not parking available on site so we needed to reserve a parking spot with spot hero before arriving to the Downtown area. I would not recommend using spot hero in the future; we had to argue with a parking attendant to let us park in the garage we had pre-paid for.

The staff at reception was caring and helpful, specially Cynthia and Lulu. I enjoyed the free bikes a lot, I used them twice a day to excersise and get rid of the jetlag. Location is wonderful. Comfotable bed, good shower and outstanding towells (as they brag). Plenty of USB sockets around the room.

The shower faucet was too complicated, flow and tempretarure could be controled independetly, but not really and I almost scolded myslef a couple times. The "pine USB station" in my room was not working too well.
