room i stayed in was extremely clean and comfortable, the room service attendant was very polite and gave me extra towels and she was very polite and respectful. also the dinner was very good in the dining area. The Heartland is an amazing place to stay if you are there for the U of I hospitals and clinics. The staff makes it easy for anybody who has to be at the hospital. The shuttle driver was amazing. He made sure that I made it to River Landing and came back to pick me up I could make my appointment at the U. I don't think that is a typical drop-off. My car did not start and after a series of issues with getting it dealt with, the hotel let me stay in the lobby til it was all taken care of. They were very generous and helpful. Oh, and Jethro's next door is a nice addition.

The hotel could use a facelift. It is starting to show its age.

Breakfast was good and space for it was ample. I expected biscuits and gravy but was satisfied with waffles and sausage and thankful for the juice and that other choices were available. The bathroom was clean and the shower is bright and spacious.

Our bathroom toilet seat was loose and I got it tightened with a coin. I'm mentioning it only to let you know. Room lighting is a little lacking. And I would like a restaurant listing and mapping and users views.

Breakfast was just okay-the usual fare of eggs and sausage heated up. Decent array of bread, bagels and English muffins.

Many restaurants nearby. Free shuttle to University Hospitals is a great service and they have a hospital rate. The bathroom looked newly renovated. There was no place to set shampoo and soap inside the shower but maybe a wall hung unit for those items is in the works. Better for the environment too.

Location is great -- near University of Iowa campus, running/cycling trails, and a short drive from downtown Iowa City. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Free parking.

The breakfast room was cramped and very backed up when it got busy in the morning. While it's nice to choose your own coffee drink, that kind of set-up is not efficient for lots of guests at breakfast. The machine makes just one cup at a time, and it takes a while. The line was very long. The poor woman attending to the breakfast area was really strapped -- she needed some help.

It’s a bit run down and need a ceiling fan in room. We DoorDash to pizza on Saturday night and I called the front desk two hours after our order should’ve come to ask if it was there, and the overnight clerk said she tried to contact me, but couldn’t find me in the system. Stephanie Cagle was on the pizza box and my reservation was under Steph Kagel. I think she could’ve gone the extra mile to find me and said I had to eat a two hour old pizza. .

For the price, it was as expected. Room was clean in the sleeping area and the bathroom was mostly clean. Breakfast was good and included with the stay.

The hotel is in need of some upgrades-no charging ports/hubs in the room, which isn’t a must, but is nice to have. Parking was difficult. Due to the location (there is a restaurant right in front), the only spot for us to park in was quite far away.

Outstanding complimentary self-serve breakfast. Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, bagels, cereal,oj, milk and coffee, all managed by staff who kept everything tidy and clean. Also, a complimentary self-serve light supper was offered Tuesday-Thursday 5-7 pm to welcome weary travelers.

The place was super clean. Staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was very good. Lots of choices eggs, sausage,cereal, bagels waffles pancakes.. All of it was very good.

Everything was good fir me and my family. Thank you all for making my stay pleasant.

Clean, welcoming and friendly staff, breakfast was very good! It was very busy the weekend we stayed but staff handled it well and continued to provide excellent service with smiles and a cheerful attitude! Maid service even made our beds between nights which we were not expecting!

Facilities were in decent condition, but could be updated .
