The breakfasts were wonderful, the location was perfect, the property was clean and tastefully decorated, and the staff were super friendly.

This is VERY minor, but the lighting in our room was a bit dim and I had trouble reading.

Very easy walk to Dock Square shopping/restaurants. Peaceful and very attractive residential location. Room very clean. Shared lounge areas very comfortable and attractive.

Rather an impersonal place. Hardly saw any staff apart from housekeeping and very briefly at breakfast. Breakfast food available seemed to run short quickly. Routine was to clear your own table after breakfast. Sadly not at all like the classic New England Inn we visited some years ago. In our view has lost much character and sense of welcome.

Breakfast provided was very nice - enjoyed everything that was offered. It was fun to go into the kitchen and get it and the breakfast staff was very friendly and accommodating. The reception staff was also quite helpful and kind. Check in/ check out were super easy. It was good to receive some text messages informing and inquiring about our stay - very convenient. Housekeeping did a nice job of tidying up each day. The seating and tables on the lawn were great - also - the corkscrew in the room came in handy!

I thought everything was great, actually. It's just my preference, but I like crisper, cooler sheets, so I guess that would've improved my stay.

My favorite part of this hotel was the incredible staff! They communicated via text frequently and promptly answered any questions we had. The room was very comfortable and we loved the fireplace. Great location - a quick walk to downtown KBPT. The room was a very comfortable size for two people. Overall we had a great stay.

One thing that was my fault but I would caution other visitors - I recommend booking your room through their website directly. Afternoon looking forward to enjoying a soaking tub for a month after making the reservation, it turned out we had a room that did not have a tub. It was a bummer, but definitely not their fault, it was just the picture that Booking had posted for the room. A few other minor things I would change - I wish the room had a mini fridge for our leftovers and wine. It also would have been nice if there was a desk in the corner instead of a chaise lounge to journal. I found the mattress to be very firm and had trouble sleeping.

Our room at Captain's Collection was lovely, immaculate and charming. Breakfast was available every morning with different offerings each day. Delicious and convenient. The setting for breakfast allowed for privacy and/or conversation with other inn guests. There were games to play in the lounge and dining area. The location was just a short walk to Kennebunkport restaurants and shops. No need to hassle with parking! It felt like a home away from home. It was just perfect.

Complimentary breakfast was great. Really nice fresh fruits, nice pastries and a daily special like quiche or egg sandwiches. Common rooms were really nice with spacious seating areas and beautiful fireplaces which were lit during our winter stay. Free parking was available on-site and was never full. Property was within walking distance to downtown Kenneybunkport shops and restaurants.

Bathroom was small and had no shelving or storage space. Bathroom was also inadequately heated.

This was our first time in Kennebunkport for Christmas Prelude. We had been guided to find accommodations close to the square for convenience. The Captains Collections location was perfect! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated. I usually don't sleep well when I'm not in my bed but I slept great this time! The bed and pillows were so comfortable.

I was a little disappointed to return one evening around 7:30 and there were no fires in either of the fireplaces. It was cold outside and I could have used the warmth. I feel like 7:30 was a little early to turn off the gas fireplace and not have a fire in the wood burning one. One evening around 7:00 we returned to find the wood burning fire almost going out. My husband retrieved some wood from the basket and got it going again. I felt like the innkeeper should have kept the fires going until later in the evening.

Lovely informal help yourself style breakfast, good coffee. Great location just a short stroll into the town. Good parking. BEAUTIFUL house, open fires, fabulously stylish decor. Lovely friendly staff and a delightful atmosphere.

Just a couple of things for us. We were in room 29 and the mattress is in need of replacing, a considerable dip in the centre led to an uncomfortable nights sleep. The air con wasn’t working well, our fault that we didn’t mention it, I’m sure they would have been resolved. Subsequently it was too hot in the room and we couldn’t open the windows as flies were finding their way in between the fly screen and window.

Beautifully decorated rooms with very comfortable bed. Delicious breakfasts; options change daily. Mid-morning and afternoon snacks, tea and coffee station- I was never hungry. Lovely common spaces with fireplace (fireplace also in room). Nice staff, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Elegant style with beautiful hotel grounds, lots of parking. I will definitely return.

Bathrooms: the bathroom was split from the toilet, which is fine. However, while the shower room was at a logical place in the room, the toilet was difficult to access at night (had to walk around the entire bed in order to open the door). Nowhere to hang hand towels in the shower bathroom (pet peeve of mine) and very cold (no way to heat that room)- this definitely needs either a space heater/heated flooring. The main door of my room didn't sit flush/was misaligned so I could hear people in the hallway quite loudly, and they could hear me speaking inside the room as well.

Breakfast fun with encouragement to go on "coffee tour" of neighboring houses. Location excellent quiet but easy walk to town and local restaurants and attractions.

Tilted floor in room understandable in old house, but bed could have been leveled. Fairfield House queen fireplace. Not a deal-breaker. Maintain tippy toilet and loose toilet paper holder. Happens. Maintenance staff working hard. Add to punch list.
