The Budget Inn in Mt. Airy is a little gem from the past. While it may be old, it has been well-kept. It is EXCEPTIONALLY clean. The manager is friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. There was an additional $5 and $3 fee at check-in, but that is expected in our post-Covid environment. I would much rather have a small additional fee, and limited housekeeping than to not be able to stay at this ideal, CLEAN, quiet inn. An ice machine, and beverage machine are located in the small lobby area. It is so nice to be able to park and walk a few steps to reach our room. My husband and I don’t care for having to take elevators and go down “rat mazes” of hallways, like newer, big chain hotels have. At the Budget Inn of Mt. Airy all rooms are on ground level, with parking in front, you can’t beat that. They do have a few designated smoking rooms, so if you are a smoker, you will be welcomed. I am not a smoker, and sensitive to cigarette smoke, but I didn’t get a whiff of any smoke either in my room, or on the premises. My husband and I loved the mattresses, they were so comfortable. I tried to see the mattress tag to find out the manufacturer, but the mattresses were “hermetically sealed” in special casings to protect them. That was one of the little touches that made me feel safe and comfortable staying here. The location is ideal. It is maybe an hour, or slightly more to Gettysburg, and about the same to Washington DC. There is a cute amusement park/arcade called Adventure Park USA close by. This boutique inn may be in a growing area, but it is actually secluded and quiet. I hesitated to right this positive review, because I hope to stay here many more times when I visit my grandchildren who live 15 minutes from the Inn; and I didn’t want to risk not being able to get a future reservation due to everyone reading my honest review and booking. But, I must be honest and say the Budget Inn of Mt. Airy is the perfect lodging and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.😉

If I had to say what I didn’t like, it would be hard to find something. Perhaps the little Mr. Coffee machine? A packet of coffee was included to make a little pot, but I am used to Keurig type coffee machines when traveling. That definitely is not a complaint, the little Mr. Coffee was fine, and my husband preferred it. The refrigerator was nice, and kept our ice packs frozen and cold items cold.

The room was neat, bathroom was clean and it was nice being able to park in the front and walk steps to the door.

Neither of the wall outlets over the night stand worked. I had to charge my phone at the desk. A minor inconvenience.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and always satisfied, I request a specific room and they honor my request, have never had an issue with this hotel
