The Best Western Socorro far exceeded our expectations. The room and bed were comfortable, the staff was gracious and so friendly, the breakfast was filling and tasty, and, importantly, the hotel was quiet. We did get to use the spa and pool and those were added bonuses to our three-night stay. This provided a central location for visiting the local wildlife refuges and for making a trip south to visit White Sands NM.

Can't think if anything that could have made our stay better.

It was a plus to have the coffee & flavored creamers available prior to 6am. My second floor request was honored & the tv and refrigerator were both working. Having a refrigerator that is working properly is important to my race trips in order to keep my fruits & coconut waters cool for race day!

The bathtub had a issue with draining. Once I removed the tub plug the water emptied correctly. There was no paper tv guide for the locals channels. I managed to lose 45-90 seconds of my TV time searching. LOL.

Breakfast was good. Room at the front of the motor inn got some road noise. A couple of minor maintenance issues...loose towel rack, bathroom door catching on tile floor. Staff courteous, including housekeeping.

Some signs on doors had not been updated and did not reflect the hotel's current COVID mask policy. Older or less fit travelers should be made aware there is no elevator for reaching the second floor. Lobby bathrooms were locked.

Checkin was easy. The staff was friendly. The grounds was clean. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. A decent variety of towels. A laundry room available for guests on the grounds(packets of washing detergents is available for sale/you can get quarters from the front desk). There is a McDonald's and Sonic in walking distance. Oh, there is a pool, hot tub and gym on the premises. Free parking. We really enjoyed our stay!

Honestly there wasn't anything that I didn't like. The only thing I would suggest is having a desktop in a more quiet/secluded place instead of in the lobby/reception area. It's to noisy and to many eyes. But I was grateful it was available and I was able to do my online college work(We were visiting from Florida and hurricane Ian had just occurred, however online classes work was still due and I didn't bring my laptop). The staff was very helpful and accommodating. There was a young man with cute colorful hair that made coffee and advised me of such. Lol! I was utilizing the computer for a while(Administrative Law Online class). He was sweet.

Staff were friendly, very good at meeting needs, and beautiful view! Able to park directly outside of your room. Pool was heated, spa was HOT. Both very well maintained.

Breakfast could be improved upon. Hash browns were kind of raw still, bacon not crisp.

An excellent price for a decent room that was clean and comfortable. A perfect gateway to the Bosque national wildlife refuge. They had 3 movie channels that provided a source of entertainment after a long day of photography.

No complaints

When I called and talked to the desk clerk about a week before arriving I told him we needed a room close to the lobby for breakfast because my wife uses a walker and that it would make it a lot easier for her. He put me on hold for a minute to make note of that. When he came back on the phone he said it was taken care of. When we checked in and went to our room , it was about as far from the lobby as you could get possibly get.

The breakfast was great! There was a lot to choose from. The location was easy to find. The staff was great! We kept having trouble with our keys and they were eager to help. That was nice.

Room very clean and comfortable.

Older accomodations, no USB charger ports. Difficult to find ice machine: 4 trips/calls to desk... wrong room # given... back key card wouldn't open door, etc.

Breakfast was excellent! There were many choices and the hot meal varied daily. 👍

The walk to and from the pool from my annex was a bit long and the towels ran out in the evening.
