I loved the age and history of the home, and its location on the square. We came to tour Gettysburg, and it was amazing to stay in a home that was present (and already fairly old!) at the time of the events here. Also loved having the kitchen, and my kids loved all the interesting cubbies/hideaway spaces and various levels of the home.

Probably just being summer and hot, there was a fly problem. We didn't request any assistance with the issue, since we got in late and left the next morning, so I'm sure they would have helped if we needed them to, but just a note for the housekeepers.

The Inn on Lincoln Square is a beautiful old red brick residence. Its location is fantastic—on the traffic circle in the heart of Gettysburg. You are close to the battlefield visitor center. The property is between Seminary Ridge and Cemetery Hill along the main Union supply route. It is about 3 1/2 miles from Little Round Top and Devil's Den and 4 miles from the area of Pickett's Charge. You will not have to look far to find historical markers and monuments. The Mary Juliet Suite on the first floor was large and had a huge four-poster bed. The sitting area and bath facilities were more than adequate. It is a quaint old home with plenty of period character. It is a family-friendly property. Initially, I wondered if traffic noise would be an issue. It was not a problem at all. It was a peaceful stay. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was pretty genteel. There is parking behind the house and spillover parking in a garage nearby. Shopping galore is just outside the front door, and many good restaurants are within a block or a short walk. Some tried: Breakfast: One Lincoln is in front of the Inn. This is an excellent restaurant for breakfast and lunch. They feature healthy and traditional fare, which is a wonderful breakfast choice. The service is polished and attentive, and the prices are quite reasonable. I had breakfast and lunch there, with breakfast being the standout. There were groups of local professors and other people from town there at lunch. That is generally a very good sign. Gettysburg Baking Company: This bakery offers Outstanding pastries and sandwiches. It also has a sitting area and, of course, takeout. The food is amazing as is the service. Lunch/Dinner: The Sign of the Buck has a nice, clean, and cozy atmosphere. The inventive menu uses many locally sourced ingredients. Small bites are a good bet in the afternoon, and the service is efficient.

I did not have any issues with the facilities, the location, or anything else of note. It was a hassle-free stay.

The Inn is well located in the center of town with convenient parking at the Inn and a parking garage nearby. We were warned that the location might be noisy but we were at the rear of the property and noise was not a problem. The owners happened to be there when we arrived and were most welcoming and helpful as we moved in. Be aware this is an 1860’s house with some things common to houses of that era – a narrow, low ceiling hallway and slightly steep, narrow, and creaky stairs. The apartment is clean and nicely furnished. The beds were comfortable though the one in the back bedroom was much too soft for me. The bathroom is small but the water is hot and towels were plentiful. The kitchen and eating area are spacious with a large table and plenty of chairs. Several pubs and restaurants are within walking distance. (Highly recommend the Lincoln Diner for quality, quantity, and price!)

You must go through the bedroom at the top of the stairs to get to the other two bedrooms and bath (Don’t put a light sleeper at the top of the stairs!). Lighting was dim all over the apartment - no good place to put on makeup. The kitchen wasn’t as well stocked as some places we have stayed – no cookie sheet, no griddle, no large skillet, only one medium mixing bowl. Fortunately I had tucked in some of my own cookware just in case. We love to prepare some of our own meals but maybe most visitors aren’t into cooking?

Super clean facility. Big rooms. The kitchenette was a big plus for us as we do not like to eat in restaurants for every meal. It is conveniently located on the square in Gettysburg and very close to shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Mind you, we are a younger couple so WE didn’t care, but be prepared, from the room we stayed in (first floor, windows right out to the square) you will be able to hear tours, music, and general hustle and bustle. This might not be for everyone, but we enjoyed it. Did not affect you once you went back to the bedroom.

It was 😍 ng to stay in such and a historical building, especially reading the history about the house and how it went through the generations of sisters and the positive impact on the community. Incredible location in the middle of historic Gettysburg square, next to the place where Abraham Lincoln slept. The only issue was we didn't know that. Sarah house was actually outside and not in the main building, it would have been a little helpful to note that you have to go through the side gate to get the door on the side of the building.

Annie Danner Suite was perfect!!!!! It had every modern amenity needed while still looking and feeling like a 1800's building. Suite was comfortable, well lit, clean and cozy. Location is in the center of town and within walking distance to everything. Communication with owner was seamless and all done via text and responses back were immediate.

The house in itself is quiet, we heard no one else - but simply due to its central location, you can definitely hear a lot of traffic and people. That would be the only somewhat negative thing I can even think of.

A perfect location in the center of historic Gettysburg. Taverns, a diner, Starbucks, and unique shopping were all minutes away by foot. We had rented all three rooms at the Inn, and an adjoining townhouse, for a family occasion and were delighted by the well-decorated and comfortable lodging. Parking was either onsite (3 vehicles) or at a close-by garage. We made some of our own history by gathering three brothers, their families and their nieces and nephews from up and down the Eastern seacoast. We will be back.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

The suite was very roomy. Lots of space to spread out which was nice. The bathroom was a great size. The hide-away kitchen was unique. The suite had a lot of historic charm to it. The location was great. It was an easy walk to shops and restaurants as well as the historic David Wills House.

It was great to have on site parking for free but the ally way was difficult to find at first and definitely a tight squeeze if you're not accustomed to driving down such narrow passageways. Overall though it was still a positive to have the parking. The only other thing is that the front of the suite looks over the square and the noise from people/traffic can be heard pretty clearly even with the windows closed. From the back of the suite however the noise isn't a problem.

We rented all three rooms at the Inn on Lincoln Square and an adjoining townhouse to accomodate an extended family celebration by 12 adults. The rooms in the Inn were spacious, beautifully decorated for the season and very comfortable. The townhouse rooms were comfortable and the kitchen and living spaces on the first floor were welcoming and more than met our requirements. Interesting shopping, lively taverns and food choices from diner plates to pub grub were all within easy walking from our lodging.

We wish we could have stayed more than 2 days!

Location was perfect! Everything you need right outside the door! Right in the center of Lincoln Square. Parking was in alleyway steps from room. In addition there is parking in a garage, 3 min walk! Outside townhouse is a beautiful small courtyard. Eva Townhouse was 3 full bedrooms, full kitchen/with sitting table, plus a great size living room. Nice size bathroom with shower tub combo plus washer/dryer! Owner was very nice and prompt with communications to our questions. If your lucky, and The Inn at Lincoln Square is available, Book it! Shops, local historic history & Lively restaurants are steps away! We highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back!

No TV's in the bedrooms, this is a minor thing because most of your time is spend steps outside enjoying Lincoln Square!
