The room was small but very comfortable and decorated tastefully. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious! The shower was on the small size--square but new and clean. Automatic nightlights enabled us to find our way to the bathroom in the night. This is an old house but it has been refreshed and given new life. The floorboards in the hallway squeaked a little but there's nothing wrong with that. Mark, the host, was friendly and knowledgeable about the town of Gettysburg. We were there for the Remembrance Day Parade so the roads were crowded but the noise level in our second story room was not bad. Breakfast was fresh but a regular coffee maker would be an improvement over the Keurig. China from the china cabinet along with cups, saucers and flat wear added atmosphere. Large cookies and muffins are kept in the dining room should you need a snack. The Tillie House has 2 sitting rooms, a dining room and 1 ground floor suite. On the second floor is another small sitting room and 5 ensuite bedrooms. The interior front staircase is easy to navigate and the front door opens to a small porch leading to the sidewalk.

Parking is provided behind the house but the lighting was minimal. The patio pavers need sand or pea gravel filled in around them to help prevent tripping in the dark. For us at 75 and 76 the back stairs up to the second story entry were a little challenging tho well lighted. Our room would benefit from a small luggage rack of some kind.

The inn is very close to many shops and restaurants, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go! It was a nice sized room and we felt comfortable there. The person that checked us in (I believe her name was Kara) was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to! There is allegedly a ghost cat on the property which I love the idea of!! They have a basket of cat toys out that you can take from to hopefully get the cat to play with!

It is an older property, so the floors were loud to walk on, but overall we loved it. We heard noises overnight while trying to sleep, so we didn’t sleep as well (footsteps in the attic!! 👻). But we were prepared that could happen! I was also very hot overnight so if you need a cold room to sleep in I would bring a fan just in case!

Historic house located within walking distance of all major attractions, restaurants, shops, etc. Breakfasts were exceptionally good, and (Kara) one of our hosts (decked out in her period garb) was entertaining, informative, interesting, and passionate about her job - with an insatiable thirst for knowledge of the Civil War - and, in particular, all things Ulysses S Grant.

The only knock would be that the place was a bit on the chilly side (September). However, once we started using the portable heaters located in the rooms, the bedrooms and bathrooms were quite comfortable.

Christine was very welcoming and we truly appreciated the early checkin as we were headed to a wedding and needed to get ready to be at the venue by 3:30. The room was comfortable, clean and what we expected. We also were greatly appreciative of the reserved off street parking.

We wish we could’ve taken part in the breakfast, but because of the 9a breakfast time, we couldn’t. I totally understand that staffing limitations is what caused the later time, hopefully that can be moved up a bit. However, there were bagels, coffee and homemade cookies available to go and all were delicious.

We loved the whole house!!! Our room was the Elizabeth Thorn. Breakfast was delicious. There were available snacks for later in the day/ evening. The Inn keepers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Tillie. And the location was perfect!! In the middle of everything and within walking distance of a lot of the battlefields.

our bed was a little hard for our liking, but was able to get a decent night's sleep.

The location was excellent to visit the Gettysburg battlefield and museum. The locals were friendly and accommodating Weather was perfect. All in all had a pretty good three days.

The only problem I had was getting to Gettysburg. No public transport from Baltimore Airport other than a taxi which cost US172.00. Finding transport out of Gettysburg was no easy matter. By chance a couple of strangers put me on to a local taxi driver (not advertised locally) who ended up driving me to Harrisburg to catch the Amtrak to New York. No public transport out of Gettysburg on a weekend. (bus leaves at 6 a.m. Monday to Friday to Harrisburg)

This is a beautiful B&B in the heart of Gettysburg. Everything is in walkable distance. We stayed in the Elizabeth Thorn room, which is just absolutely gorgeous, and faces Baltimore street. Our host was wonderful. We enjoyed conversing with him. He's a wealth of knowledge, and he made sure that we were very comfortable during our stay. We have visited Gettysburg for the past 4 years in a row, and our stay at the Tille Pierce has been our best one yet. We can't wait to come back!

Not a complaint, I didn't have an issue. This is just a heads up if you're a light sleeper, you may want to pack ear plugs. It's a pre civil war home, so the floors creak, and the walls are a little thin.

Good location, close to everything..even walked to/from the National Park several times..quiet, mature guests, delicious breakfasts, wifi worked, sold a few souvenirs, antiques everywhere..coffee sweets anytime..learned how to use that KEurig machine, rooms are inpeccably beautiful and a joy to look at, bus stops right outside

didn't know check in window was a few hours, stairs to take my large luggage, but that is to be expected, the trip to the laundromat is kind of long well with clothes anyway, no tv only in parlor & I would NOT turn it on,cuz might disturb the guests..entertained myself with my laptop.

What’s not to LOVE about the Tilley Pierce House Inn? It’s a beautiful historic civil war home that is now an amazing hospitality inn. It’s actually designated an official Civil War House - complete with its own cornerstone plaque. Our 2nd floor room was beautifully decorated and our bed, really comfortable! All of the Inn’s accommodations and amenities are well thought out and very homey - up to and including the cat toys left out on the 2nd floor for Binx - the ghost cat who is rumored to roam the halls of the Tilley Pierce. Finally, location - location - location! The inn sits directly on Baltimore Ave., minutes from everything you want to see when visiting Gettysburg. It’s a comfortable inn that is now our go to whenever we visit Gettysburg! Excellent value. Wonderful staff!

Actually, we enjoyed every part of our stay there.

The breakfasts were great and there was always some snacks and drinks available. The location was perfect. Everything in town was in walking distance.

The only things that I didn't like was that you could here everything from your room because the house is old and the rooms small. There also could have had an ice bucket and ice available. Also there was no TV in the room. No big deal for us but would've been nice.
