I loved the location and the facilities in general. I stayed in a 4-bed female-only room, and it was quite good. The bathroom was clean and pretty.
I didn't like that the hotel/hostel doesn't have a kitchen, so in that sense, it works more like a hotel but with a hostel-style bedroom sharing. Being able to cook or have somewhere to leave your room (e.g., a fridge) would be helpful.

This was great. Room clean, bed and bedding very comfortable, temperature good, and the people nice. I also enjoyed the fitness centre, which helped a lot!
The cleaners tend to just come in without knocking. One lady came in and ranted at me for accidentally placing an item of clothing on an unused bed whilst I was packing my belongings for the following day's flight. This was unnecessary and made me worry a great deal that she may report me or something. Therefore, I went down to reception to clarify that it was an honest mistake. They were very cool about it and assured me not to be concerned.

I stayed in a 4-bed female room, which was quite spacious and super clean. Each bed had a curtain, so it felt very private, and bedside USB ports and wall plug to charge all devices. No issues with the ensuite either; you had some shelves to put your stuff away while using the space and the shower pressure was divine. Very big lockable drawers under the beds, just bring your own lock. There's a well equipped little gym, and an outside pool (though I did not use tgus). There's also a laundry room and the reception lady was quite helpful in explaining how to use it. Also great to be able to leave our luggage after checkout free of charge.
Not central, which is something I overlooked when booking. I used mostly the metro to go around and it was a bit of an uphill walk to get to the hostel! However, there's a bus stop 2min away. The air-con in the room (or whatever that machine was) was quite loud and set a bit too cold for my liking, but once hiding behind the bed curtain and under the duvet, it was okay.

The lobby and rooms were clean. The staff was efficient and friendly. It is in a safe area, near the DuPont Circle metro with many restaurants nearby, as well as the coffee bar and Mexican restaurant on site. There were private areas in the lobby where you could work. The front desk was always manned. Guests were an interesting mixture of old and young from all over the world.
It's an uphill slog from the metro. At times the music from the restaurant was too loud.In a 4 bed woman's dorm I shared the space with quiet, considerate travelers until the last 2 nights when a woman coughed and hacked and kept her light on all night, washed her panties in the shower and unplugged the room's heater( turning the room frigid) because "the noise hurt her face". Not the hotel's fault, but 4 days of a 6 night stay were fab, while 2 nights were more than a tad uncomfortable.

I liked the location, its 1.9 miles to the White House and 1 mile to the zoo in the opposite direction on Connecticut road, We walked everywhere and sometimes used the scooter and it was lovely. The local restaurants close to the hotel were great, and even delivery was good. The neighborhood was clean and safe, if you enjoy walks this location is for you. The cafe and bar in the hotel were also pretty convenient. Housekeeping came in daily to freshen up our room, there was laundry on site which was also convenient.
My bed was uncomfortable, might be my luck maybe a different room had better beds, and the morning shift receptionists were not friendly and welcoming, probably they are overworked and exhausted.

All stuff was positive in general. I just observed one stuff member on the cafe side who seemed not to pay attention or clarify what the customers orders are really are. She's a good worker, but she seemed to want to multitask, which didn't seem to work. She's also need to be retrained about customers service language. She seemed to "swipe her tongue" at customers when a customer raised an issue about their order. For example, 3 ladies wanted 2 orders to share (affordability), but she served them 3 . She assumed that bcz the ladies were 3, they wanted 3 plates. The lady who was buying protested. Then the lady said it was ok even though she had ordered 2, she could pay for the 3 as well. However, a few minutes later when one would think the issue had been settled, I heard her shout over the counter, "I can refund it!" The ladies left most of the food on the table. I was with a friend and ordered 2 smoothies. We sat at a table. But when she served the smoothie, it was 1. So I mentioned that I needed 2 smoothies. She took her time to make it. When I asked where it is, she seemed to be impatient with me & said something like " I'll spare you today." I think the cafe's plan is to serve as many orders as possible, but there's a disorganization there. When one pays, they don't say where the ready orders are placed. I saw people pay & stand aside, then try to interrupt to ask "where is my order". I think the lady needs to be given a refresher on how to approach customers whether or not she thinks their concern is stupid or not. Customers always seek a good experience for their money.
Clean rooms and linen was great to have.

We needed to stay near the Hilton without having to pay Hilton prices & fees. This was the best alternative. The 9th floor view was excellent. The heater and electric thermostat worked well. The room was clean. King bed was two beds placed together, but it was comfortable. Walls and door could be better sound proofed, but it's still worth it at this price point for a hotel in D.C. The television had a variety of channels, a lot of them played sports and movies. The lobby has an excellent cafe with dining area, private study nooks, and lounge area. There is also a restaurant at the hotel, but we didn't eat there. The walk to the nearest Metro station was about 15 minutes so it's not the most convenient, but the street that leads you there are lined with a big sidewalk with trees, restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops on both sides. So, it's a safe, comfortable, and fun walk. There are also a few groceries nearby and there's also a Safeway about 15 minutes away.

Staff were great, I asked a lot of them and they never failed to help with a smile. The cafe downstairs was great for a quick bite in the morning, loved the breakfast sandwich! Location was great for either heading into DC or to get to Silverlands or Maryland. Transport also very good being so close to DuPont Circle. I stayed in a shared dorm and a private room and both were nice, clean, spacious and comfy.
There isn’t really anything that comes to mind when I think of things I didn’t like. If anything I didn’t like leaving by the end of it! The smallest gripe I may have is that in the shared dorms the lights weren’t very bright but I can only assume this is so people are being woken up at all hours. Other than that I have no complaints!

Really cute room, extremely comfy bed, dog-friendly. Beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows in our room. Lovely outdoor space and good cocktails and food at the hotel restaurant. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure in shower. Friendly staff who were really accommodating and helped merge two back-to-back reservations that we had made. Plus, beautiful common areas on the first floor if you need to escape your room for a bit!
No coffee maker in the room - and the drip coffee from the cafe ranged from mediocre to undrinkable. Cafe also didn't open until 7am and there was usually only one [very kind] barista working. (Alternatively, check out Bon Beke's a few minute's walk away... their coffee, pastries, and service are fantastic!) We were also woken up repeatedly late at night and early in the morning by guests staying in dorm-style rooms right next to our hotel room. These guests also tended to be extremely loud in the hallways at all hours (possibly unaware how easily the sound carried or that the whole hotel was not formatted as a hostel).

Great location in a safe area. Close to Downtown Washington and all the important attractions. If you are okay with a bit of a walk you can reach a lot of places by foot but there is also a bus stop next to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing. Comfortable beds with curtains for privacy, even in a shared room. Every bed had their own USB ports and a small light. The room and the bathroom are clean and in good condition. There is a lot of space in the room, too. Every bed has its own locker. The common area was beautiful and a great way to either just sit around, work or relax , or meet people and chat. There is a cafe and a restaurant in the hotel. There is no option to cook.
The cleaning staff would try to come in around 8 a.m., which is a bit early. But they respected when we would tell them to come back a bit later. There was only one light in the room, which made the room a bit dark, especially at night. The cafe and the restaurant are a bit more expensive than other locations in the area. So I didn't eat there.
