The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very centrally located close to restaurants and shopping with easy access to the interstate. Despite being close to the highway, we heard no traffic noise and also felt very safe. Other reviewers commented on the rooms being small, but we thought ours was of adequate size with good storage. Other comments mentioned the small bathroom vanity, but the vanity has a drawer and shelf below the drawer for storage and personal items, so we thought it was very adequate for our toiletries and personal items.

The only thing was the fact that you can hear other doors shutting and noise in the hallway once morning came, but it wasn't enough to disrupt our sleep.

Easy check in, rooms clean, beds comfortable, staff was nice, good breakfast. Location very convenient and safe. The room was somewhat quiet-I could not hear the outdoor traffic or the people in the rooms next to me. But, when they left the next morning I could hear them talking in the hallway near our door and when they closed their door. We could also hear a child running and jumping in the room above us around 10:30 pm.(this type of noise shouldn't reflect on the hotel they can't help that there are rude and inconsiderate people)

The breakfast area was a little small for all the people wanting to eat at the same time but, it was adequate just choose your time when its less crowded. What I didn't like were the rude inconsiderate guest. I even had a woman to reach over my breakfast plate in my hand as I was attempting to walk away. No- excuse me, no- can I get something, or just wait until I'm out of the way.

The front desk staff was very welcoming, polite, and provided everything we needed for our stay! She greeted us and made me feel welcome even though I was scatter brained after driving for 8 hours that day! Also the room was sooo so clean! The breakfast attendant was very nice as well! The breakfast was delicious! Tons of options

You could hear outside noises such as interstate and doors slamming but a light sleeper and I forgot my sound machine.

Over the years, our family has stayed at different local hotels for our trips to Winterplace. We finally found a GREAT one!! This place had: one of the cleanest rooms we've ever stayed in, the MOST comfortable mattress and linens, VERY clean room and bathroom, and a great breakfast!! This place blew Tru by Hilton out of the park!! If you're looking for a great place for a quick trip to Winterplace, look no further!!

We we’re heading home from a ten hour total trip and did not want to drive the entire trip in one day when we knew we would not get an early start. Seven hours was a doable cut off, putting us in Beckley. Wanting to revisit the Tamarack, the hotel was in the perfect location, not requiring us to get back on and off the interstate. Also, there were a multitude of nearby restaurants, two of which did not require leaving the side road. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, the decor was very on trend, and, except for a small stain on the comforter, everything was spotless. All of the staff was wonderful. The front desk person found my husband’s cell phone and room key that slipped out of his pocket into the chair at breakfast and held it till he realized what happened after we had returned to our room.

The most disconcerting thing was a small quarter size blood stain on the underside edge of the comforter that I quietly told the housekeeping attendant about in the morning and showed her. She apologized and said she would get a new comforter for the next guest and thanked me. Although the breakfast bar had eggs, sausage, and waffles, along with cold selections, and a friendly attendant, it didn’t have any bananas, or other options for waffle toppings besides syrup, nor did it have bacon, or peanut butter. It somehow seemed bland and the coffee wasn’t very good. I hesitantly ate the sausage and ended up with a bellyache, as sausage doesn’t sit well when traveling!

We were in town for my husband's class reunion and stayed 2 nights. The staff was friendly, the lobby and rooms were very clean and fresh. The room could have used more lighting, especially over in the corner by the bed. The large TV was perfect for watching the Olympics. All in all, we were very pleased and would stay there again.

Needed more lights.. a lamp over in the corned by the bed would have been nice.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and quiet. Right off the freeway. We ran into a bad storm on the way and arrived at 1am and there were no issues with check in. Breakfast selections were good.

The pool is located on the outside, just to note because it's not shown on the website nor booking.com, we wanted an inside pool in case of rain. Also, breakfast is only from 6-9am, which is hard if arriving late like we did.

The room is very clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly, location is super convenient, plenty of food places around.

Don't expect too much about the breakfast. Sound insulation is not that great. You can hear TV, foot steps from above and people opening and closing doors, talking in the hallway. We went on Bridge day. It was $300 a night of course. Expensive for this kind hotel.

Staff was extremely helpful on check in and after. The room was well equipped and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and plentifully stocked. Before I retired,I used Marriott for lodging. I have been pleasantly surprised how much these properties have changed my mind. You are far more economical and equally furnished. I will definitely use Comfort Inn in the future.

Very nice, clean place. Looked very modern and recently updated. Friendly staff and very decent breakfast selection.

Next time we will get a 2nd floor room. Very quiet except we seemed to be right across from a maintenance closet or something. All the room doors slam shut very hard, and it was very noisy until things slowed down later at night. Other than that, very well insulated room for outside and adjoining room noise. Would recommend some sort of soft close mechanisms on all the doors.
