Our stay at Peter's property was nothing short of extraordinary. Peter’s warm hospitality made us feel instantly at home. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The environment around the property was simply magical. Waking up to the sound of birdsong and being surrounded by nature was a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The wood heater inside the accommodation was a highlight, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere, especially during the cooler evenings. Sitting by the fire with a cup of tea was the perfect way to end our days. One of the most remarkable aspects of our stay was the wildlife. We were delighted to spot wallabies and a variety of native birds right outside the property. It was a unique experience to be so close to nature, and it added an extra layer of charm to our visit. Our time at Peter’s place was truly memorable. The combination of his exceptional hosting, the peaceful environment, the comforting warmth of the wood heater, and the enchanting wildlife made for an unforgettable getaway. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a serene retreat in nature.

So very comfortable and welcoming. It was a beautiful place to escape and listen to nature. Happy to spend time relaxing at the chalet but easy to reach fabulous beaches nearby. Excellent base from which to explore the coast from The Gardens to Bicheno.

There was nothing we didn’t like, our stay was superb.

Our cabin was wonderful. - the view, the wallabies who visited, the layout of the cabin - which included a very nice kitchenette.

Nothing. It was great.

We loved the stunning view, the quality & coziness of the cabin & furnishings, the warmth from the wood fire, the peace & quiet amidst natural surroundings and the chance to feed a frequent visitor, a wallaby mother & her Joey. Although it was contactless check in for health reasons there was a warm welcome message which was lovely as well as further interaction via message. This was a great place to take a break from the road as well as a unique experience. We could easily buy supplies in the nearby village, also meals.

The woodfire heater was set up to go and kept us warm the whole night. We don't have a lot of experience with wood fire heater so this was really helpful. The provided animal feed was a bonus as we get to feed some wallabies outside the property in the morning as well. It really made my day. I feel the hosts take a lot of effort and care to make the stay as pleasant as possible.

Got a bit confused with the instructions about the inverter charger as it's not something I've used before.

Comfortable and quiet accommodation. Good facilities. We stayed for 4 nights and found it convenient as a base for exploring the National Parks in the area. Ben Lomond (Stacks Bluff), Apsley Gorge, Bay of Fires (The Garden) walks all within 1 hr drive and St Patrick's Head walk nearby. Self catering is easy as St Mary's, nearby, has 2 IGA stores and a couple of restaurants.

We were greeted by a gorgeous wallaby and her joey when we pulled up. The cabin was perfect. Clean and comfortable. Great cooking facilities so we could stay in to cook and eat and enjoy the amazing views from the back deck and the lovely warm wood heater inside. Very private place. Hosts very accommodating and friendly.

Our only disappointment was we only stayed one night!

Gorgeous setting off the beaten path with a beautiful view of the ocean! The wallaby welcoming committee couldn’t be beat—they were delightful. Our host Peter communicated well and we felt comfortable in this eco-friendly cabin. We relaxed on the balcony and watched the sunset before having a peaceful night’s rest.

Nothing—everything was very nice.

it was cosy, picturesque and a wonderful getaway for those who wanting to get into nature. We had a friendly paddy melon join us in the afternoons looking for some tea, and were able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the breathtaking views. The fire during the chilly evenings was the cherry on top.

Absolutely no complaints. We would stay here a million times over.
