My husband, Lou bear & I stayed at Alpine Riverside Cottages in Porepunkah from 8.1.25-10.1.25.  Narelle, the host is very welcoming, helpful and friendly.  Our cabin was beautifully presented and was bright, inviting and sparkling clean.  It was fully self-contained. The really tall trees and river flowing through in the backyard provided a breathtaking and peaceful setting. We loved the beauty, tranquillity and comfort of our cabin. It was conveniently located to lots of activities and only minutes to Bright's cafes, restaurants, retail and supermarkets. We very highly recommend Alpine Riverside Cottages. Delighted guests, Bernadine & Lou bear

The staff were extremely friendly and gave us great advice on local activities. They upgraded our room just because a bigger one was available and it was amazing. The kitchenette was great and the room itself had amazing views of the river. There was a lovely walk down and along the river as well as a common room type area with games, a pool table, a fire pit and a ping pong table. I genuinely cannot wait to go back! (They also have a friendly dog which is also a bonus)!

The shower head kept falling lower then my head and the water pressure wasn't very high. The curtain in the kitchenette is quite see-through so privacy in that area seemed a little low (you have to walk through this area from the shower to the bedroom so you can't really do it with just a towel). However I'm being nit-picky and the place overall was incredible!

EVERYTHING! We love coming here! It’s just an amazing accommodation that exceeds all expectations. Our first holiday with our little one and we enjoyed every moment. We have been here before and coming back was the best decision. Narelle is very accommodating and is one of the best if not the best owner we have dealt with in all our travels in Australia and around the world. The surrounds of the accommodation is just bliss. The environment, the river, what Narelle has done with the place is just magical and we will be back very soon. Can’t beat it. As much as I would like to keep this accommodation a secret for our own benefit, I can’t help but share our wonderful experience to those who are seeking accomodation near Bright and surrounding areas.

We loved everything!

Peaceful, in a gorgeous setting with the river and golden trout dams nearby. Especially lovely during Autumn, when the trees turn fiery red and golden yellow. We actually stayed here twice in short succession, once going up to Canberra, and then coming back to Melbourne again. Both rooms were neat, clean and comfortable. The first room was on the block facing the main road, which meant a bit of traffic noise but that died down shortly after sunset. If you need more tranquility, ask for a room on the bottom block, closer to the river. The owner met us each time, and was the perfect host. We will definitely stay here again!

Staff member who met us (Narelle?) was lovely very friendly and gave advice about how to make the most of our trip to see the snow. Was also really great and understanding when one of our children broke the climbing frame and assured us her husband could fix it, and he did.

We experienced a powercut while we were there our second and last night. Did make for an interesting night with 4 kids staying with us, but it was back up and running quite quickly and I’m sure not their fault and likely the electric company, but did make for a dramatic evening in our cottage 🤣

Narelle was the best, she put every effort into us enjoying our stay. She greeted us like friends when we arrived and gave us advice and tips on how to make the most of our stay (even remembering I had said it was a weekend away for my husband's birthday!). The accommodation was clean and exactly what we needed for a short stay. The location by the river was just beautiful, with a lovely winery walking distance from the accommodation. Not that we ended up walking because the lovely Narelle gave us a lift! She really went above and beyond. We are already planning on coming back again with the kids, there is a playground and BBQ facilities we didn't use this time that they would love. And it's nice and close to the rail trail. We will definitely be back!

Everything was fabulous! No complaints at all.

Comfortable room at a nice location by the river. Although we didn’t use them, the in-site facilities (outdoor bbq area with tv, pool table and other things for use) looked excellent and would be great to use for a longer stay. The owners are wonderful and friendly as well as their happy dog who greeted us.

Our room was close to the main road so the traffic could be bothersome for some. In the evening though it is not a problem as the traffic dies off. There are rooms closer to the river that would likely be a better option if the daytime traffic was an issue.

This was a great place to stay to see Bright and surrounding areas. Porepunkah is a cute little town with beautiful autumn foliage and its own coffee spot. Narelle was the best host, so helpful and had great suggestions of things to do.

If you are a light sleeper you may find the traffic wakes you up as this place is on the Alpine Highway - it didn't impact my husband who slept like a log in the very comfortable bed! Otherwise it is a great place to stay, right on the river.

The proximity to the river and the front cabins. The openness of the lawns and gardens. The development of the water features. The quality of the outside kitchen utensils, cooking equipment, children's playground and the evidence of thoughtful design in everything that overcomes the ordinariness of the cabins themselves. In addition we enjoyed the friendly can-do attitude of the host in both the emails she sent and when we arrived.

We look forward to the completion of your various projects so we will visit again.

I absolutely loved every aspect of my stay at Alpine River Cottages, I was a little stressed as we arrived late but Narelle reassured me that is was more than okay. Will definitely be staying here again in the future as it was an amazing experience and Narelle is so wonderful and friendly, I felt so comfortable and like I was staying with a family friend instead of at a hotel.

That I couldn't stay longer and had to leave. :(
