This is a lovely property. If you can afford it, the more expensive rooms are a lot larger. Sometimes you have to walk a long way down corridors to get there though, so ask for a more proximal room if you are likely to find this difficult. This is our fourth visit so we obviously like it here. I like being able to walk around the grounds. I greatly appreciate the attempted protection of grey headed flying foxes. I like the history of this place. We didn’t stay for the event with over 500 children but there are also theatre events and other activities. The person who runs the cafe was excellent and to be commended. The server at breakfast is also worth a positive mention. All staff were pleasant.
There are significant surcharges on every credit card use, sometimes upwards of 2%. We could have been warned about the extra $45 added to our accommodation account, and then we could have used a different card and inserted it. Prices for restaurant and bar are substantial. Nonetheless, dining in the restaurant is a good experience, just perhaps not every night for cost reasons. The lack of maintenance of the grounds, especially around the river walk, is disappointing. I also hope that the parterre garden will be reestablished, as having a vegetable garden there may be more useful, but nowhere near as beautiful as the original parterre.

We had a fabulous three night stay at Lancemore Werribee Mansion Hotel commencing midweek that was sublimely peaceful and tranquil, I would highly recommend a midweek stay. The staff at Lancemore consistently go above and beyond to provide exceptional services to their clients. Initially there was an issue with our room and we were upgraded to a stunning quiet room. Very special thanks to Shirley for her understanding and help, not forgetting the wonderful birthday treat. Thank you to all staff for making my special day stay memorable. The grounds at Werribee Mansion are beautiful, all definitely worth a visit.
The music in the restaurant was a little too upbeat at times for breakfast/dinner!

Awesome property located in a luxurious setting. Very old-world. The bed was very comfortable and the appointments were excellent. The library with the lovely fireplace was an excellent space, please note the points below.
The room was awesome, let down by a couple of things: 1. the water pressure and temperature in the shower. We constantly had to adjust the hot water from scalding hot to freezing cold. 2. lack of towel rails or hooks to hang our wet towels on. 3. Lack of any hooks within the bedroom to hang a jacket or robe. 4. The library with the lovely fireplace needs more appropriate furniture. The leather chaise lounge and coffee table were definitely suitable, however it seemed that the remaining lounge and occasional chairs had been picked up from an op-shop and did not fit the image of an old-world library. I found several other areas within the property that fit this description, like the sitting area near reception where the chairs were very tired and did not fit the surrounds.

. The historic feel of the mansion and the grounds was amazing. The rooms were clean and modern without compromising the old feel of the building. The pool and spa were a highlight. The staff were all very busy doing their jobs and gave an air of friendliness and efficiency and strong work ethic and discipline. Very professional. The grounds were immaculate. The rooms and the Hotel were incredibly quiet at night even though the accommodation was fully booked. A lovely property and we will definitely be visiting again. I have already recommended it to friends and family. The pool tables were lovely.
We did eat out at night as the meal options were limited but then we don't get out much and we ate Thai and Chinese in Werribee. Bath robes for the pool would have been convenient..

Dinner at Josephs was fantastic on Sat night. Stayed on Sunday night after our wedding. Super King bed was amazingly comfortable and the spa bath in the room was perfect to relax in. We did just sit the spa pool and relax, very quiet and private at the time we were there. We had another random guest take a photo on the staircase just on an iPhone and it is one of our favorite wedding photos!
It is a shame that Joseph's restaurant no longer offers a lunch from the menu, we used to love going there with our elderly parents, but it is no longer an option as they want to order off the menu (not high tea) but for their main meal of the day which is lunch.

Location was great (zoo, winery, mansion and rose garden all within walking distance from accommodation). Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from. Staff friendly, helpful and obliging. Especially bar attendant who delivered our wine and food to Library as we sat beside the open fire each night. Plenty to do during our midweek 3 night stay. Acres and acres of scenic walks, great spa and swimming pool, massages available, giant pool table, bar and restaurant and relaxation by fire in library all at accommodation. Also the hours spent looking the Mansion was interesting.

The hotel grounds are lovely and great for walking around. The swimming pool was nice and we’d definitely recommend having a massage at the spa. The winery (Shadowfax) is nice and close and did an excellent tasting session.
I’m going to be a little critical as this place is five star; the room was a little dark, with only three lamps and no ceiling lights. At breakfast it would have been nice to have some fruit other than melon, which you really can’t put into muesli - berries or bananas would have been good.

This is a close to perfect hotel for people seeking a peaceful, quiet break. The building has lovely proportions (high ceilings, wide hallways), so it feels really quiet, even when busy (as it was when we stayed). The facilities are clean and comfortable. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch, as was the selection of teas. Breakfast was great - good range of choices for those trying to stay healthy and plant based, but also some meaty, carby ‘treats’! The setting itself is just beautiful …. Lovely gardens, access to the historic mansion, as well as to the river, which is unmanicured and beautiful in its own way. There was a colony (?) of ibis there on the evening we stayed (absolutely magical). We are not zoo types, but if you were that’s another bonus! We didn’t have time to use them but there’s also a pool and spa. The onsite restaurant is great if you want to avoid driving (gastro pub standard)
Almost the only whinge I’d have about this property (tho not a deal Breaker) is the coffee! The only way to get a good coffee is to order and pay for it at the bar when it is open . There is only instant coffee in the rooms and the breakfast coffee is very average indeed! It’s dispensed via a machine. A good pre-made drip coffe would be a kinder option for coffe drinking patrons!

Lovely weekend away with the Werribee Mansion hotel a quick 2 minute travel to the zoo and a 5-10 minute travel to the city centre with a range of restaurants, bars and pubs, however, most importantly to unwind with the on site spa, gardens and on site restaurant, this is a place to book for a week or weekend and never have to leave the grounds!
We weren't aware that we received free entry to the Mansion tour and to the Werribee Zoo until after the fact that we had already purchased tickets.

This is a stunning property to stay at and very comfortable.
I stayed for 6 nights and to say I was disappointed in the majority of the staff is an understatement! Everything from ordering drinks at the bar to checking out seemed like a complete inconvenience…. I have stayed here several times and the team on during this time certainly need some training in what hospitality means!
