The room was really nicely done and romantic, the terrace had an incredible view at the lake and mountains around

The staff was absolutely uncoordinated and rude, I have not seen anything like this in a hotel for a long time. Incredible. You need to breath really deeply o overcome this and shield yourself with a patience. The breakfast was really poor and if you come at 9am do not expect the tables around you to be clean any more. BTW: you'll also be asked by a waiter to be patient because you are in the 4 star restaurant and they need some time to serve you... :-) My Got!

The hotel sits right on the lake and faces the plaza. Sitting on our terrace looking out at the beautiful lake was one of the highlights of our trip. The price at the hotel is not cheap. You are paying a premium for the view….and it is worth it. Highly suggest getting a room with the terrace on the lake (we had a bigger terrace with a chaise and table and chairs) We also had dinner at their restaurant both nights, for the food and the views. Again, sitting on the lake enjoying a fine meal can’t be beat. The food at the restaurant was superb, and the service top notch As the hotel is old. like a typical Grand Hotel, the rooms are a bit old fashioned ,and there is no A/C (and we were there during a heat wave). While the bed itself was comfy, the pillow cases and comforter was not. See below about that. The room we had was one of their premium rooms so it was a very good size with a big terrace. The bathroom was also large with plenty of counter space. There was a desk to work on, and plenty of plugs for all your gadgets, both near the desk and nightstands. Wifi worked well. The website photos are indicative of the hotel, rooms, view etc. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It was worth the extra price to have such a lovely terrace on the lake and superb restaurant also right on the lake with terrific service. Just hope they change those pillow cases and comforter to something as luxurious to match everything else

the pillow cases and comforter were rough and not comfortable. Both were made out of a very rough material. Looked like burlap but not that rough. But still rough to sleep on. Clearly these items were chosen NOT for comfort, but for the look. At a high end hotel, I would expect soft comfortable pillow cases and comforter. Heck , you can get that at low end hotels…so why not a high end hotel where you are paying 600 Euros or more!!

this is my 2nd time staying here. first time didnt book the lake view so it was just okay considering the property location and the view of the lake, but this time I FELL IN LOVE with every aspect of it, from the location of the property (no doubt), the helpful and friendly staff, the food of its restaurant, the free shuttle for check in/out to the car parking, the spacious room during our stay (we got free upgrade and just realized during check out), THE VIEW from our balcony was just spectacular. this is what a memorable trip is supposed to be. thanks for making our honeymoon trip blessful.

Location at the centre, marketplace, a free shuttle service from the parking lot at P1. Walk 5 minutes to reach panorama view, go in the early morning can avoid crowds to take picture. Slightly old school, but it is good. The restaurant dinner white fish is superbly grilled w some lemon almond taste... breakfast is good.for Asians, try the blackcurrant juice and the honey in there. There is a small lane next to the hotel. can get a pretty good shots there too with some Swans there and a kitty cat.

old school style, but it is ok. heritage area anyway. and best if can upgrade to some USB ports charging plug. check out time too early 11am. but I don't know if EU check out time all the same, as some areas also at 11am.

The location is amazing! It’s a location that is almost immediate to the ferry and next to a church with a green area and swings. The restaurant was beautiful, with views of the water and the patio/deck on the water. Our room opened up to the city center with a nice patio. The pull out and the bed were both very comfortable. The room had a lot of character with high ceilings. The staff was friendly. The restaurant stays open a bit later. We loved the included breakfast and the atmosphere.

The bees (but not a problem that is focal to this place.). The flowers were absolutely beautiful and everywhere, but beware that sitting outside and enjoying the beauty of it all also means that you may be pestered and followed by bees. There wasn’t air conditioning in our room but it wasn’t really needed for the most part as there is a fan and a wonderful breeze with the windows open. It can get noisy if at night with the windows open based on location of the room.

Fabulous reception staff - we were unfortunately left stranded at a nearby train station on the day of arrival but a quick call to the hotel reception saw them sending a taxi within 15 minutes. Given we were sort of in the middle of nowhere this was much appreciated. Staff have been ever so helpful throughout our stay - helping us with reservation at the hotel restaurant, sorting out a pre packed breakfast on our departure day etc - nothing was too much trouble. The location is smack bang in the middle of the Marktplatz - the ferry is less than a minute away and the iconic photograph spot is just a 5 minutes walk.

The mattress on the bed in my room (104) appeared to be somewhat lopsided.. I’m unsure as why that’s the case but I felt like I was sleeping tilted on one side.

The hotel was in an amazing location. Right in the center of town next to the iconic church that everyone takes a photo of. The view out our window was gorgeous. We were right on the water. We had two rooms next to each other (very pleased that the hotel was able to accommodate that). The staff at check in and check out was extremely friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant there one night and the food and staff were fantastic. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The showers had great water pressure.

Traveling in Europe as a family of 4 sometimes required us to get two rooms (including at this hotel in Hallstatt). This is nothing against the hotel itself.....but we would definitely prefer to have rooms that accommodated 4 people. I am just not sure they exist in Hallstatt (or at least we couldn't find one). This hotel was at least able to get us two rooms right next to each other though so that helped. The other thing I'd say they could do better on was in the area of temperature. There was no AC. And we were on the 3rd floor so it was extremely hot. They did offer fans in each room though and we were able to open the door and get a breeze going.

Incredible location and a beautiful room. The balcony from the room had such amazing views. The room was fitted out well and very comfortable and large. Good mix of old world charm and modern conveniences. The restaurant for lunch was good as well

Breakfast wasn't up to scratch for a hotel of this quality and price. Staff were good, but lacked any real warmth or friendliness (for example, we were almost refused entry to breakfast because time was tight even though we got there 40 minutes before it was meant to close, and when we came to check in at 2pm the first thing the man said to us was "check in opens at 3" rather than welcoming us, taking our bags, and suggesting we go check out the town for an hour before coming back to check in)

Exceptional stay. From someone who has travelled almost 26 countries so far and most of my stays have been under the luxury category. A big shout out to Abhi at the front desk who catered to every small need. I travelled with my 4 year old son and the staff took care of us really well. -The views just can’t get better. The staff is extremely polite and helps in every possible manner. They take time to plan the sightseeing with you and offer you multiple recommendations. The town is pretty walkable and the hotel is right next to the post are point and the ferry/boat station. overall 10/10.

There's no better place to stay in Hallstatt other than Seehotel. We booked the room with lake view and a balcony that I could just live there. It felt like I was on a fairy tale. Very comfortable bed (not too soft), the bathroom, amenities and bathtub were also great. The room also had mini bar, nespresso machine and tea bags. The Breakfast has many and very good options. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was good (but nothing especial).

The breakfast was very crowded and staff kind of lost with such agitation (it seemed to me that people that were not guest at the hotel also had the option to have breakfest there); Hot bevarages were prepared by the hotel staff and it took me some time to get a capuccino since the staff was not well prepared for the amount of people; The hotel common area is also open to non guests, hence the bathroom next to the restaurante was dirty the one time I used it; It did not feel very safe that non guests could enter the common areas with no restriction, specially considering the reception allows the guest to leave their luggages there but there has some especif times with no one in the front desk.
