After reading the positive reviews on Booking dot com and Google, we decided to stay over the weekend at Sword Inn as a base point for our visit to Algonquin Provincial Park, and were not disappointed at all. Debbie is a gem and does her best to provide anything missing in the room. Location is excellent - right in heart of Bancroft and only 45 minutes from Algonquin Provincial Park. It is close to all facilities such restaurants, franchises and gas station, plus has a fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. Also comes with a parking space right in front of your room. Beware that Booking dot com listing mentions balcony and bbq, which is true, but the bbq is a common one for all, and the balcony/patio is actually a common space with common chairs that anyone can take away. But don’t worry - let Debbie know and she will bring new ones for you 😊. All in all - highly recommended!

Location. Nice games room. Bathroom was small but so comfortable to enjoy your shower.

Hot tub not working when we were there. But pool and sauna nice. No direction on getting to the games room. When my granddaughter went down the hall. The front desk clerk from the day shift. Yelled st her. "There's nothing down there. No sure what is to the right of the hallway but I made the same mistake the night before. Breakfast small but the only thing hot was to make your own waffles, toast or bagel.

Very clean and spacious room. Nice bathroom, with tub :)! There was a nice outdoor space, very spacious and green, next to the river and near a park. Location is great, beautiful area. breakfast was decent and much appreciated, the yoghurt and waffles were the best part! Pool was clean and spacious. Small clean sauna was a lovely surprise. Pet friendly and welcoming.

I was sad the spa was closed. it would have been nice to access the pool earlier in the morning. freezing cold in the bathroom/changing rooms next to pool. It was slightly confusing to get to the room- would be nice to have more signage outside. no picnic tables in the back area/playground to sit and eat outside- its so pretty back there! Coffee tasted like water and fresh fruit had got bad.

I always stay here. As a child, the owners would send their overflow of guest to my parents lodge. I have history here. My picture is on the office wall with my parents.

I love the cabana, but can't always afford it. I thought the room (124) was small for the price. Comfortable yes, could have had a second chair to sit in other than the office chair. I just feel that it's very pricey for the size of the room. My husband is 6 feet tall. He had to sleep on an angle. It was not a Queen bed.

perfect for the rally weekend. the front desk lady was extremely friendly and always had a smile. she greated us as soon as we walked in. she was very helpful and we had great conversations. we will be back for sure.

that I was not offered the family suite on booking.com as that would have been a better fit for our stay.

The receptionist was amazing. We had a small issue with the tv, and it was likely my issue not the tv, and she came and fixed it right up. Breakfast was self serve and a great variety of choices both warm and cold. Close to eating places for dinner and a lovely park next door to enjoy

I don't think there was anything I didn't like

Room was clean, continental breakfast was plentiful, pool is huge, warm and well maintained.

Due to nerve damage from cancer I walk with either a walker or a cane. The only available room was on the second floor. With no elevator nor ramp I had quite a workout climbing the stairs one step at a time, assisted by my cane. I think all the climbing actually strengthened the muscles and rebuilt some nerve pathways in my damaged leg. An offer to switch to a first floor room for our second and third nights would have been greatly appreciated .

I was concerned about reviews which complained about the cleanliness of the room. I was pleasantly surprised that the room was clean (with no bad odours which some reviews noted). The bed was comfortable and everything worked well.

I wanted to split the cost with my friend which I’ve had not trouble doing so in the past at other motels. Usually motels/hotels want your credit card info upon making the reservation but don’t actually charge it until you arrive (or fail to do so). However I was told that the it was already charged to my credit card before my arrival.

Breakfast was continental. Pool was great as was the sauna and games room (pool table). The hot tub was closed for repairs.

Our room on this visit was a little older than the other times we've stayed here, but it was clean and adequate. We liked that it had ots own entrance and we could park right outside our room - some of the other rooms have a shared lobby entrance.

Centrally located in downtown Bancroft. Staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and housekeeping was good. Quiet.

Bathroom was a little small and needed a bit of updating. Breakfast selection wasn’t that great.
