The owner was just amazing. It is a family owned business: the owner and his wife completely renovated the entire facility themselves, and they did such a wonderful job. I would've never guessed that it was just a team of two. The owner was so very receptive and offering, even though we were just staying a few hours overnight, to get some sleep. You can tell by the way he speaks that he is so proud of his business, and he would do most anything to ensure his customers comfort during their stay. He assured us that he is just a phone call away, if we need anything. I would stay here 100 more times, and I know that great service, and a comfortable bed, would be ensured each and every time.

Everything was great. I wouldn't be able to find anything to complain about, even if I wanted to.

The staff were super friendly and very inviting. The room was very clean (with one minor exception), beds comfortable, neighbours quiet, bathroom clean. Plenty of storage space for belonging if you're staying for extended time, fridge and microwave in the room. Very happy with the stay, would book again.

The coffee maker had not been cleaned after the previous guest so there was a spent coffee pack inside and a lot of fruit flies. Didn't realize the source of the flies until the morning after when I went to make coffee. A bit disappointed with that because I like a coffee in the morning, but otherwise perfect.

Quaint motel just outside of Port Hope in the Hamlet of Welcome.. The property is well maintained and tidy. The room was clean, well-appointed, and clean. I enjoy staying at motels such as this. As a motorcycle rider, I can park my bike directly in front of my room. The owner was friendly and helpful. The bath tub had no stopper, but he provided one quickly. He rightfully explained it is like this as people used to steal them.

clean I didn't hear my neighbours so it seemed quiet

the heater fan went on and off even though I had the fan set to be constantly on. it is loud so as it went on and off during the night it disrupted my sleep. also there is only one heater unit at one end of the room so the other end of the room with bathroom was very cold. didn't want to even shower because getting out would be uncomfortable. and it was only around freezing temperatures, imagine in very cold weather.

wasn't expecting much, owners very nice, to your service. The room was very clean # 115, better than some high priced hotel in the GTA. i would not hesitate to come back again. Looks like a motel, you park your car in front of the room, so really easy to unload the luggage !!! i left Toronto to get back to Quebec city. i felt like driving a bit so i would have less road the next day. almost 2 hour drive from Toronto, that was a wonderful pit stop.

i would have to be very ''picky'' to start looking for something i didn't like.

My spouse and I had a wedding to attend about 10 minutes down the highway and needed a simple room to be able to change our clothing and stay for one night. Before we booked we researched several different locations to stay and chose this one based soley on reviews, even though there were closer motel/inns to the wedding. We were not disappointed. When we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was ready for us and clean. The location is about 5 minutes from stores and restaurants which was fine as we brought a small amount of food with us for the mini-fridge. Later that evening when we arrived back to the room the parking lot was well lit and the room easily accessible. We were not disturbed by any other guests and were able to get a decent sleep. We were up and gone first thing the next morning for another family event, so we were happy to have the option to leave the key in the room upon exit.

Being out in the country, the water has a sulphur smell which is not harmful, just a bit stinky. That would not stop us from staying again as everything else was perfect for what we needed.

The location is just off of the highway so very easy to get to. Very clean and the owners were very accommodating.

The space around the beds is a little tight. With two queen beds both people have to get in on the same side as there is no room between the wall and bed. Standard beds seem to be high in any hotel, motel and I almost feel like I need to carry a little step stool with me. I have difficulty getting on the bed because of the height and me being short.

Away from traffic but still very accessible from highway. Quiet. I have stayed there before and enjoyed it. Heat and AC working fine. Room had a nice floor which I prefer instead of a carpet. Owner was very pleasant an helpful.

Bed (mattress) was too high for me, as I am not very tall, but I understand that beds are available with thinner mattress, something to remember for next time. Step stool was also available but I did not know this till I talked to the owner the next day.

Owner is a very nice gentleman, welcoming and looks to provide good customer service. Clearly he has put alot of work into the place. Nice room set up with a good desk for someone looking to work on a Laptop. 42ish inch flat screen TV new beds and furniture. Good wifi connection. Clean room

Could use some vending machines or sell some things in the office.

After a very nice welcome and efficient dealing with payment etc, we were pleased to find our room clean looking and smelling, with things working properly (TV, heater, water etc.). We slept very well, on a comfortable bed with nice coverings. The location (1.5-2 kms from the 401) is very handy, especially for people not actually planning to visit Port Hope, but (like us) carrying on with their trip in the morning.

Improvements only: 1) In a room with a double bed, like ours, I think there might be enough room for a small 2-person table and two chairs, so that people (like us, who had brought food for our supper) would have something to put food on and/or sit at. 2) Also, a small towel bar, below or beside the sink, would be handy for (in use) hand-towels and facecloths; all we could do was fold them and leave them on the counter, where they stayed unnecessarily damp.
