Everything. The hotel is close to the Xuanwu Lake and in walking distance to the Xuanwu Gate. It’s easy to get in and out traffic wise but feel quieter than the Xinjiekou area. The hotel is newer than most peer group such as Westin and Hilton. The staff is very friendly and better quality than its peer group as well. The cleaning staff especially go out of their way to help. Their Chinese restaurant Jiangnan Zao is delicious. We stayed in three hotels (Westin, Hilton Riverside) in Nanjing on a recent trip and Shangrila is by far the best.

The staff are friendly with good follow up. They contacted us via email and phone call prior to our arrival. Prompt response for room services. The chicken rice is super delicious.

The breakfast can be further improved by having more western mixed food. It would be good to have hand sanitiser in the restaurant, else have to walk a bit further to wash hands.

The property was fantastic overlooking the beautiful river outside. The dining options were vast and met every need the drinks downstairs were ideal for lounging. The workout facilities and the swimming pool were beautiful.

I wish that the food options were open, just a little bit later downstairs, but ultimately it was a great experience and even had live entertainment.

Beautiful hotel, well located close to Xuanwu lake. Big and clean room, big bathroom. Very nice staff, good English speaking service. Breakfast is amazing, lots of choice, top quality.

Strange smell in the bathroom. Some furniture are a bit old and damaged and would need to be changed.

We enjoyed friendly staff and also the wonderful restaurant onsite. The bed is very comfortable and view is fanstatic! will definitely back again.

Spacious room and view

We booked a twin bed room but the room we were given was facing a building in construction with a lot of noises. This was not stated in booking.com. They could not give us another twin room in different location. In the end they gave us a king bed room and added a bed.

The service was amazing. The team surprised my fiancé and I with a cake and a card, and left us tiger-themed goodies for the Chinese New Year. Breakfast is copious and has lots of Chinese & Western options including tang bao, jian bing, and proper bacon. The spa area is nice and well maintained as are the pool and gym. Our room had a nice view with a huge bathroom and closet area. Little details like pillow choice made all the difference. We really enjoyed our stay! Thanks to Shangri-la for making our Lunar New Year special!

The location is really close to the train station (good) but there isn't much around the hotel in the way of restaurants and shops.

Room spacious, nice design, city view. Huge, comfortable bed. Beautiful pool.

Breakfast area looks cheap. Staff not unfriendly but should be trained better. Gym shower area dirty. Location unconvenient, nothing around there.

I received a very comfortable, large (45 m2) and well-equipped room for a very reasonable price. Also, very friendly staff and a number of facilities (including swimming pool).
