The staff was very friendly and caring, even arranged someone to meet and guide me to the place. Loved the terrace outside, such a cool vibe with cool ppl from around the world.

The location of the place is really hidden lol: just follow the small alley between Novotel hotel and Shanghai Pudong Veolia water/recycling corporation customer service buildings.

The location is good and the hostel is easily reachable via line 14. A lot of travelers stay here long term, so it's easy to make some longer lasting friendships within a local community.

Not so many international travelers visit this hostel.

The staff and people are amazing and every person told me that this place is unique in Shanghai with its social atmosphere - similar to European hostels. In other places people don't really talk to each other, but here you can sit down and have a great time in the lobby together with other guests and staff members. As one of the few hostels in Shanghai which have the certificate to host foreigners, I found people with a good level of English who helped me a lot (translating), recommended me food to try and places to visit, as well as some other international guests who have lived in China longer gave me great tips. I was also lucky to have some super nice roommates who answered all my questions and fed me when I was in doubt about what to eat here. The staff as well made sure they support me in every way and tried to solve every problem as quickly as possible. I rebooked this place 2 times since I arrived and will probably stay until I cannot find an apartment.

I think this place was booming before but the pandemic had a toll on this hostel too. There are many facilities which need maintenance and spaces could be cleaner. I would have been grateful for more guidance on address registration (they do it for you so you don't need to go to the police station in 24 hours), rebooking, SIM cards and where the facilities are and what I can use but I believe it was due to a language barrier. Unfortunately, the coffee machine was not working and there are not many cafes nearby but it is possible to order. It is also far from the centre so after 11 pm when the metro stops working it can be tricky to go back to the accommodation if you went out.

Dayin offers beds or private rooms. I liked my room because there was a window to let in fresh air, the shower cubicle is separate from the toilet and, best of all, the sink is outside of the shower & toilet, making it far more hygienic to fill a kettle. The staff were superb in giving directions in English, especially since I needed to attend Shanghai Hospital every day. The hostel is located near three metro stations!!

The TV in the room did not have a single need channel, not even in Chinese! I could get such channels AND CGTN in cheaper hotels in other cities.

The staff are very nice and speak English Lu Wu are very helpful, check in is very straightforward, provided a clean beddings without extra charge.The room is very clean you have your own privacy with the curtain. Drinks and coffee can be purchase in the lounge area very reasonable price. The whole property is very clean and had a nice relaxing garden.

There are nearby coffee shops which make it convenient for coffee lovers. It's about a 10-minute walk to the subway station. The common areas have a nice environment and atmosphere. The hostel beds are decent, nothing exceptional.

bathrooms not being cleaned promptly.

My favorite things are the tables, chairs, and plants in the yard, as well as warm lighting tones. Every night, scattered friends gather to chat, and the living environment is also very comfortable. If I have the opportunity to come here again next time, I will continue to choose this hotel.

The only drawback is that I have to pass through a garbage collection station, but this is also harmless. The store manager Ning answers every question and also a nice guy for being friends.

This is the best hostel that I have ever experienced in China! With quite a low cost you can get a good living condition in the big city Shanghai. I arrived at night and the court impressed me a lot, it was beautiful and people were relaxed in the court, the room was warm and well-I had a good sleep. the staff there were so friendly and helpful too me. Will get back here when I go to Shanghai again next time.

Really nice garden and common area friendly staff, but their English is not really great

I don't like that the bathroom is in the room with no extra door. It is really annoying, if you're trying to sleep and someone is getting ready in the bathroom… No free cold drinking water or water refill available

Im very happy with the staff of the hostel, they let me make my own coffe and they had a very good response to some problems I had, I would like to go back for sure, also they help me to call a taxi to the airport at late night, they have hot shower and all toilet area is clean. It really deserves for that price.

May need to ask for a towel if you need one
