I recently stayed at the Hilton Santa Marta, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The hotel is placed in a closed and safe compound in a quiet place and is marvellous for some well deserved rest. The hotel and the rooms are nicely decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The food is absolutely delicious, the chef came to greet us and served us some off menu items. The water in Santa Marta can’t be consumed however there are empty bottles in the room that can be refilled with filtered water. There was an issue with the shower and the staff helped us moving our luggage’s to another room. The roof pool and bar has a breath taking view. There is a second pool for family’s near the restaurant.

No private beach even though the description says so. No staff monitors who comes in and out to the “semi-private” beach area. Beach area only has 4 tents and it’s not really first come first serve but you gotta play favourite with the staff which is kind of annoying. Even if you are on the beach at 6am, unless you have chatted nicely with the staff you won’t get a spot. They like to play favourites.

The location was great. Facilities in general and room was very nice. I was a bit disappointed on the pillows and mattress as they were a bit hard. Previous to my stay in Santa Marta I stayed i another Hilton in Cartagena and the bed and pillows were more comfortable. The other downsize was the swimming Poole. It is very beautiful but only get the sun in the afternoon and it’s very cold, and the other swimming pole on the top floor is for adults only so no good for family with kids. Also the hotel does not have umbrellas by the beach front and other hotels close by like Mercure have.

I highly recommend Hilton Santa Marta, the staff all along the hotel was extremely polite and helpful. The room service was really good. The food was always amazing. The rooftop bar with a superb chill atmosphere, great music, delicious finger food, an infinity swimming pool and a stunning view to the ocean and the mountains. Located in Belo Horizonte, which is about 25-30 min. Taxi drive from downtown. The rooms are huge and facilities are in Hilton level. Especially the rooftop pool and bar. Staff were very helpful and nice. A clean beach is right next to the hotel, but it’s public with vendors and a lot of families on weekends. Altogether a good hotel.

Quite far from town, although a nice mall is 10 minutes walking from the entrance. For everything else you would need a taxi. Besides that- all good

There must be a cash machine in the hotel. It will be helpful as we must pay in cash to the taxis and the hotel is about 20 min from the city center.

The service with the exception of the pool bars was off the chart especially the front desk. It was way, way, WAY beyond expectations. The restaurant on the ground floor as well, true first class attention.

The service in the pool bars was horrible, I literally walked away from the sky bar because the bartender was on the phone talking to somebody, he looked at me, didn't acknowledge me, and went back to his call. I finally just walked away. I was dumbstruck.

Excellent breakfast with many varieties of food and fruit. Room size was excellent with great tv and cable options. Bed was very comfortable Bathroom was great with excellent shower and supplies. Check in was friendly and easy. Great rooftop bar with and infinity pool. .

Only thing was it took a long time to get hot water in the shower but was minor issue. Nothing else,
