Great staff and welcomed us with a drink and we had a small departure gift. The location was perfect, near from the beach and 5 min by walk from the docks. There was 2 fans in the room Good quality for the price!

It was very very hot in the room, we really wish we had A/C but we knew we wouldn’t have it when we booked. Overall it could use some renovations but it was clean and absolutely fine for a couple of nights.

Staff were lovely and welcoming. Room serviced regularly. coffee and tea freely available and fridge to store items in if required. Hammocks are a nice touch

Despite the fans the rooms were still very hot, but looking at the other accommodation in the area, we think this would be a universal issue as none seemed to have ac. We had to leave early so didn’t ever find out what the little check out gift other reviewers referred to was lol. Other than that minor disappointment, there is really nothing to complain about.

I can recommend staying at this place, it is a good value for the money. The rooms are quite big with 3 beds in it and for me, having no AC was not a problem. It cools down during the night. As there are no windows just mosquito nets, you can hear the other guest quite good. You can place your food in the fridge at the reception. There is no place to cook, but there are tables to eat and a common area. The Hostel is close to the beach.

Great location super close to the beach and town, the staff are exceptional and help with whatever they can. Plus they offer fresh tropical fruit juices on arrival can’t go wrong there

Jose was the best, welcoming, helpful and generally great guy. Welcome drinks are delicious, rooms are clean, bright, spacious and brightly decorated. Close access to the beach and the tour company they use are also amazing for all the tours you want. Use of fridge freezer to keep water cold was great too. Departing gift was the cherry on top 💚

Rooms are sooooooo hot. AC would be an excellent addition.

Nice location, quiet surroundings, nice staff, clean room. Taking a boat taxi then hike up the hill in the national park and seeing turtles laying eggs were our high light of this trip.

the owner is very nice and he is trying to help with everything. Colorful decoration and big rooms with lot of space for bag and suitcases.

rooms upstairs are a bit too hot during the day but they get cool enough for having a good sleep at night.

The staff at Tortuguero Natural was really very friendly and helpful. We received a delicious welcome drink when we arrived. The room was quite spacious as we had a room with a double bed and two singles just for the two of us, although I can imagine that it would be a bit crowded if you are with 4 persons. The bathroom is a bit dated but everything was clean, worked well and we had hot water. There are no real windows, just insect screens, so you can hear the outside noises rather well. The room had a ceiling fan and two standing fans which helped cool down the space a bit during the day. We appreciated the hammocks in the common area downstairs and the location was perfect. It is close to the main street, about a 3-5 minute walk and maybe 100 meters from the beach. We would happily stay here again if returning to Tortuguero.

Hosts were absolutely lovely, very accommodating and helpful with any questions you have. They definitely made the stay at the hostel worth it!

Only one issue was rooms were quite warm during the night. Rooms did have fans in them but still was very hot

Amazing place! The town is tiny, but the hotel is a 30 second walk to the beach and about a 2 minute to the main strip in the other direction. Private rooms, hot water and right beside a little park. The one staff member there all the time was very nice and welcoming.

Who I thought was the owner of the place was not so welcoming and joyful. I got the vibe pretty quickly that I upset him for some reason. I booked the place on accident as my fellow travellers were at another place so I asked to cancel my second night which ended up being allowed, but I retracted that about an hour later after I found out this place was way better. I paid the other staff for my second night immediately an hour later after I decided to stay, but the owner was not too pleasant after that.
