Having read reviews before going - I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of our stay. The hotel Is in the middle of nowhere and 1.5 hour boat ride from a parking lot (also in the middle of nowhere). The rooms are comfortable, there are 2 great swimming pools. We saw lots of animals in the lodge. The food is buffet style and quite decent

I haven’t enjoyed the tour operator style - all the people who arrive on the same boats eat together and stay together. The boat tour included in the rate is a bit too late and it was incredibly hot and too sunny. Animals tend to be less active at that time. I would recommend going earlier if you can.

It was very authentic and the pool areas were lovely. The trips into the national park were excellent and the guides were fantastic and very knowledgable.

Didn’t really not like anything, there’s no AC, the fan does cool the room at night time, but during the day the room was unbearably hot, not really a problem for us as we were outside all day, but if you have little ones that need a nap, worth considering bringing a little fan.

Set in extensive and beautifully maintained gardens, the accommodation is in basic cabins. The location on the river is amazing and having the Caribbean Sea on the other side of the property is an added bonus. The adult pool was sublime, and the children’s pool looked great too. The bars and the restaurant were great, staff very nice.

Would have preferred ac in the room, it has an old looking oscillating fan which did help.

Very nice resort in the rain forest. Ver well maintained outdoor area with beautiful garden.

It is located 2km north of Tortuguero village. So you have to take taxi for 10 dollars (4-5000 CRC) or walk along the beach (nice walk). Breakfast option slightly limited.

I loved the Laguna lodge experience - it was just brilliant. The guides and tours on the river ways were exceptional, the hotel was great, the food was plentiful, and the staff were super friendly. One of the few hotels that has direct access to the beach.

Wildlife tours on lagoon, beach and through the canals Unique Laguna Lodge accommodation Tour guides were amazing, so knowledgeable and excellent at spotting wildlife!

Rooms were quite hot overnight and bathrooms a little slippery on floor

Awesome location and views! The views from the restaurant and the bar overlooking Rio Tortuguero are beautiful. The food was good. They have two swimming pools and a private entrance to the beach. The place is full of beautiful birds and the boat tours of the river were really nice. Overall, a really nice stay.

I really have no complaints.

- nice grounds and pool, Buffett is good but pricey

- it’s pricey, and there are no other options for food other than the Buffett which is $20 US per person each meal; a fridge in room would greatly improve the stay, presumably they want you to buy their overpriced drinks rather than bring your own.

Lovely natural setting, nice and secluded. Lovely trail walk into the village.

Swimming pools little too warm during day.

I HIGHLY recommend the all inclusive Tortugero package through Laguna Lodge. They pick you up in San Jose and baby you through a wonderful rainforest experience. Beautiful hotel, good food and bar. Cool excursions. We loved it
