The hotel is located in the very center of the old city center, which is an exceptional feeling. The rooms are superbly decorated, very spacious and comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good.

Parking is very inconvenient because the hotel is reached through narrow city streets, which can be a problem for poor drivers and larger cars. The parking lot is not marked, but parking is done on the narrow city streets with the promise of the staff that they will not disturb anyone.

Very clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Large. Stayed only for night solo so its OK for the purpuse. Breakfast is delicious altho very limited ! I supose location is superb if visiting Kastav.

Only reason Im not highest score - Parking. When I arrived there, receotionist was nice and after opening ramp showed me were to park. Tomorrow morning I found warning ticket on my windows regarding parking from communal security Kastav altho I parked exactly where I was told by stuff. So I assume they have issue with local authorities regarding parking places for customers.

First of all, after we parked our car we were picked up with the electric car of the hotel so we wouldn’t have to walk all the way up with our luggage. This was a pleasant experience. We then got an unexpected upgrade and the room was just… gorgeous! The staff were very professional and friendly, breakfast was delicious, including the coffee and fresh orange juice. We had dinner at the hotel on Friday and it was the best we had in a while. We had such a lovely evening here! Delicious food, wines, and live music. The surroundings allow for pleasant walks and the views are amazing.

I first discovered this hotel https://kukuriku.hr/ with renowned chef, Nenad Kukurin, in a New York Times article dated Jan-22-2006, that I’ve held onto since then! It’s taken me this long to get here, but better late than never; Nenad and his wife Tamara are the most wonderful hosts, and their hotel, a former school renovated into a top end, stylish, artistic and classic hotel, is perfect in every way! I had breakfast and dinner on the beautiful courtyard terrace for three days and nights, and all were excellent. I certainly hope to return!

Kastav is not really touristy but it's only a few minutes from Opatija and is much quieter and very lovely. Kukuriku is in the old town and it's SUCH a lovely hotel with a great restaurant. I don't think the listing here does it justice - check out their website to get a better sense of the hotel.

When they tell you they will pick you up at the city limits, don't believe it, because maybe they won't. If they tell you that the degustation menue has four courses don't believe it, it has only three (unless you count in the amuse bouche). But apart from this the suites are meticulously furnished and the dinner is marvelous owing it's quality not only to the fine preparation but also to the delicately selected ingredients. Even the salad leaves tasted as if every one of it has been separately grown. Last time I tried I didn't get a table. This was twenty years ago. It was worth the wait.

Clean and cozy room, delicious breakfast, very nice bar and we were lucky to have an exceptional Easter dinner. Highly recommended! Best value for this price. There are lots of trails nearby and you can walk in the forest 😻 The city is a historical place and it was a very nice visit.

Lovely hotel in the historic center of the city. Owners and staff are very kind and very helpful. Since the hotel is in the center of the city with very narrow streets they suggest you where to park the car and come to pick you up with an electric vehicle. Rooms are enormous and have very big bathrooms. Very clean overall. Restaurant has excellent dishes and had live music the evening of our stay. Would surely recommend!

If I have to say something, the breakfast was very good quality but could have some more choice (cakes, cookies,...). But you can have eggs and fresh juice, therefore it is already very good :) Everything else was perfect.

Friendly staff, big spacious stylish room. Great breakfast - including freshly squeezed orange juice. Good, solid comfortable beds. Large, well equipped bathroom. Quiet at the night. I thorougly enjoyed my stay.

Kukuriku was kind of hard to find. They sent instructions but of course I didn’t read them. Follow the instructions and you’ll find there. Address in Google Maps doesn’t work.

The best hotel we ever had! We enjoyed the spacious very well designed room equipped with high quality furniture and large bathroom with large bathtube. At every corner you notice love to detail. It is really magical atmosphere out of the window on the square in front of the hotel especially in the evenings when live music plays. The very pleasant staff will arrange everything you need. There are free parking lots in the city behind a nice church ruine. We would give 20 points if it would be possible!
