I like The Manila Hotel because of its rooms and the security guards.

The lady at the front desk wearing a black suit who checked us in was not hospitable. Maybe because we got the discounted room and we didn’t look presentable, just like any other guests at that time. If that is not the reason, then personal issues should be set aside next time and prove that you have 5-star service no matter what.

it’s very clean. the staff were excellent-very hospitable and attentive. I was pleased there are steam iron and ironing board inside our room and I was able to iron my blouse. It’s different from other hotels. Although it’s an old building it keeps up with the time. There is a bit of nostalgia - the telephone operator. The place is just awesomely beautiful. The staff were immaculately dressed and polite. There is attention to details I may say. That is why Manila Hotel is still here today whilst the others closed.

There is nothing I don’t like in this hotel. Good security check and I feel safe.

Great location; incredibly kind & helpful staff; wonderful buffet — so many choices. Oh, and 24-he room service!!! However, the onsite medical clinic was a godsaver. Furthermore, when the hotel couldn’t find an available taxi at night, an ass’t mgr drove me around for well over 30 minutes to find an open 24-hr pharmacy! Who does that these days! P.S. Political candidates held a press conference here and a Korean delegation was here for the summit with the President.

Nothing. (Oh, I heard some other guest say there was no hair dryer in their room — but they could just call up for one!)

I like how there was a complimentary mini bar since the first day I had booked directly with the hotel but when booking through booking.com it was not included. The pool was open until 10pm. There is a variety of food choices for room service.

Our room was facing the road so it was noisy since trucks cross especially at night. When wearing shorts a slippers as an in house guest I always felt judged when going down to the lobby with the feeling that I dont belong, since in the lobby there are lots of people who are there to attend events. Would always be asked by the staff what room I am from.

A landmark in Manila. A building with a history to tell. I opted for a room in the 'old' building - and i was right : the room was spacious, with a view to Rizal Park and the entrance driveway. Buffet Breakfast is spectacular ! Starting by 6 am. With a large variety of pinoy, chinese, korean, american and european food. The pool is good. With 3 segregated areas for kids, non-swimmers and swimmers. With a bar integrated. The gym is well equipped, and has a locker room with shower. Can also be used for pool users. Security is excellent. Luggage wil be x-rayed upon checkin. Guards and dogs at the entrance and exit.

Beautiful hotel in walking proximity to the old town of Manila. The service is excellent and staff very friendly. The rooms are spacious and have all the comfort you can ask for. The bar has excellent drinks and life music.

Us personally did not like the breakfast that much. Although we like that portions are served from the buffet instead of self service it had a canteen feeling. Feeding the masses instead of a relaxing quiet breakfast. For our taste most food (especially cooked ones) were to oily. For us as europeans most common areas like lobby, bar, restaurant were too cold, so take a scarf or shirt with you.

My request to have the three rooms I booked to be adjacent to each other was granted. The breakfast is very good, many choices and so delicious! The room is clean and cozy.

The parking! Though I understand that it's on a 'first come first serve basis', there were available slots when we checked in. The personnel in charge of parking insisted to avail of valet parking instead - and that's for a fee! Though minimal amount, but still if you're a guest who checked in, just like me - for three days and three rooms, parking fees should be waived - just like in any other hotel, like Sofitel, Solaire etc.

The place is very nice and very clean. Staff are very helpful from the doorman to the porters.

Upon check-in, it took me nearly an hour to sort it out my booking us. It was double book, apparently according to the receptionist and we waited so long for them to sort it out. They even want me to pay two rooms just for me and my daughter, which is clearly stated in my booking that one room for two adults And it’s really disappointing coming from a long flight of 18 hours then you have to wait nearly an hour again to be able to go to your room just for this kind of mistake. Also the first two mornings during breakfast we were sent at the extension of the restaurant which is not really nice. The breakfast is very minimal and very little. They did not show us where the breakfast room was. Instead they showed us the extension.

Exceptional service. We needed a doctor or nurse in the middle of the night and Manila Hotel's in house nurse was quick and excellent. The next day we needed medication and the Manila Hotel staff were able to provide a telephone doctors consultation where we were prescribed medicine. Then, Manila Hotel organised a private car to drive us to the pharmacy. Because of this we didn't have to waste any time at a hospital or clinic. Will stay here again for this peace of mind.

It's an older Hotel so some parts of the wall paper was tearing. It's also quite cold in the main areas, but no major dislikes.

My request was granted in terms of two rooms close to each other. however, the linens are not quite crisp and clean, I am just wondering if they have changed it before we use it. The breakfast was good, so many choices, however, they did not refill immediately, so we were not able to taste some of the Chinese and Korean foods—no condiments on the table. The price is not reasonable, I've been to other 5-star hotels but the price is reasonable enough given that we had an event in the hotel, they should be giving a discounted rate. But overall it is still nice to stay.
