I can definitely recommend to book this accommodation if you want to stay in downtown Cairo. It is as 5 min walk to Egyptian Museum – Downtown Cairo is no tourist hassling area like in Giza and in my opinion completely safe. You can safely relocate with Uber. The Owner Yasser is fully reliable and helped us organizing several excursions and tours in Cairo and also in upper Egypt. Ask him when you start organizing your trip and just compare to what you find e.g. on Tour Radar. Prices are very fair and he kept word on all he promised. Especially the overnight trip to white desert was a highlight of our trip. Yasser actually facilitated the organisation of my trip a lot. - Thanks for that. Yasser also offered us a free evening walking tour with him in the Muslim part of central Cairo. The only thing he accepted after the 2-3 hours walk was an invitation for diner where we had very interesting conversations about Cairo and Egypt.

The building is a bit old as well as the elevator. But once you enter the apartment it is a different world.

Mosque nearby and will hear the muezzin – one who makes the call to prayer – call the adhan from the minaret These are loud and will wake you early morning

The location is great, very close to the Egyptian museum, the metro station, KFC, McDonald's, and good Egyptian restaurants. Yasser's free walking tour in Islamic Cairo was one of the highlights of our trip. We really enjoyed it and learnt a lot about the city. We used the metro during the Egyptian weekend and worked well for us. Yasser arranged efficiently an early check-in and late checkout for us.

The property was beautiful, spacious and very clean. What really made our stay was Ahmed, he went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. He took us on a walking tour, which ended up being favourite part of Cairo. We highly recommend staying here,

Downtown Family Suites Review An exceptional stay right in the middle of Cairo city. Accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable for a family of 4. We booked a two bedroom apartment. The toilet is newly renovated and has modern taps, with ready hot water. Access to this apartment is via lift which unfortunately is not as reliable. We were upgraded to a bigger more spacious suite which did not require us to use the lift towards the end of our stay. The noise from the traffic can be high, but this must be expected when staying in downtown area. Do prepare earplugs if you’re sensitive to noise. Otherwise, our family welcomes the accessibility and the convenience of the location. Yasser is very responsive to our needs and for our stay here, he had arranged the best guides to our planned itinerary. The prices we paid are reasonable and the choice of the restaurants on our guided tour dates were satisfactory. Yasser was able to share with us the best places to have Egyptian food (thanks for recommending Gad) and other cuisines. The location of the apartment is near to other restaurants that serve Lebanese, other middle eastern cuisine and fast food like KFC and Hardees. On our second last day, Yasser brought us to a walking tour through Islamic Cairo where he made history come alive with stories he shared about Sultan Ismail when we passed the palace through to stories of Sultan Mu’ayyad Syaykh when we visited the mosque, and climbed the tower in Bab Zuweila to see the rest of Islamic tours.

The traffic noise which was to be expected in downtown.

Very good value for money. The owner was very friendly and helpful. If you want to experience a bit more about the life of ordinary Egyptian people the apartment is in the right location. The free walking tour offered by the owner is very worth of taking.

The hotel is located in a really good place. I would like to thank to Ahmed because he was a kind and helpful guy. You also have YouTube on the TV in your room. And If you stay more than 2 nights you will get a free airport pickup.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Family Downtown Suites in Cairo. The experience was made exceptional by the outstanding hospitality and kindness of the staff, who went above and beyond to make sure every need was met. He made us feel completely at home, offering personalized assistance and making sure our visit was perfect. Every interaction with the team was marked by friendliness and an eagerness to help. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to the main attractions, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The suite was amazing, newly renovated with high ceilings, 2 bedrooms (sleep 5) and a bathroom in a beautiful historic building. The suite was clean and had all the mod cons including a hair dryer, kettle, coffe machine and fridge. The beds were super comfortable, we all slept really well. The location was fabulous, downtown Cairo, 3 minutes from the Eygptian museum and close to all the must visit places in Cairo and with cafes, resturants and shopping at your door step. Our exceptional super host Yasser, made our stay great, nothing was too much trouble from tips on where to go and what to eat and his complimentary walking tour of Cairo was very informative and a great way to experience the city. He even managed to find and retrieve my phone that I lost on a visit to the pyramids and get it back to me on the same day! Highly reccomend the suite and would love to come back again soon with the family.

The property is in an excellent location central to Cairo and close to all major attractions. Egypt museum is 5 minutes walk and there are tons of shops around for food, shopping, etc. Yaseer helped us a lot with both early check-in and late checkout. Not only that he even got us some traditional breakfast on arrival, which was highly appreciated. Further he provided some great recommendations and suggestions to plan our trip to Cairo both before and during the trip. Having him on your side makes you feel a lot comfortable if you are new to Cairo. We did all our Cairo sightseeing bookings through Yaseer.

Due to the location of property, right on the main road there is traffic noise in the rooms. If you are looking for a perfectly quiet property, then you may have some issues. The location is like being in Times Square, so that’s somewhat understandable.
