The hotel's location is in the immediate vicinity of warehouses, but the district is quiet. Nearby are two bus stops and one tram stop. A little further is also the Zurich Altstetten train station. The hotel itself is quiet, neat and comfortable. The room was cleaned daily. A big plus is the panoramic window over the city and a sun blind across the entire width of the window.

A major inconvenience, especially in the summer, is the lack of air conditioning throughout the building. This is compensated by the ability to open the poramic window to 1/4 of its width.

Though this hotel is a little further away from the centre of Zurich, it's worth the 10/15 minute tram ride. We were on the 10th floor in a Loft and the design is excellent, minimal, clean and well thought out. The room was comfortable and well sized, lots of storage and a Nespresso machine which was a nice touch. It was my partners birthday so I spoke with the hotel beforehand to ask them to decorate the room, which they did with balloons and a birthday banner for 20CHF. Check-in staff were very friendly and helpful. Staying here made our stay in Zurich extra special.

There was a silverfish in our room one morning which wasn't great. The cleanliness of the room wasn't an issue, but I have a read a few reviews that mention seeing a silverfish, so it may be a building issue?

I really like that the Hotel was clean and easy to get to. It was hard to travel there in the evenings as there was quite a lot of roadworks which didn't affect the noise but meant it was hard to wheel suitcases. The room was very comfy and the staff were super friendly. I also was able to check-in early at no additional cost. The free bikes also were a great bonus as I was able to explore the city a lot more quickly.

What I found strange was that the hotel had no bar/restaurant open on a Saturday. I would understand if it was a Sunday but meant I had to leave the hotel to find food. This was fine as I wanted to explore Zürich and get the travelcard but I had hoped to lunch in the hotel after having an early morning start. Again, this is probably my own fault for not researching more prior to my arrival to the hotel, so I can't fault the hotel for this...I just found it strange.

The hotel has a business industrial style. Check in fast and easy. The staff is very polite. A lot of amenities inside the room. Wi-fi works properly. Has a mini-market 3 minutes away from the Hotel and it's only 20 min from the city centre by Tram Ligne 2. It's a good opportunity to save money because hotels near tourist places cost so much more.

Everything is really good, no complaints. However, if you book the same room I stayed (Urban Design) for 2 people, just bear in mind that there are no walls between the shower and the room itself. Might be the case to book another category if you are not that close to the person you are sharing the room with.

Our stay in Placid Hotel and its facilities are very good. The rooms have everything you need and are modern. you have huge windows (that can be opened) with a nice view. Also the lounge area with a nice seating area, water and tee is wonderful, as well as the small gym. With public transport you have easy access to the city (although we always needed +/- 30min to our destinations). Can highly recommend this hotel.

The only thing that bothered us a bit was that the room cleaning came very late in the day. I believe it was 5:00 PM when we wanted to rest for a bit, and then the room service knocked to clean. It would be better if this happened in the morning or around noon.

Easy access to the garage incl. e-charging for my car; very friendly staff 24/7; top breakfast buffet; easy reachable by public transport (tram 2 only 350m form the hotel); quiet and relaxed atmosphere/area; tipp: if you want to let fresh air into your room you need/can open the window at any level of the hotel by pressing a small button in the window frame

Missing cupboard requires living out of your suitcase; towel rack too low positioned: wet towels land on the floor

Nice designed loft-style big rooms. Big windows. Shower in the main space that someone can not like but I like it. Very kind staff. Awesome-looked bicycles for free. Good breakfast. Parking under the hotel.

Not cheap, like everything in Switzerland, but in comparison to other hotels the price of the room and of the parking is good. The hotel is located far from the city center, but this is a great option if you need to stay before the travel to the mountains. Anyway, there are some good places to have dinner nearby and a tram that will bring you to the city center in 20 minutes.

We've spent 3 nights at the hotel, and room service didn't clean it even once. But since it was a short stay, no harm caused Breakfast is very pricey (29 CHF per person / day)

We chose this hotel to visit family who lived in the area. It’s located near public transport but it’s quite industrial, leaving the hotel you walk out to warehouses loading/unloading goods and there was construction on other buildings and at the tram depot early in the morning. Hotel is well designed and room is comfortable. I like the design with the concrete floor and also appreciated that the window opens. Parking is convenient and in the basement of the hotel and they also offered bikes for guests.

Shower is completely exposed so there’s no privacy with the person you’re sharing a room with. It’s also exposed to outside so you need to close the room curtains for privacy. Frosting the glass would be a good solution instead of making guests ask a member of staff to come up and install a shower curtain. The room doesn’t have air con, a fan, a fridge or an iron. I eventually realised the hotel make you request this through the iPad in the room so I asked for them on my last day. The iron and fan came but the fridge didn’t and it was too late by that point to ask again.

The guy on the reception said first that late checkout is possible only until 6pm for 60 CHF and then 10 euros for every next hour. He was also saying that I have to pay right away. To which I have agreed but later during actual check-out there was another person who took only 30 CHF from me instead (since I have checked out earlier - at 3pm rather than 6pm). So I assume the actual rules are 10CHF / hour and he was just trying to slightly scam us :) This was not nice
